A different day at a meeting on Venezuelan cinema [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, dear friends of the community, I hope everyone is doing great. This is the first post I'm making in this community, so I hope you enjoy the reading and the pictures. I must say that my day to day is usually directed by a routine already established, so any change or different activity that comes up I am choosing to accept it, so when a friend invited me to accompany him to what would be a discussion on Venezuelan cinema I could not refuse, plus I am a film lover, so it seemed interesting to me also know a little more about the cinema of my country, which if I am very honest I am quite ignorant.

Saludos, queridos amigos de la comunidad, espero que todos se encuentren genial. Esta es la primera publicación que hago en esta comunidad, por lo que espero que disfruten de la lectura y las imágenes. Debo decir que mi día a día normalmente está dirigido por una rutina ya establecida, por lo que cualquier cambio o actividad distinta que se presente estoy optando por aceptarla, por lo que cuando una amiga me invitó a acompañarle a lo que sería un conversatorio sobre el cine venezolano no pude negarme, además que soy un amante del cine, por lo que me parecía interesante también conocer un poco más sobre el cine de mi país, del cual si les soy muy honesto soy bastante ignorante.

The discussion was organized by the UNEY (Universidad Nacional Experimental del Yaracuy), here would be present some professors who make life in this university and which are linked to cinema or maintain knowledge about it thanks to their studies and the subjects they provide to their students. The place where the discussion would be held was in a library, where apart from having a lot of books, billboards and other instruments with a lot of information, they lend the place for conservatories of different subjects, but this time it was of Venezuelan cinema.

My friend and I arrived relatively early, it hadn't started yet, so they let us in and we decided to explore the place a bit. I feel that there were many interesting things to look at, among them some paintings with important people who in one way or another contributed to the development of Venezuelan culture or are part of the Venezuelan culture and more specifically of the state of Yaracuy. On the other hand, my friend decided to look for a book about design (she is a student of integral design) and she was delighted.

El conversatorio estaba organizado por la UNEY (Universidad Nacional Experimental del Yaracuy), aquí estarían presentes algunos profesores que hacen vida en esta universidad y los cuales están ligados al cine o mantienen conocimiento sobre el mismo gracias a sus estudios y las materias que brindan a sus estudiantes. El lugar donde se realizaría el conversatorio era en una biblioteca, donde aparte de tener una gran cantidad de libros, carteleras y demás instrumentos con mucha información, prestan el lugar para conservatorios de distintos temas, pero en esta oportunidad fue de cine venezolano.

Mi amiga y yo llegamos relativamente temprano, todavía no había empezado, por lo que nos hicieron entrar y decidimos explorar un poco el lugar. Siento que había muchas cosas interesantes para fijarse, entre ellas algunos cuadros con personajes importantes y que de alguna manera u otra aportaron al desarrollo de la cultura venezolana o son parte de la cultura venezolana y más en específico del estado Yaracuy. Por otra parte, mi amiga decidió buscar un libro sobre diseño (ella es estudiante de diseño integral) y estaba encantada.

After a few minutes people began to arrive and when we least expected it, the discussion was already starting. It was quite interesting to learn about the beginnings of Venezuelan cinema, the number of films, the impact that Venezuelan cinema had and the titles that were an unexpected success. The discussion was quite interesting, many people were participating and as this was going to last several hours, the organizers had a break time, because although it is striking to learn about all this, I think that doing it so often can overwhelm, so they had prepared some snacks, which they gave us and it was a good way to relax and then return to the main topic.

As I said at the beginning, I am ignorant about Venezuelan cinema and although I am not proud of it, not knowing so much about it let me know some interesting films with a history that I did not know, so it was an excellent experience and I consider that it is never too late to discover new old things. The conversation lasted several hours, but it was something that both my friend and I enjoyed, so I thank her for inviting me, it was a completely different day and I would say quite productive.

Luego de algunos minutos comenzó a llegar las personas y cuando menos lo esperábamos ya estaba dando inicio al conversatorio. Fue bastante interesante ir conociendo los inicios del cine venezolano, la cantidad de películas, el impacto que el cine venezolano tuvo y el conocer los títulos que fueron un éxito inesperado. El conversatorio estaba bastante interesante, muchas personas estaban participando y como este iba a durar varias horas, los organizadores tenían un tiempo de descanso, porque si bien es llamativo conocer sobre todo esto, creo que hacerlo de manera tan seguida puede abrumar, por lo que tenían preparados unos aperitivos, los cuales nos hicieron llegar y fue una buena manera de relajarnos para luego volver al tema principal.

Como bien decía al principio, yo soy un ignorante sobre el cine venezolano y si bien no me enorgullece, el no conocer tanto sobre ello me dejó conocer algunas películas interesantes con una historia que desconocía, por lo que fue una excelente experiencia y que considero que nunca es tarde para descubrir nuevas viejas cosas. El conversatorio duró varias horas, pero fue algo que disfrutamos tanto mi amiga como yo, por lo que le agradezco por haberme invitado, fue un día completamente diferente y diría que bastante productivo.
