The Hunger Games - A saga that has aged well
I took advantage of these final days of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 to rewatch The Hunger Games saga. It is a series of films that undoubtedly left its mark on the world of cinema, especially within the science fiction genre with political premises and radical groups. I believe that this saga had a significant cultural impact. Many of its actors achieved worldwide fame as a result, and fans tried to replicate the hairstyles and clothing seen on screen.
On a technical level, visual identity is fundamental. The contrast between the districts and the Capitol is very well done. The Capitol is shown to be ostentatious, highly technological, and with an aristocracy that dresses extravagantly, while the districts have a simpler aesthetic consistent with places where poverty and oppression reign. The transportation vehicles (air and land), weapons, and futuristic elements are set in a very original way.

The saga presents a world where a leader uses 12 districts as suppliers so that the citizens of the Capitol can live fully and ostentatiously. Meanwhile, those who reside in the districts are oppressed and forced into precarious jobs under a system managed by fear. Regarding the development of the story, it is fascinating to see the evolution of the conflict. The character of Katniss Everdeen leads the transition of a group of “players” who served as entertainment and punishment to an organized revolution in which she became involved almost without realizing it.
Beyond the protagonist, there are arcs of transformation where secondary characters become key players in the rebellion. The actors were very well cast, achieving incredible chemistry and giving each character a distinctive personality. On the other hand, the main enemy is one of the best characters; a ruthless, unmasked guy who makes a big impact from start to finish.
The Hunger Games - Official Trailer
I saw the first movie in the theater in 2012 and have been hooked ever since. I've seen all four main movies (not counting the most recent prequels) and really like the continuity they maintain. If I had to rank them based on my preferences, the order would be as follows: The Hunger Games (the first one is my favorite), then the second movie, followed by Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2. Interestingly, my order of preference coincides with the chronological order of release.
Overall, I give the saga a score of 8.5 out of 10, both for the impact it had on me and for how entertaining it is. Is it worth binge-watching? Absolutely. It's always good to revisit sagas that have been really good. If you don't remember much about the events and you have time, I recommend watching the four main films. Although I know there are prequels (including the one coming out this year), these tell stories of characters when they were young, so they don't directly affect the narrative of the first four films. It was a pleasure to share, see you next time.

Greetings, friend. This is a very interesting saga because of the way you have to risk your life in each district. Of all the books, I liked the first one because of how it was developed and without the exaggeration of the later ones, which I think lost some of the essence of the whole plot. However, it's a great classic, and I'm sure they'll release another installment this year.
It is a franchise that I would watch many times. For me, the hype reaches its peak when he splits the sky with his arrow. It has the political elements you mention, and I would add that it has a bit of Greek gods with flashes of Artemis.
I finally got to see the whole saga last year, and boy, did I regret not starting to enjoy it from its peak in 2012. You're one of the lucky ones who got hooked on this franchise from the beginning.
This saga is brilliant 😍 It uses science fiction to show us what it's like to live under the oppression of a ruthless tyrant who uses inhumane resources to live life to the fullest and become increasingly wealthy at the expense of the oppressed 💔
I only saw the last part in the cinema, and it was an emotional shock with everything that happened in just a few hours. It is undoubtedly one of the most significant sagas in science fiction cinema! ❤️
