Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv el día de hoy quiero recomendarles una película de Apple Tv la cual me apareció en un post de Instagram como recomendación llamada Palmer protagonizada por Justin Timberlake que me sorprendió mucho y me conmovió con la historia que nos cuenta. Antes de empezar quiero aclarar que se tocan temas de la comunidad LGBTIQ, puede que algunas personas no se sientan cómodas con este tema pero las invito a ver está película y abrir la mente como lo hizo nuestro protagonista Palmer.

Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community today I want to recommend a movie from Apple TV which appeared to me in an Instagram post as a recommendation called Palmer starring Justin Timberlake that surprised me a lot and moved me with the story it tells. Before I start I want to clarify that it touches on issues of the LGBTIQ community, some people may not feel comfortable with this topic but I invite you to watch this movie and open your mind as our protagonist Palmer did.

Well, Palmer's story has a lot to tell us about the saying that we should not judge a book by its cover, and how right this saying is. Palmer, an ex-convict who is released early for his good behavior in prison, has no family, only his grandmother, who welcomes him into her home with love no matter what he has done in the past.

La abuela de Palmer es una señora muy buena y todos en el pueblo la conocen, ella también tiene una casa andante al frente de su casa donde vive una chica con problemas de alcohol y su pareja, pero también allí vive Sam un niño muy educado y con un gusto peculiar que todos al conocerlo notan de inmediato. With Palmer's arrival, his grandmother introduces him to Sam, Palmer doesn't think much of his grandmother's relationship with Sam. They all go to Sunday Mass and share a meal together. In the process Palmer tries to get a job but because of his prison record many people deny him the opportunity to have one. Until one day he is given the opportunity in a school as a janitor and also to fix everything that is damaged in the school.

After Palmer's grandmother is no longer around, he is left alone with Sam and tries to adjust to the new situation he finds himself in. Palmer realizes that Sam is in the same school that he works at, but he also realizes that Sam does not like boy things but on the contrary he loves to watch every episode of the mermaid princesses which is his favorite TV show and he also dresses and likes many girl things but in his innocence Sam does not understand why people or boys tell him things like he is weird or that he wants to be a girl. Palmer becomes the only person in his life who cares about him since his mother disappeared and left with her boyfriend.

En esta película podemos ver cómo existe el bullying tanto por parte de los niños y también de los adultos, ya que en una escena Sam sufre un abuso por parte del padre de uno de los niños que siempre lo molestan y es allí donde se ve claramente que la sociedad aún tiene mucho que aprender. Aprender no a aceptar sino a respetar lo que te parezca diferente o lo que simplemente no entiendas. En todas las familias hay personas ocultando sus gustos por el miedo a ser juzgado e incluso a no tener más el apoyo de su familia.

In this film we can see how bullying exists both by children and adults, as in one scene Sam is abused by the father of one of the children who always bother him and it is there where it becomes clear that society still has a lot to learn. To learn not to accept but to respect what you find different or what you simply don't understand. In every family there are people hiding their likes and dislikes for fear of being judged and even not having the support of their family anymore.

Es dificil para una persona dentro de la comunidad LGBTIQ vivir en esta sociedad donde abunda el odio y la rabia contenida por muchas personas que tal vez por no entender o intentar ocultar lo que realmente son, prefieren atacar y también humillar como modo de defensa.

It is difficult for a person within the LGBTIQ community to live in this society where hatred and rage abound, contained by many people who perhaps because they do not understand or try to hide what they really are, prefer to attack and also humiliate as a way of defense.

Palmer es simplemente una película de un hombre y un niño los cuales por diferentes razones no son comprendidos y tienen que sufrir las consecuencias de esto. Puedo decir que la actuación de Justin como Palmer fue bastante buena, me gustó su manera de apoyar siempre a Sam como un padre realmente lo haría. El niño que hace a Sam lo hizo maravilloso, me pareció que estuvo mostrando durante toda la película como se siente ser un niño y ser juzgado por tus gustos.

Palmer is simply a movie about a man and a boy who for different reasons are not understood and have to suffer the consequences of this. I can say that Justin's performance as Palmer was quite good, I liked his way of always supporting Sam as a father really would. The kid who plays Sam did wonderful, I thought he was showing throughout the whole movie how it feels to be a kid and be judged for your likes and dislikes.

Está película es de Apple Tv pero yo la vi en Cuevana, la verdad es que no tenía idea de su existencia hasta que me salió en TikTok algunas de sus escenas y siempre me preguntaba cómo se llamaba y dónde la podría ver. Me alegra mucho haberla visto y se que muchas personas se van a sentir identificadas tanto con Sam como con Palmer, es una historia realmente conmovedora, dos horas que valieron totalmente la pena.

This movie is from Apple TV but I saw it on Cuevana, the truth is that I had no idea of its existence until I saw some of its scenes on TikTok and I always wondered what it was called and where I could see it. I am very glad I saw it and I know that many people will feel identified with both Sam and Palmer, it is a really touching story, two hours that were totally worth it.
