There are many factors that influence me to watch a movie, but when it's one that I've already seen a long time ago is because it constantly comes up in different social networks and this only increases my desire to see it again, especially when I feel that I don't remember the concept or the message of the film very well. Taking advantage of the fact that I had a relatively free day after attending an event, I took the liberty to watch the movie I had so much in mind, so welcome to a new review, dear friends of the community, the movie I want to talk about is called "Extraordinary", let's start with the review.

This film was released on November 14, 2017, being an American production that belongs to the genre of comedy and drama, a combination that is understood by knowing a little of the story, which as a curious fact is based on a book. Here we will follow the story of a little boy named August with a clear deformity in his face and this made him never go to school with other children, but the time has come to do so and this will not be easy at all for little August, having to adapt to a new environment is not always simple.
What happens in the movie?
Let's talk a little bit about what happens in the movie to get some context. The film begins with a cute scene of a little astronaut who is quickly introduced to us as August, a 10 year old boy who considers himself ordinary because of the things he does and as he tells us this we see him doing different activities, but always with an astronaut helmet on. Later he reveals what makes him a non-ordinary child and that is that at birth he was born with many difficulties, to the point of needing more than 27 operations to allow him to breathe, hear without a device, see and also improve his appearance a little.

Due to this deformity he did not have much contact with other children, so his mother gave him lessons at home and thus did not let her son lack education, but this could not go on forever, so, in a discussion between his parents, his father said that August was not ready, but his mother said she could not give him lessons at home forever and that it was best to try before it would be more difficult later. After this little introduction guided by Auggie (August's affectionate nickname), August takes off his helmet and reveals the appearance of his face, which clearly has a deformity and is nothing like the face of an ordinary child.

Auggie is scared to death about starting the fifth grade in a public school, but there is nothing he can do to stop it from happening. So begins the new adventure of little Auggie, who is greeted by the school principal, who tries to ease the situation a little by telling some jokes and it works. After explaining a bit about how things are there, the principal calls three other children to show Auggie around the school, but Auggie is frightened to learn that he has to meet other children so soon, but his mother calms him down and assures him that everything will be fine. When the other children meet Auggie they try not to react to the obvious, so they just wave and try not to look him in the face.
Auggie goes off with the other kids who start showing him around the school. In the process there is a girl who keeps talking about herself and all the things she has done. Although nothing out of the ordinary happens on the tour, Auggie is not entirely comfortable with certain comments that seem to be harmless; however, there is one boy who seems to stand up for Auggie and seems to be the one Auggie may have a friendship with. While they ask questions to each other, one of the kids can't help but ask perhaps the question that everyone is asking, he asks him about what happened to his face, which clearly puts the whole situation in tension and this only makes us understand how complicated little Auggie's adaptation will be.

My opinion about the movie
This movie has different things I want to talk about, so from this point on it will just be my opinion without mentioning any spoilers of the movie and I will start with the story. I think this is the first movie that deals with a subject like this or at least it is the first movie that I have seen with this kind of story and this made it seem quite striking to me. Connecting with movies with child protagonists is usually quite simple, but taking it to the point where the situation is somewhat complicated and very similar to real life makes us have some kind of reflection and this is what the film is based on, a constant reflection that will allow us to know a little more about people and their differences.
Something that caught my attention is the way the story is told, in a way it is not a linear story, we will find certain moments, we will repeat days, but we will change the perspective of the characters and this seemed excellent to me, because this way we can understand how each character is affected by the situation, which gives us a broader picture so that the story can make even more sense. Each of the characters undoubtedly has a palpable difference, this generates that we can connect with them according to our thoughts and emotions. This technique has always seemed appropriate when you want the audience to feel integrated into the plot.

