En el mundo del cine, existen actrices y actores que destacan por su talento y versatilidad en la interpretación de diferentes personajes. Una de esas grandes figuras es Sandra Bullock, reconocida mundialmente por su carisma y talento. En esta ocasión, nos adentraremos en el mundo de su última película, The Unforgivable, una historia que ha cautivado a críticos y espectadores por igual pero que en lo personal me dejó ganas de saber más sobre la historia y el final quedó abierto a la imaginación y bueno esperaba un poco más aunque las películas de Netflix suelen ser un poco "repetitivas" en algunas ocasiones pero también hay alguna que otra película buena.

One of those great figures is Sandra Bullock, recognized worldwide for her charisma and talent. On this occasion, we will enter the world of her latest film, The Unforgivable, a story that has captivated critics and viewers alike but that personally left me wanting to know more about the story and the ending was left open to the imagination and well I expected a little more although Netflix movies tend to be a little "repetitive" at times but there are also some other good movies.

The Unforgivable nos presenta a Ruth Slater, interpretada magistralmente por Sandra Bullock. Ruth es una mujer que ha pasado veinte años en prisión por un crimen que cometió en el pasado. Al ser liberada, su objetivo principal es encontrar a su hermana, a quien ha perdido de vista durante todos esos años. El ser una exconvicto y luego salir al mundo después de haber pasado tantos años encerrada como es en el caso se Ruth, se siente extraña, todo ha cambiado y la manera de relacionarse ya no es la misma, siempre está el temor de que las personas se enteren de que estuviste en la cárcel y peor aún por haber matado. Ruth tiene que pasar por el proceso de regresar a la civilización y no cometer ningún error que la vuelva a llevar a la cárcel. También debe reintegrarse a la sociedad y buscar un trabajo, pero no tiene muchas opciones ya que por sus antecedentes no la aceptarían en casi ningún lugar. Por lo que consigue dos trabajos, uno donde se encarga de picar y limpiar peces en una compañia y otro trabajo que le gusta más ya que tiene las habilidades como lo es la carpintería. En ambos no existe una buena paga pero ayuda a que mientras ella está en el proceso de estar de nuevo como una ciudadana común, pueda ir ayudándose y también le den el visto bueno el policía que está todo el tiempo asegurándose de que ella está haciendo las cosas bien y no se meta en más problemas.

The Unforgivable introduces us to Ruth Slater, masterfully played by Sandra Bullock. Ruth is a woman who has spent twenty years in prison for a crime she committed in the past. Upon her release, her main goal is to find her sister, whom she has lost sight of during all those years. Being an ex-convict and then going out into the world after having spent so many years locked up as it is in Ruth's case, feels strange, everything has changed and the way of relating is no longer the same, there is always the fear that people will find out that you were in prison and even worse for having killed. Ruth has to go through the process of returning to civilization and not make any mistake that will take her back to jail. She also has to reintegrate into society and look for a job, but she doesn't have many options since her background would not accept her almost anywhere. So she gets two jobs, one where she is in charge of chopping and cleaning fish in a company and another job that she likes more since she has the skills as it is carpentry. Both don't pay well, but it helps while she is in the process of being a regular citizen again, she can help herself and also get a clean bill of health from the policeman who is all the time making sure she is doing things right and not getting into more trouble.

La película, dirigida por Nora Fingscheidt, nos sumerge en un viaje emocional y lleno de suspenso, donde Ruth se enfrentará a su pasado y luchará por encontrar la redención y el perdón. A lo largo de la trama, nos encontramos con diversos personajes que influirán en la vida de Ruth, como su supervisor y la esposa de el interpretada por la grandiosa Viola Davis, y un hombre misterioso que parece conocer su pasado pero que se mantiene cerca de ella con el interés de entablar una amistad, mientras también oculta su pasado. El guion, escrito por Peter Craig y Jonathan Herman, nos presenta una historia sólida y bien estructurada. La narrativa nos mantiene en vilo durante toda la película, revelando lentamente los secretos y las motivaciones de los personajes. The narrative keeps us on edge throughout the film, slowly revealing the secrets and motivations of the characters. In addition, Fingscheidt's direction creates an intense and distressing atmosphere, perfectly capturing the emotions of the protagonists.

El aspecto actoral es otro de los puntos fuertes de la película. Sandra Bullock brinda una actuación excepcional, mostrando una vez más su habilidad para transmitir emociones profundas y complejas. Su interpretación de Ruth es poderosa y conmovedora, logrando que el espectador conecte con su lucha interna y sus deseos de redención. Para mí lo mejor de la película fue la interpretación de Sandra donde podemos verla sin ningún tipo de maquillaje, como una mujer relativamente normal pero que en su rostro refleja el sufrimiento de haber estado presa durante 20 años y además el haber perdido a su hermana menor, la única persona importante en su vida y por la cual haría cualquier cosa con tal de que estuviera bien.

Her portrayal of Ruth is powerful and moving, making the viewer connect with her inner struggle and desire for redemption. For me, the best part of the film was Sandra's performance where we can see her without any makeup, as a relatively normal woman but her face reflects the suffering of having been imprisoned for 20 years and also having lost her younger sister, the only important person in her life and for whom she would do anything to make her well.

Sandra Bullock nos ofrece una interpretación memorable, mostrándonos una vez más su talento y versatilidad como actriz. Una vez más luego de haber visto Bird Box interpretada por Sandra Bullock, no me queda más que decir que ella es una excelente actriz que puede llegar a realizar desde el papel más simple hasta el más complicado y en esta película demuestra su fuerza como actriz, donde podemos llegar a sentir con ella su sufrimiento, sus miedos y su lucha por encontrar a su hermana y que ella sepa que siempre ha pensado en ella en todo momento a pesar de todo lo traumático que vivieron ambas. La trama, llena de misterio y emociones, nos mantiene pegados a la pantalla, ansiosos por descubrir el desenlace de la historia.

The Unforgivable is a film that stands out for its captivating story, brilliant performances and impeccable direction. Sandra Bullock gives us a memorable performance, showing us once again her talent and versatility as an actress. Once again after having seen Bird Box played by Sandra Bullock, I can only say that she is an excellent actress who can perform from the simplest to the most complicated role and in this film she shows her strength as an actress, where we can feel with her her suffering, her fears and her struggle to find her sister and that she knows that she has always thought of her at all times despite all the traumatic things they both lived through. The plot, full of mystery and emotions, keeps us glued to the screen, anxious to discover the outcome of the story.

Si eres fanático del cine de suspenso y disfrutas de películas que exploran temas como el perdón y la redención, The Unforgivable es una opción que no te puedes perder. Sandra Bullock y el talentoso elenco te llevarán en un viaje emocional que te mantendrá pensando mucho después de que las luces del cine se enciendan. Aunque advierto que el final puede llegar a decepcionar un poco, esperaba algo más pero quedó como un final abierto, lo que más me gustó sin duda fue la gran actuación de Sandra Bullock y creo que eso es lo mejor que tiene esta película.

Although I warn that the ending may disappoint a bit, I was expecting something more but it was left as an open ending, what I liked the most without a doubt was Sandra Bullock's great performance and I think that's the best thing about this movie.
