Another tough challenge (but also very fun) this week. I would normally go with probably one of my favorite films but I need to be sure that being stuck on a deserted island, that watching the film over again wouldn't drive me crazy and be fun to watch after the 100th time.

In the end, it was a tussle between the work of Guy Ritchie, Luc Besson, and Nick Love, and Nick Love won me over. In the Guy Ritchie films, there are many great actors, scenes and musical scores that keep me coming back for more, and I never tire of seeing some of my favorite scenes and characters such as Bricktop.

I also love the work of Luc Besson and his masterpieces such as The Fifth Element and Leon. The great musical scores and action scenes you can watch over and over again. But in the end, there can be only one.. and I have chosen The Business by Nick Love. It is not so well known and famous as some of his other films such as the classic film that made Danny Dyer famous, The Football Factory which I really like too.

The film is really watchable as it recreates the 80s with a great soundtrack all the way through and the costumes the characters wear are brilliant. In the 00s it seemed there was a huge musical vacuum left from the '80s and 90s and it was trying to find its own place. Since then there have been many films trying to recreat the 80s and 90s.

Danny Dyer is great in the film but it is Tamer Hassan who really shines with an amazing screen presence and lifts everybody up.

The film has everything a gangster film should have and the action scenes are great and not over the top like in some of the more graphic films that followed on from this genre.. Craig Fairbrass I'm thinking of your films! (search Fast Food Frenzy if you want to see an example).

The film portrays how fresh Spain was 30-40 years ago as it became a mass-tourism hotspot and the criminal element from the UK was also involved. The film shows us some highs and lows and like in his previous film The Football Factory, Nick Love reveals the morality behind these actions and the consequences that can follow.

To be on a deserted island and be able to watch a film with Frankie Goes To Hollywood and other classic 80s tracks with some great scenic views of Spain and some hilarious scenes would be a great pleasure.

Thanks for reading.

Hey Steve,

Oh shit, I didn't read the fine print ^^. You were totally right, it is a movie, you watch, when you are on a deserted island.
My bad :)
