There are many films that could become classics that everyone has seen at least once in their lives, and focusing on Disney films, there are many that are part of that, but I must mention that, although I have seen many, there are many others that I have definitely never seen even once in my life, although I have at least some idea of them. In a conversation, I mentioned that I had not seen the movie I am going to talk about today, and they made me watch it right then and there, so let's talk about “The Emperor's New Groove.”

This film, released in 2000, is an American production that belongs to the extensive catalog of Walt Disney Pictures and, like many of its films, belongs to the animation, comedy, and fantasy genres. Here we find a very entertaining story in which we follow a young emperor who acts irresponsibly and doesn't care about his people. The emperor receives a kind of curse (by accident) that turns him into a llama, and to become human again, he must trust someone for the first time in his life, but let's talk about that in more depth.
What happens in the movie?
Our story begins in a complicated way. The first thing we see is a very sad llama in a melancholic setting, but the narrator tells us that this llama was once a human, but not just any human, but an emperor, Emperor Kuzco, who tells us from his perspective how he was a humble, and that out of envy, he was turned into a llama. However, as the introduction progresses, we begin to notice that perhaps he was not the humble and good emperor that the narrator wants us to believe.

Then we meet Yzma and her assistant Kronk. Yzma likes to have power, so she sometimes sits on the emperor's throne and does some of his work, which Kuzco doesn't like, so he fires Yzma, who doesn't take it well. Kuzco continues with his agenda and receives visits from his people, including the villager Pacha, who was asked to help with a problem the emperor was having. The emperor asks him to point out the best place in his village. Pacha points to his home, and that is all the emperor needs. He has decided to tear down Pacha's home, where he and his family have lived for six generations, and Pacha, unable to do anything, is thrown out.

On the other hand, Yzma plans a way to get rid of Kuzco so that she can take over the kingdom and become the one in power. They decide to poison him at dinner and then get rid of him. The plan could have been successful, but Kronk mistakes the potion and instead of giving him the poison, he gives him a potion that turns the emperor into a llama. To try to fix it, Yzma asks Kronk to get rid of Kuzco. Kronk tries, but being so kind, he doesn't do it. However, by mistake, he loses Kuzco, who ends up in Pacha's cart by accident, and Pacha takes him to his village. There we meet Pacha's family, a lovely, loving family who will soon be evicted from their land. And that's how Kuzco finds himself trapped, not knowing how to get back. Only Pacha can help him, but to do so, Kuzco has to try to trust the man he had decided to evict from his land just hours earlier.

My opinion about the movie
From this point on, I will only talk about my opinion of the film and will not mention any spoilers, so you can read it without worry. Let's start with the plot. Although it is a rather fantastical story from the outset, introducing us to a llama that used to be a human, we can already get an idea of how serious the rest of the story will be, and the truth is that it ends up being very entertaining, because it is this type of plot where our protagonist has to undergo a certain type of development to understand why his environment is the way it is with him and also to get to know himself a little better, so the plot guides us through this adventure with many hilarious situations along the way.
The best thing about the movie is its comedy, or at least it was for me. I was laughing from the very first minutes. I guess the way certain scenes are animated makes them even funnier. As I said, at the beginning there is a sad llama, and the animation is undoubtedly very funny, so right from the start you realize that comedy will be the order of the day in every scene, and that's exactly how it is. from the jokes, the random situations, and the moments of awkward silence, they make a perfect combination of things that keep you laughing as the movie progresses.

I wanted to talk about the animation, which, obviously, considering that it dates back to 2000, we can't judge it as a current film, but I definitely like it a lot. I love how films used to be, the visual aspect was very important in terms of what they showed, and although the scenes may seem simpler, care is taken with all the content of the story and the jokes of the moment, so they may go unnoticed in certain scenes where the background is quite simple, but that doesn't matter, at least to me, because the character design is so well done that you don't notice the rest.
I have always enjoyed films that leave a message, and this is one of them, but at the same time, they don't forget that it's a film meant to be enjoyed, so they don't take it too seriously. Instead, they approach it in the most charismatic way possible, and that's what I liked the most. because even at 28 years old, I laughed and had a blast watching a movie from 25 years ago. Without a doubt, that's the magic of doing something well from start to finish, knowing how to connect with people even as the years go by. As far as I'm concerned, it's a movie that deserves to be one of the best known. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Hay muchas películas que pueden llegar a ser clásicos que todas las personas han visto al menos una vez en su vida y centrándome en las películas de Disney existen muchas que son parte de ello, pero debo mencionar que, aunque he visto muchas, hay muchas otras que sin duda no he llegado a ver ni una vez en mi vida, aunque tenga al menos una idea de ello y en una conversación mencioné que no había visto la película de la que les voy a hablar hoy y me hicieron verla en ese momento, así que, hablemos de “Las locuras del emperador”.

