"F1: The Movie" - Pure entertainment
There is no doubt that, for the most part, Hollywood movies are made solely and exclusively for the purpose of entertaining viewers in the simplest way possible. Very few productions focus on exploring aspects that go beyond entertainment, since, obviously, the profit lies in ticket sales. The above observation is not necessarily a complaint on my part. In fact, I believe that Hollywood's job is to entertain above all else. Then we can talk about the lessons or message that a film may have. But as long as it is not necessarily harmful, then films can be mere entertainment to distract the mind and have a good time.
Personally, I don't dislike movies that are purely for entertainment purposes. I believe that every movie or series has a purpose, and in that sense, everyone can take it however they want. For example, I am a fan of horror movies, and this is a genre that, apart from entertaining, generates uncertainty, suspicion, morbid curiosity, among other feelings that I, personally, like to experience. But I know that this is not the case for other people, who focus on other film genres in search of different feelings.
In the case of the film I am sharing today, called F1: The Movie (produced by Warner Bros. and Apple TV), it tells the story of Sonny Hayes, played by the well-known Brad Pitt. In previous years, he was a great promise in Formula 1, but an accident left him out of the game for a very long time. In fact, he almost lost his life. In the years that followed, Sonny Hayes devoted himself to other types of racing, perhaps more at an amateur level, but always with his characteristic attitude, which could be described as egotistical or arrogant, since his talent somehow spoke for itself. However, there were other aspects that made him seem like a kind of lone wolf, a wandering soul, a person with some frustrations that undoubtedly caused him to make mistakes or destabilized him in his daily life.

So, one day, an old friend who worked in Formula 1 approached him and invited him to join his team. The team in question is an up-and-coming team looking to earn a place in the complicated world of Formula 1. After much hesitation, and even refusing the request, he decides to go to England, where he would do some testing with the Formula 1 car, which has obviously changed and could undoubtedly be a challenge for Sonny Hayes, since he had to adapt to it first. So Sonny Hayes agrees to stay with the team, but from there, a battle of egos begins, a battle of pride, in which Sonny must try to adapt to playing as part of a team, because otherwise, in a world like Formula 1, you cannot transcend.
Something I really liked about this movie were some twists that I, personally, didn't expect, but which undoubtedly added a special flavor, considering that when it comes to movies with big actors, like Brad Pitt and others of his ilk, they never lose a race, they seem indestructible and invincible. But in this case, I liked the fact that we could see in the character of Sonny Hayes that there are weaknesses, that there are things he understood he had to learn in order not to fall behind, since the world of Formula 1 has undoubtedly changed and, in that sense, he understood that teamwork and trusting others must be fundamental in order to achieve good results.
The performances, for their part, are quite good; beyond Brad Pitt, the supporting cast did a good job. Basically, it was what you would expect in this type of film. I also want to highlight the visual effects, which are quite realistic. In fact, at no point did I feel that special effects had been used, so that's a plus for films in which the races are, if you like, the most important visual element. And well, overall, I really liked both the visual effects and the soundtrack.
F1: The Movie | Official Trailer
I don't think this is a movie for everyone; I think you definitely have to like the world of motor racing, at the very least, otherwise you're likely to get bored, considering that you need to have some background or knowledge about the world of racing to better understand some of the scenes we see in the movie.
Well, as I said in the title of this post, this is pure entertainment, a movie that may not go down in history as one of the best, but one that I personally enjoyed quite a bit, and I encourage you to watch it if you like the world of racing. Trust me, you'll like it, and trust me, you'll also like how Sonny Hayes' character ends up, his adventures in Formula 1. We don't know if it's a final goodbye, but it's likely that it is; we'll see in the future. It was a pleasure to share, see you soon!

I'm a huge fan of F1 and motorsports in general, but I haven't seen this movie yet. Just when I think I'm finally going to watch it, I find another one that catches my eye. I'll see if I can watch it next week. Cheers, buddy.
The most accurate headline from this film I've read so far. 💫