This movie has comedy and drama, but I consider that the plot is totally overshadowed by the seriousness of the story, of course there are moments where you can laugh, but for the most part the drama is the most present in the film and it makes perfect sense, the plot is telling us the reality of a 10 year old boy who clearly does not understand how to make a connection with the environment outside the home and this leads us to something else, the kind of comedy that can be appreciated is a bit for kids and again it makes a lot of sense, it is a combination that really pays off in a movie when it is done in the right way and here I think they succeeded.
Although I talked a little about the characters, I also want to emphasize the actors, there are big names in this movie, such as Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, both do an excellent role as parents, they connect perfectly with the feelings of parents who have to go through a complicated situation for the condition of their child, but not only they did an excellent job, the actor who played Auggie also did a great job, I would say that without his charisma the movie would not have worked at all. Along with the actor, I must mention that the makeup for Auggie's deformity was also excellent, there are many incredible aspects in the film such as the composition of scenes, the transitions, the music and the outcome of everything, without a doubt an excellent story with a lot to teach and show that we are all extraordinary.

Son muchos los factores que me influyen a ver una película, pero cuando se trata de una que ya he visto hace tiempo es porque me sale constantemente en diferentes redes sociales y esto solo aumenta mis ganas de volverla a ver, más cuando siento que no recuerdo muy bien el concepto o el mensaje de la película. Aprovechando que tuve un día relativamente libre luego de asistir a un evento, me tomé la libertad de ver la película que tanto había tenido en mente, así que sean bienvenidos a una nueva reseña, queridos amigos de la comunidad, la película de la que quiero hablarles lleva por nombre “Extraordinario”, comencemos con la reseña.

Esta película fue estrenada el 14 de noviembre del año 2017, siendo una producción estadounidense que pertenece al género de la comedia y el drama, una combinación que se entiende al conocer un poco la historia, que como dato curioso está basada en un libro. Aquí seguiremos la historia de un pequeño niño llamado August con una clara deformación en su rostro y esto hizo que nunca fuese a la escuela con otros niños, pero ha llegado el momento de hacerlo y esto no será nada fácil para el pequeño August, tener que adaptarse a un nuevo entorno no siempre es sencillo.
¿Qué sucede en la película?
Hablemos un poco de lo que sucede en la película para tener un poco de contexto. La película comienza con una linda escena de un pequeño astronauta que rápidamente se nos presenta como August, un niño de 10 años de edad que se considera ordinario por las cosas que hace y mientras nos cuenta esto lo vemos realizar diferentes actividades, pero siempre con un casco de astronauta puesto. Más adelante nos revela lo que le hace un niño no ordinario y es que en su nacimiento nació con muchas dificultades, hasta el punto de necesitar más de 27 operaciones que le permitieran respirar, escuchar sin un aparato, ver y también mejorar un poco su apariencia.

Debido a esta deformidad no tuvo mucho contacto con otros niños, por lo que su madre le daba clases en casa y así no dejaba que su hijo le faltase educación, pero esto no podía seguir así para siempre, por lo que, en una discusión entre sus padres, su papá aseguraba que August no estaba listo, pero su madre decía que no podría darle clases en casa para siempre y que lo mejor era intentarlo antes de que sea más difícil después. Luego de esta pequeña introducción guiada por Auggie (apodo cariñoso de August), este se quita el casco y revela así la apariencia de su rostro, que claramente tiene una deformidad y no es nada parecido al rostro de un niño ordinario.

Auggie tiene mucho miedo por pronto comenzar el quinto grado en una escuela pública, pero no hay nada que pueda hacer para que no suceda. Así comienza la nueva aventura del pequeño Auggie, quien es recibido por el director de la escuela, quien intenta alivianar un poco la situación diciendo algunos chistes y funciona. Luego de explicar un poco cómo son las cosas allí, el director llama a otros tres niños para que le enseñen la escuela a Auggie, pero este se asusta al saber que debe conocer a otros niños tan pronto, pero su madre lo calma y le asegura que todo saldrá bien. Cuando los otros niños conocen a Auggie intentan no reaccionar ante lo evidente, por lo que solo saludan e intentan no mirarle a la cara.
Auggie se va con los otros niños quienes empiezan a mostrarle la escuela. En el proceso hay una niña que no deja de hablar sobre ella misma y todas las cosas que ha hecho. Aunque en el recorrido no pasa nada fuera de lo común, Auggie no se siente del todo cómodo por ciertos comentarios que parecen ser inofensivos; sin embargo, hay un niño que parece defender a Auggie y parece ser con el que Auggie puede tener una amistad. Mientras se hacen preguntas entre sí, uno de los niños no puede evitar hacer quizás la pregunta que todos se hacen, le pregunta sobre qué le sucedió en el rostro, lo que claramente pone toda la situación en tensión y esto solo nos hace entender lo complicado que será la adaptación del pequeño Auggie.