Esta película estrenada en el año 2000 es una producción estadounidense que pertenece al gran catálogo de la productora de Walt Disney Pictures y, como muchas de sus películas, pertenece al género de la animación, comedia y fantasía. Aquí encontraremos una historia muy divertida donde seguiremos a un joven emperador, el que actúa de forma irresponsable sin importarle su pueblo. El emperador recibe una especie de maldición (por accidente) que lo convierte en una llama y para volver a convertirse en humano debe confiar en alguien por primera vez en su vida, pero hablemos más de ello en profundidad.
¿Qué sucede en la película?
Nuestra historia comienza de una forma complicada, lo primero que vemos es a una llama muy triste en un entorno más melancólico, pero la voz que nos narra nos habla que esa llama alguna vez fue un humano, pero no cualquier humano, sino un emperador, el emperador Kuzco y este nos va relatando desde su perspectiva el cómo era un emperador humilde, bueno y que por envidia lo convirtieron en una llama, pero acorde avanza la introducción, vamos notando que quizás no fue el humilde y buen emperador que nos quiere vender con su introducción.

Luego conocemos a Yzma y su asistente Kronk. Yzma le gusta tener poder, por lo cual a veces se sienta en el trono del emperador y hace un poco de su trabajo, a lo cual Kuzco no le gusta y por ello despide a Yzma, quien no se lo toma de buena manera. Kuzco prosigue con su agenda y recibe visitas de su pueblo, entre ellos el aldeano Pacha, quien fue solicitado para ayudar con una problemática del emperador, el cual le pide que señale el mejor lugar de su aldea, Pacha señala su hogar y eso era todo lo que necesitaba el emperador, quien ha decidido derrumbar el hogar de Pacha quien junto a su familia han vivido unas 6 generaciones y Pacha sin poder hacer nada es echado de allí.

Por otro lado, Yzma planea una manera de acabar con Kuzco, para que así ella pueda quedarse con el reino y ser quien tenga el poder, por lo que deciden envenenarlo en la cena y luego deshacerse de él y el plan pudo haber tenido éxito, pero Kronk se equivoca de poción y en vez de darle el veneno, le da una poción que convierte al emperador en llama. Para intentar solucionarlo, Yzma le pide a Kronk que se deshaga de Kuzco. Kronk lo intenta, pero al ser tan bueno no lo hace, pero por equivocación pierde a Kuzco, quien termina en la carreta de Pacha por accidente y este lo lleva a su aldea. Allí conocemos a la familia de Pacha, una linda familia amorosa que pronto serían echados de su tierra. Y así es como Kuzco se ve atrapado sin saber cómo regresar, solo Pacha puede ayudarlo, pero para ello Kuzco tiene que intentar confiar en el hombre al cual horas antes había decidido desalojar de sus tierras.

Mi opinión sobre la película
A partir de este punto les hablaré solo sobre mi opinión de la película y no mencionaré ningún spoiler por lo que pueden leerlo sin preocupaciones. Empecemos con la trama, si bien es una historia bastante fantasiosa de entrada al presentarnos una llama que antes era un humano ya podemos tener una idea de cómo será el resto de la historia en cuanto a seriedad y la verdad es que termina siendo muy entretenida, porque es este tipo de tramas donde nuestro protagonista tiene que tener cierto tipo de desarrollo para entender por qué su entorno es como es con él y también conocerse un poco más, por lo que la trama nos va guiando en esta aventura con muchas situaciones hilarantes en el camino.
Lo mejor de la película es su comedia o al menos para mí lo fue, desde los primeros minutos ya estaba riendo, supongo que la forma de animar ciertas escenas las hace incluso más divertidas, como bien decía, al principio aparece una llama triste y la animación es sin duda muy graciosa, por lo cual de entrada se empieza a notar que la comedia estará a la orden del día en cada escena y es justamente así, desde los chistes, las situaciones random y los momentos de silencio incómodo hacen un perfecto conjunto de cosas para que no puedas dejar de reír mientras más avanza la película.

Quería hablar de la animación, la cual evidentemente si tenemos en cuenta que pertenece al año 2000 tampoco podemos juzgarla como una película actual, pero definitivamente me gusta bastante, adoro como eran las películas de antes, el aspecto visual era muy importante en cuanto a lo que mostraban y si bien las escenas pueden verse más simplonas, se va cuidando con todo el contenido de la historia y los chistes del momento, por lo cual puede pasar por desapercibidos en ciertas escenas donde el fondo es bastante simple, pero sin duda eso no importa o al menos para mí, porque el diseño de los personajes está tan bien hecho que hace que no te fijes en el resto.
Siempre he disfrutado de las películas que dejan un mensaje y esta es una de ellas, pero no se olvidan al mismo tiempo de que es una película para divertirse, por lo cual no lo toman de una manera tan seria, sino que lo van abordando de la forma más carismática posible y esto es lo que más me ha gustado, porque aun a mis 28 años de edad, me reí y me divertí hasta más no poder con una película de hace 25 años, sin duda eso es la magia de hacer algo bien de principio a fin, saber conectar con las personas aun con el paso de los años, por lo que a mí respecta, es una película que se merece ser de las más conocidas 4.5 estrellas de 5.
