Movies Review: The Last Letter from your Lover [ENG-ESP]

Hello my friends of the Movies & Tv community today I want to share with you my review of a 60s era drama/romance movie streaming on Netflix starring Shailene Woodley, Joe Alwyn, Callum Turner, Nabhaan Rizwan and Felicity Jones.

Hola mis amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv el día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi reseña de una película de drama y romance en la época de los 60s, transmitida en Netflix con la protagonizacion de Shailene Woodley, Joe Alwyn, Callum Turner, Nabhaan Rizwan y Felicity Jones.

Last Letter from your Lover is an adaptation of the book by the famous writer Jojo Moyes, the truth is that I had never heard about the book but I had seen the trailer of this movie some time ago and I didn't give it the attention it deserved at the time. I don't know much about the book because I haven't read it so I couldn't compare the movie but I guess it must be even more exciting to read it and then watch the movie. From Jojo Moyes I have only seen the movie Me before You which is also an adaptation of the book and the movie was very good, if you haven't seen it I recommend it.

Last Letter from your Lover es una adaptación del libro de la escritora famosa Jojo Moyes, la verdad nunca había escuchado hablar sobre el libro pero si había visto el tráiler de esta película hace un tiempo y no le di la atención que merecía en su momento. Del libro no sé mucho porque no lo he leído así que no podría comparar la película pero supongo que debe ser incluso más emocionante leerlo y después ver la película. De Jojo Moyes solo he visto la película Me before You que también es una adaptación del libro y la película fue muy buena, si no la han visto se las recomiendo.

Well, let's start talking about Last Letter from your Lover. This movie tells the story of Jennie (Shailene Woodley) and her husband Lawrence Sterling (Joe Alwyn) who met and quickly joined in marriage. Their relationship is really more than a matter of convenience, but they feel it is a normal relationship. They live in a luxurious home and Lawrence is a rather absent husband as he has to be on the road for his job.

Está película nos cuenta la historia de Jennie (Shailene Woodley) y su esposo Lawrence Sterling (Joe Alwyn) los cuales se conocieron y rápidamente se unieron en matrimonio. Realmente la relación de ambos es más que por conveniencia, pero ellos lo sienten como una relación normal. Viven en una casa con lujos y Lawrence es un esposo bastante ausente ya que por su trabajo tiene que estar viajando.

One day Lawrence tells Jennie that he is going to be interviewed and that he would like her to be there. The man who interviews him is Anthony O'Hare a man who catches Jennie's attention because of his manner and friendliness. Lawrence has to travel again for his job and Jennie is left home alone.

As the days go by, Jennie meets Anthony and they begin to get to know each other, creating a bond that is very difficult to untie. They both send each other letters, where they tell each other things about each other and as time goes on these letters turn into romantic letters. The two have a romance where Jennie realizes what lies beyond the life she made with her husband.

This story captivates her and makes her spend hours searching for more information about these letters and what happened to the relationship while spending time with her co-worker Rory (Nabhaan Rizwan) with whom she creates a bond of friendship that becomes stronger and stronger as they both investigate this love story.

En la actualidad Ellie (Felicity Jones) trabaja como reportera y tiene una vida amorosa bastante complicada, en su trabajo encuentra una carta de hace unos años dónde un hombre le expresa el gran deseo y amor que siente por una mujer llamada Jennie. This almost two hour story is beautiful from beginning to end, Shailene plays a spectacular role of a woman who wants to find happiness and realizes that maybe it wasn't a good decision to marry Lawrence. The whole time this movie keeps you smiling, crying, wishing the main characters could be together. Joe Alwyn has a good role as the villainous husband, although he seems to be more of a good guy, but this time he is the opposite.

Esta historia de casi dos horas es hermosa de principio a fin, Shailene hace un papel espectacular de una mujer que quiere encontrar la felicidad y se da cuenta que tal vez no fue una buena decisión casarse con Lawrence. Todo el rato está película te mantiene sonriendo, llorando, deseando que los protagonistas puedan estar juntos. Joe Alwyn tiene un buen papel como el esposo villano, aunque el pareciera más de papeles donde hace de bueno pero en esta ocasión es todo lo contrario.

I love romance and period stories so I really enjoyed this movie, the chemistry between the main characters was too intense and it made you get into the story and feel part of it. I wish I had read the book, which is surely wonderful. As always I got to feel a lot of mixed feelings about the story and how so many things happen for them to decide if they are going to be together or not.

A mí me encantan las historias de romance y de época así que me gustó mucho esta película, la química entre los protagonistas era demasiado intensa y te hacía entrar en la historia y sentirte parte de ella. Ojalá me hubiera leído el libro, que seguramente es maravilloso. Cómo siempre llegué a sentir muchos sentimientos encontrados por la historia y como pasan tantas cosas para que ellos decidan si van a estar juntos o no.

The past sometimes stays in our memory, especially if it marks our life talking about love, because it is difficult to forget the good moments that you lived with a person and what that person made you feel, even you can never completely forget those moments.
I invite you to watch this movie, you may be surprised if you like romances in movies and how two people can love each other despite the passing of the years.
