Today has been pretty quiet, I tried to get ahead of things I had pending so I could take the rest of the day and rest a bit. Talking with a friend about movies, she told me that she had recently seen a movie that surprised her a lot, but she didn't tell me many details, she only told me that I should watch it on my own to understand it, although if I'm honest the description didn't catch my attention, but I still decided to give it a chance, so, welcome dear movie and TV series lovers, today I want to tell you my opinion about "FOE", let's start.

This movie, released on October 6, 2023, is an American production that belongs to the genre of action, drama, science fiction, romance and suspense. The film is an adaptation of a novel with the same name as the movie. Here we will follow the story of a married couple living peacefully on their farm, but everything takes a turn when a stranger appears on the farm and informs them that the husband was selected to send him to a large space station, all with the purpose of finding solutions to the great problem of environmental impact on planet earth.

What happens in the movie?

Let's talk a little about what happens in the film, it begins with a text giving us a little context of the situation, apparently water and habitable land will be the most precious assets when cities are overpopulated, so settlements will have to be planned in larger spaces at the end of the century. The next thing we see is a woman crying in the shower, while she thinks that her husband does not see her with the same eyes as before, but as if she were a different person, she feels that she has lost parts of herself, which she does not know if she will be able to recover.

On the other hand, elsewhere people are displaced because of tornadoes, which are catastrophic with the current environmental situation. There are many situations of extreme heat and drought, which has caused many crops to be lost forever. Returning to our protagonists, a car arrives at the farm and the light it emits awakens Junior, who is the husband of the woman who had been crying in the shower. He quickly gets up and calls his wife, Hen, to ask if she is expecting someone. She looks at him a little surprised, but says that maybe it's someone who got lost. Junior, on the other hand, looks at her a bit puzzled as well.

Someone knocks on the door and mentions Hen and Junior's name, saying he has some important news that I'm sure they'd both like to hear. The guy's name is Terrance, he is in charge of the migration of people due to climate change, specifically to off-land housing. After explaining a bit the situation Terrance reveals the reason why he is there, Junior has been chosen for a special mission and go to the space station they have built and it is not an option they are offering Junior, if he does not want to have problems he must accept, although at the moment it is only a warning, the project may take a couple of years to start, so Hen and Junior must continue with their normal life as if nothing was happening, which curiously perhaps help them to return to see each other as they did before.

My opinion about the movie

From this point on I will talk about my opinion regarding the movie, without mentioning any spoilers in case anyone wants to enjoy the movie on their own. I will talk a little bit about the story, honestly it seemed to me a combination of elements that maybe there are already in other movies, but here they are adapted to a different story, for example it reminded me a little bit of an episode of Black Mirror from the last season, but it also has shades of catastrophe movies, so by combining these two elements we have a pretty interesting result, but if I'm honest, the story bored me much of the beginning and the reason for this is because it starts in a slow way and gradually escalates, but in terms of originality of the story, I'm pretty happy, I think the idea could have been expanded a little more, but still it was good.

The film really touches quite interesting topics, starting with the environmental impact, here we are shown how the world simply can not give us more and we are made to understand that it is really us who have been stealing from the earth, so the reflection of certain issues are taken quite into account and as a personal opinion, although the story touches on these issues, it seems to me that it was something that was simply mentioned a little, some of the consequences and that's it, so the theme of reflection goes beyond each person while knowing a little more about these events and how they are giving small samples of the changes generated due to all the problems.

I feel that the content of the movie is quite abstract, because as well as it touches us deep themes, we also have themes of couples, romance, fights, but, on the other hand, there is the theme of Junior's journey, so in a way the story becomes a little complex and if it bores you, I feel that you end up missing certain details that turn out to be important, although I will be very honest, I was not understanding the movie very well and that's just why I comment, my mind was not paying attention, but everything made sense once the movie reveals the plot twist almost at the end of the story, it certainly made me have a different perception of the whole movie, but before that point the movie seemed boring, I couldn't say if the plot twist saves the movie or not, I personally liked it after I understood everything, but I think it was very slow everything before.