Mi opinión sobre la película
Esta película tiene diferentes cosas de las que quiero hablar, por lo que a partir de este punto solo será mi opinión sin mencionar ningún spoiler de la película y comenzaré por la historia. Creo que esta es la primera película que trata un tema así o al menos es la primera película que yo he visto con este tipo de historia y esto hizo que me pareciera bastante llamativa. Conectar con las películas con protagonistas niños suele ser bastante sencillo, pero llevarlo al punto en que la situación sea un tanto complicada y muy parecida a la vida real nos hace tener cierto tipo de reflexión y en esto se basa la película, una constante reflexión que nos permitirá conocer un poco más de las personas y sus diferencias.
Algo que llamó mucho mi atención es la manera de contar la historia, de cierta manera no es una historia lineal, encontraremos ciertos momentos, repetiremos días, pero cambiaremos de la perspectiva de los personajes y esto me pareció excelente, porque de esta manera podemos entender cómo afecta a cada personaje según la situación, lo que nos da un panorama más amplio para que la historia pueda tener incluso más sentido. Cada uno de los personajes sin duda tiene una diferencia palpable, esto genera que podamos conectar con ellos según nuestro pensamiento y emociones. Esta técnica siempre me ha parecido adecuada cuando quieres que el público se sienta integrado en la trama.

Esta película cuenta con comedia y drama, pero yo considero que la trama es totalmente opacada por la seriedad de la historia, claro que hay momentos donde te puedes reír, pero en su mayoría el drama es lo más presente de la película y tiene todo el sentido, la trama nos va relatando la realidad de un niño de 10 años que claramente no entiende cómo hacer conexión con el entorno fuera de casa y esto nos lleva a otra cosa, el tipo de comedia que se puede apreciar es un poco para niños y nuevamente tiene mucho sentido de que sea así, es una combinación que realmente vale la pena en una película cuando se hace de la manera que corresponde y aquí considero que lo lograron.
Aunque hablé un poco de los personajes, también quiero recalcar a los actores, hay grandes nombres en esta película, como lo son Julia Roberts y Owen Wilson, ambos hacen un excelente papel como padres, conectan a la perfección con los sentimientos de unos padres que tienen que pasar por una situación complicada por la condición de su hijo, pero no solo ellos hicieron un excelente trabajo, el actor que interpretó a Auggie también lo hizo genial, diría que sin su carisma no habría funcionado del todo la película. Aunado al actor, debo mencionar que el maquillaje para la deformidad de Auggie también fue excelente, hay muchos aspectos increíbles en la película como la composición de escenas, las transiciones, la música y el desenlace de todo, sin dudas una excelente historia con mucho para enseñar y demostrar que todos somos extraordinarios.

Oye está película me la he querido ver como dices deja muchos mensajes y me llama la atención que está inspirada de un libro que se llama la lección de Agust.
Espero puedas verla pronto, seguramente te guste. Yo todavía no he leído el libro, pero si tengo ganas de hacerlo para ver qué tanto parecido hay entre el libro y la película.
I quite enjoyed the movie and the cast it's awesome but I must admit I don't find it truly moving.
I think I can understand why you don't find it as moving, compared to other films I don't think it's one of the best, but I think it still leaves a meaningful message.
I saw this movie and I really loved it. I like films of this genre, drama with some comedy so that everything is not too sad, but still in many moments I got a little teary-eyed with the plot, a beautiful story and very inspirational.
