FILM PHOTOGRAPHY FAILURE THAT TEACH ME SOMETHING WORTHWHILE

Hello everyone!

Does anyone here still love taking pictures using a film camera? Do you guys still feel the excitement of taking pictures using films while thinking if the photo result will become good or bad?

I had a really great passion for film photography and what makes me love film photography is the excitement it brings since you cannot see the result right away after you take the picture, you have to wait until the films are processed. So you'll be curious how it turns out. It teaches you to learn how to take risks by just taking a picture and letting the outcome be what it is. It may be beautiful or damaged, but at least you took the chance.

For the process, once you have used up the roll of film in the camera, you will need to unload the roll from the camera and bring it to film labs such as Fujifilm, and Sunny16lab to get the photos developed. My favorite one is from Fujifilm in SM Megamall, I remember every time that I had a complete roll, I always went to Fujifilm to process my films immediately after work, I just waited for more than 1 hour to get my processed film. While in Sunny16lab, where most of the film photographers' favorite lab to process their films, I tried once but the process made me wait for almost one week, which is understandable because they have a lot of clients every day, and worth the wait din naman but I can't wait that long, my patience cannot take that long waiting time. But the result always made me happy and satisfied.

The film also brings me so many memories.

So I'm sharing with you here my first film roll using Fuji color C200. So before I start, I just want to say that not every failure is ugly, there's always beauty behind the failure. Haha, I mention this because, in my first ever film roll, after loading the roll by the photos in Quezon City Circle Park, I brought it right away to Sunny16lab. Since it was my first film camera roll, my excitement was at a record-breaking level, and I was no longer able to control it. Lol. When the day came, the results were emailed to me, and to my disappointment, the photo results were damaged.

Since I haven't used my camera in a while, I've just noticed that the lens has developed a fog. I was told to take it to Quiapo in Manila to get it cleaned and fixed. And that's what I did.

But despite the fact that my photographs looked like failures, I still treasure and appreciate my first roll since that's how life is in general. We learn from our mistakes. After failing, the taste of triumph is usually sweeter!

So, in my upcoming blog, I'll show you how my photos turned out after I cleaned and repaired them. Stay tuned!

Thank you for reading! 😊

It's been a while since I last used a film camera but I like the vintage vibes of the pictures it captures. Can't wait to see the cleaned version!

Same! That's why I love film photos.

Oof. Sad to hear that the results were damaged. Still love the results though! The graininess of film photos always calls to meeee.

I found a bunch of film cameras sitting around here days ago! 'Di ko lang sure kung gumagana pa sila.

Nag stop na rin ako gumamit ng film camera recently kasi ang mahal na ng film rolls ngayon. But good alternative yung mga digicams instead! 🖤

Hindi nmn mukhang damaged for me 😆 maliban dun sa isa na parang naputol. May nostalgic feels yung photos.

Gusto ko rin sana bumili ng film cam kaso baka masayang hindi ko magamit kasi wala ako time and patience.

Medyo pricey na ngayon yung film rolls. If you're planning to buy film cam, digicam na lang!! Same nostalgic feels din yung result, but wala nga lang yung specific effect.