A very good point in the film were the actors, honestly you can feel every emotion they want to convey, it seems to me that each of them adopted their role to perfection, because the film is full of emotions and even a simple look, or a subtle gesture gave much impact to the scenes, also, not only the actors did an excellent job, it seems to me that the characters are very well written, because you can appreciate a real change, the beginning, a development and of course an end. By only presenting a few characters in this movie (only three are the important ones) I think it was possible to go deeper into each one, I think this is the best of the whole movie, only the story seems to me that subtracted a little for the above mentioned, but this is just my opinion, but I repeat, I liked the movie, but the beginning was too slow and the end was too fast, there was no middle ground between the two, even so, it is a movie I would watch again, because after the end you get a different way to see it.

I end by saying that, I recommend this movie, although I admit that it is not for everyone, if you are people who get bored pretty fast, it is not a movie for you, but if a bit of science fiction with a quite unexpected plot twist catches your attention, it is a movie that is totally worth watching, besides the reflections that it leaves, that is another quite interesting point. El día de hoy ha sido bastante tranquilo, intenté adelantar cosas que tenía pendientes para así tomarme el resto del día y descansar un poco. Hablando con una amiga sobre películas, me dijo que había visto recientemente una película que le sorprendió bastante, pero no me dijo muchos detalles, solo me dijo que debía verla por mi cuenta para entenderla, aunque si les soy honesto la descripción no llamó mucho mi atención, pero aun así decidí darle una oportunidad, por lo que, sean bienvenidos queridos amantes del cine y las series de televisión, el día de hoy quiero contarles mi opinión sobre “Intruso”, comencemos.

Esta película, estrenada el 6 de octubre del año 2023, es una producción estadounidense que pertenece al género de acción, drama, ciencia ficción, romance y mucho suspenso. La película es una adaptación de una novela que lleva el mismo nombre de la película. Aquí seguiremos la historia de un matrimonio que vivía tranquilo en su granja, pero todo da un giro cuando un sujeto extraño aparece en la granja y les informa que el marido fue seleccionado para enviarlo a una gran estación espacial, todo con el propósito de encontrar soluciones al gran problema del impacto ambiental en el planeta tierra.

¿Qué sucede en la película?

Hablemos un poco de lo que sucede en la película, esta comienza con un texto dándonos un poco de contexto de la situación, al parecer el agua y las tierras habitables serán los bienes más preciados cuando las ciudades estén superpobladas, por lo que tendrán que planificarse asentamientos en espacios más amplios a finales del siglo. Lo siguiente que vemos es a una mujer llorando en la ducha, mientras piensa que su marido no la ve con los mismos ojos que antes, sino como si ella fuese una persona diferente, siente que ha perdido partes de ella misma, las cuales no sabe si podrá recuperar.

Por otro lado, en otras partes las personas son desplazadas a causa de tornados, los cuales son catastróficos con la actual situación ambiental. Hay muchas situaciones de calor extremo y sequía, lo que ha hecho que muchos sembradíos se perdieran para siempre. Volviendo con nuestros protagonistas, un auto llega a la granja y la luz que este emite despierta a Junior, quien es el esposo de la mujer que había estado llorando en la ducha. Rápidamente, se incorpora y llama a su esposa, Hen, para preguntarle si ella espera a alguien. Ella lo ve un poco sorprendida, pero dice que quizás sea alguien que se perdió. En cambio, Junior la ve a ella un poco extrañado también.

Alguien toca la puerta y menciona el nombre de Hen y Junior, diciendo que tiene unas noticias importantes que seguro ambos querrán escuchar. El sujeto se llama Terrance, él está encargado de la migración de las personas por el cambio climático, específicamente a viviendas fuera de la tierra. Luego de explicar un poco la situación Terrance revela el motivo por el cual está ahí, Junior ha sido elegido para una misión especial e ir a la estación espacial que ellos han construido y no es una opción que le están ofreciendo a Junior, si no quiere tener problemas debe aceptar, aunque de momento solo es un aviso, el proyecto puede demorarse un par de años en empezar, por lo que Hen y Junior deben continuar con su vida normal como si nada estuviese ocurriendo, lo que curiosamente quizás les ayude a volver a verse como antes lo hacían.

