A different day: Movies and Sushi [Eng/Esp]
Greetings, dear friends in the community. How are you today? I’m feeling good, and I hope you are too. There are times when you need to break out of your routine, try new things, and do things you haven’t done in a long time; it’s a great way to disconnect from the stress of the past few days, and I’d say that’s exactly what it meant to me, so join me for a different kind of day filled with movies and sushi.
Saludos, queridos amigos de la comunidad. ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo me siento bien y espero que ustedes también lo estén. Hay ocasiones en que uno debe salir de la rutina y probar cosas nuevas y hacer otras cosas que quizás no has hecho en un largo tiempo; es una buena forma de tener una desconexión del estrés de los días anteriores y diría que esto fue lo que significó para mí, así que acompáñenme en un día distinto lleno de cine y sushi.
My girlfriend and I are trying to go on different dates whenever we can, and she had sushi at a place she really liked, so she wanted me to go with her. Since it was in a different part of town from where we live, it meant taking a little trip of about an hour, so I thought it was a good idea, especially since, given that she liked the sushi, it was something she’d want to do again.
Junto a mi novia, estamos intentando tener distintas citas siempre que se pueda, y ella comió sushi de un sitio que le gustó bastante, por lo que quería que yo fuese con ella y, al ser en un lugar distinto a donde vivimos, tocaba hacer un pequeño viaje de una hora y algo, así que me pareció una buena idea y más tomando en cuenta que, como a ella le gustó el sushi, sería un plan que le gustaría repetir.
To be perfectly honest, I had never tried sushi before that moment, and if I’m being completely honest, I didn’t like it that much, but I didn’t dislike it as much as I thought I would either. The thing is, the sushi had cream cheese, and I’m not a fan of any kind of cheese; that, let’s say, kind of ruined the sushi for me a bit, but without the cream cheese, I’d say I would have liked it more, without a doubt. Even so, it’s something I could eat again, as long as it doesn’t have cream cheese, but I really liked everything else, and the place is very nice, with excellent service and a great atmosphere for hanging out.
Siendo muy sincero, yo nunca había probado sushi hasta ese momento y, si les soy muy honesto, no me gustó tanto, pero tampoco me desagradó como pensé que sucedería. Pasa que el sushi tenía queso crema y yo no soy amante de ningún tipo de queso; eso, digamos que me dañó un poco el sushi, pero sin el queso crema diría que me hubiese gustado más, sin duda. Aun así, es algo que podría volver a comer, siempre y cuando no tenga queso crema, pero el resto de cosas me gustó bastante y el local es muy bonito, con una excelente atención y buen ambiente para pasar el rato.
Since we’d already made the trip, we couldn’t just leave without doing something else, so I suggested we go to the movies, she wanted to see the new Michael Jackson movie, so we took the opportunity to do just that. Honestly, it had been years since I’d been to the movies; I usually watch movies at home, it’s more comfortable, but since it was a movie my girlfriend wanted to see on the big screen, I couldn’t say no, and I have to say I really liked the movie. I’ve always loved learning about what a singer’s life was like before fame and stardom, and Michael Jackson was certainly no exception. You end up empathizing with him a lot more, and although I really like his music, let’s just say I’m not that big of a fan and I don’t know that much about him, but I really enjoyed learning a little more, and now we just have to wait for the second part; we’ll go see that one too.
Como ya habíamos hecho ese viaje, no nos podíamos solo ir sin hacer alguna otra cosa, por lo que le propuse ir al cine, ya que ella quería ver la nueva película de Michael Jackson, así que aprovechamos para hacerlo. Yo, honestamente, tenía muchos años desde que no iba al cine; normalmente veo las películas en mi casa, es más cómodo, pero al ser una película que mi novia quería ver en la gran pantalla, no podía negarme y debo decir que la película me gustó bastante. Siempre me ha encantado el poder conocer cómo es la vida del cantante antes de la fama y del estrellato y, sin duda, Michael Jackson no fue la excepción. Uno termina empatizando mucho más y, aunque me gusta mucho su música, digamos que no soy tan fanático ni sé tanto de él, pero realmente me gustó conocer un poco más y ya solo nos queda esperar por la segunda parte; iremos también.
Although it might seem like just two activities that don't take much time, they actually took us several hours; I’d say easily about 7 hours, and then we had to head back home, so we were already tired, but it really was a great date idea and I’d like to do it again, maybe not exactly the same thing, but definitely travel again and keep doing different things, since sometimes you end up getting bored of doing the same old things where you live.
Aunque pareciera que fuesen solo dos actividades que no llevan mucho tiempo, realmente se nos fueron varias horas; diría que perfectamente unas 7 horas, y luego debíamos regresar a donde vivimos, por lo que ya estábamos cansados, pero realmente fue una buena idea de cita y me gustaría repetirla, quizás no el hacer lo mismo, pero sí el viajar nuevamente y así seguir haciendo cosas distintas, ya que uno a veces se termina aburriendo de repetir las mismas cosas donde vive.