Mi opinión sobre la película

A partir de este punto hablaré de mi opinión con respecto a la película, sin mencionar ningún spoiler para si alguno quiere disfrutar de la película por su cuenta. Hablaré un poco de la historia, honestamente me pareció una combinación de elementos que quizás ya hay en otras películas, pero aquí son adaptados a una historia diferente, por ejemplo me recordó un poco a un capítulo de Black Mirror de la última temporada, pero también tiene matices de películas de catástrofes, por lo que al combinar estos dos elementos tenemos un resultado bastante interesante, pero que si les soy honesto, la historia me aburrió gran parte del comienzo y la razón de esto es porque empieza de una manera lenta y poco a poco va escalando, pero en temas de originalidad de la historia, estoy bastante contento, me parece que se pudo expandir la idea un poco más, pero aun así fue buena.

La película realmente toca temas bastante interesantes, empezando con el impacto ambiental, aquí se nos muestra cómo el mundo simplemente ya no puede darnos más y se nos hace entender que realmente somos nosotros quienes les hemos estado robando a la tierra, por lo que la reflexión de ciertos temas se toman bastante en cuenta y como opinión personal, aunque la historia toca estos temas, me parece que fue algo que simplemente mencionan un poco, algunas de las consecuencias y ya, por lo que el tema de la reflexión va más allá de cada persona mientras conoce un poco más sobre estos sucesos y cómo van dando pequeñas muestras de los cambios generados debido a toda la problemática.

Siento que el contenido de la película es bastante abstracto, porque así como nos toca temas profundos, también tenemos temas de parejas, romance, peleas, pero, por otro lado, está el tema del viaje de Junior, por lo que de cierta manera la historia se torna un poco compleja y si te aburre, siento que te terminas perdiendo ciertos detalles que resultan ser importantes, aunque les seré muy honesto, yo no estuve entendiendo muy bien la película y es justo por lo que comento, mi mente no estaba prestando atención, porque eran tantas las cosas que estaban pasando y los cambios abruptos de situación que simplemente me desconectaba, pero todo tomó sentido una vez la película revela el giro de trama casi al final de la historia, ciertamente me hizo tener una percepción distinta de toda la película, pero antes de ese punto la película me parecía aburrida, no sabría decir si el giro de traba salva la película o no, a mí en lo personal me gustó luego de entender todo, pero me parece que fue muy lento todo lo anterior.

Un punto muy bueno en la película fueron los actores, honestamente se siente cada emoción que quieren transmitir, me parece que cada uno de ellos adoptó su papel a la perfección, porque la película está repleta de emociones y hasta una simple mirada, o un gesto sutil le daba mucho impacto a las escenas, además, no solo los actores hicieron un excelente trabajo, me parece que los personajes están muy bien escritos, porque se aprecia un cambio verdadero, el inicio, un desarrollo y por supuesto un final. Al solo presentarse pocos personajes en esta película (solo tres son los importantes) me parece que se pudo profundizar más en cada uno, me parece que esto es lo mejor de toda la película, solo la historia me parece que le restó un poco por lo anteriormente mencionado, pero esto es solo mi opinión, aunque repito, la película me gustó, pero el principio fue demasiado lento y el final fue muy rápido, no hubo un punto medio entre ambos, aun así, es una película que volvería a ver, porque luego del final se obtiene una manera distinta de verla.

Finalizo diciendo que, recomiendo esta película, aunque admito que no es para todos, si son personas que se aburren bastante rápido, no es una película para ustedes, pero si les llama la atención un poco de ciencia ficción con un giro de trama bastante inesperado, es una película que vale totalmente la pena ver, además de las reflexiones que deja, eso es otro punto bastante interesante.
