Greetings dear friends of the community, how are you today? I'm feeling pretty good and I decided that after a month and a few weeks I should see the movie that many people have talked about, reviewed and given very good reviews about it, I honestly wasn't very excited to see it, but today by chance it came to me again and I decided that it would be the right time to know if it was really as good as many people said (although there were also negative reviews) so, today I want to talk about the movie called "Nowhere", let's start with the review.

This movie released on September 29, 2023 is a Spanish production that belongs to the Netflix catalog and is a film of horror and suspense alike. In this new story presented by Netflix we will meet Mia, a pregnant woman who after trying to escape with her husband from the country (which was in a crisis in various aspects and on the brink of war) ends up inside a shipping container aboard a freighter, but when a terrible storm wreaks havoc this container ends up lost at sea and mine must do the impossible to survive.
Let's talk a little about what happens in the film and it begins with a radio broadcast where we know a little of the current situation in Spain (country where the film begins) where there is a shortage of vital resources so clearly not enough for everyone. From a van people who want to escape from the country to another country where the same measures are not implemented as in Spain and other countries, so our protagonists move between sea containers in moments of tension until they reach the container where everyone will be transported.

Inside the container we can get a little more information with what happens, as one of the people listen to the news and we learn that they have exterminated the elderly to control the lack of supply, but it didn't work much and the next target are children and pregnant women, this is the reason why the people who are in that container want to escape, because there are pregnant women and also some children, making the situation tense and confirming that our protagonist (Mia) is pregnant (although she confesses that she has not felt the baby move for some days) and that is the reason why she and her husband (Nico) are risking everything to escape.
We also learn that Mía and Nico had a daughter, but they don't explain what happened to her, but Nico assures us that she is dead and that it wasn't Mía's fault. We hear some noises outside the container, Nico goes to investigate and when they open the doors of the container, many people end up entering and separate Nico and Mia a little, but so many people can not go in the same container, so they demand that half of them go down and between that half they force Nico to go down too and go in another container, they have no other choice so each one travels in a different container, being alone.

These containers pass through checkpoints, where armed people check them to make sure there is nothing strange, the container where Mia is going is stopped and everyone hides in a secret compartment, which is discovered anyway, but Mia manages to climb on a box and when she does, seconds later the gunmen lunge at the other people, killing each of them, leaving only Mia inside the container (since they didn't see her) and Mia fears that Nico will suffer the same fate as the others, so she calls him on the phone, but Nico doesn't answer. Mia's container arrives at its destination and is placed on a freighter, once the freighter leaves, a terrible storm hits them so hard that makes the containers fall into the sea, Mia sees through a hole as the container where her husband was sinking to the bottom of the sea and no one could get out of there, So Mia decides to commit suicide, but when she was about to do it, she felt how her baby moved inside her, giving Mia the reason she needed to survive inside a container floating adrift, can she survive?

From this point on I will only talk about my opinion of the movie without spoilers so that those who want to see the movie can continue reading the review without problems and I want to start talking about the story and honestly I found it something quite original, I am not the person who most enjoys Netflix original content, but when they do something well it is accepted, it seems to me that the movie has a story that catches the attention from the beginning with the whole situation of the country, then the situation in which the people find themselves and ending with the situation in which Mia finds herself, there are really no moments to rest, the story does not allow you to do so and this makes it excellent.
The tension that is felt from the beginning of the film accompanies us at all times, the suspense is even palpable and that is precisely the strength of the story, it keeps you so immersed in the situations that it is difficult to get distracted, In my personal case since I started with the film until I finished it I was with my heart in my mouth of so much suspense for the things that were happening and even more knowing that there were many other things that could happen, no doubt I must say that the suspense section is hard to beat and I would even dare to say that in terms of suspense is the best of the year.

Something important to highlight and that I think should be recognized to the film is the fact that all the weight of the film falls on the protagonist, because she is almost the only person who appears on camera, so the actress did an impressive job to make the film feel so real, besides saying that much of the film there is no dialogue and makes sense of why it is so, but still without the dialogue the film entertains you and this is something that few films can do nowadays, but this one manages to keep you attentive and as I said before, with the suspense at the surface.
The only negative point I want to say is something more personal and is that there were many things in the film that did not make sense and that by logic could not happen that way, but I remember that it is a film that only meets the intention to entertain, so taking away a little logic of the film, if you are a person who likes movies to be as realistic as possible, this one may shock you a little, but if you are one of the other people who are not interested in these logical details, then the movie will be a total enjoyment, despite the logical aspect I enjoyed it a lot.

I want to finish by saying that I understand perfectly why so many people have given such good reviews of the movie, I already proved that each person was right, but I can also understand the people who did not like the movie, at the end of the day, it all depends on tastes. This is a movie not suitable for all audiences as there are some strong scenes, so I do not recommend watching it with small children. Saludos queridos amigos de la comunidad, ¿qué tal se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo bastante bien y decidí que luego de un mes y unas pocas semanas debía ver la película de la que muchas personas han hablado, hecho reseña y dado muy buenas críticas sobre ella, yo honestamente no tenía mucha emoción por verla, pero hoy por casualidad volvió a llegar a mí y decidí que sería el momento adecuado para saber si realmente era tan buena como decían muchas personas (aunque también hubieron criticas negativas) así que, el día de hoy quiero hablarles de la película llamada “Nowhere”, comencemos con la reseña.

Esta película estrenada el 29 de septiembre del año 2023 es una producción española que pertenece al catálogo de Netflix y es una cinta de terror y suspenso por igual. En esta nueva historia que nos presenta Netflix conoceremos a Mía, una mujer embarazada quien tras intentar escapar junto a su esposo del país (el cual se encontraba en una crisis en diversos aspectos y al borde de la guerra) termina dentro de un contenedor marítimo a bordo de un carguero, pero cuando una terrible tormenta hace estragos este contenedor termina perdido en el mar y mía debe hacer lo imposible para sobrevivir.
Hablemos un poco de lo que sucede dentro de la película y la misma comienza con una transmisión de radio donde conocemos un poco de la situación actual en España (país donde inicia la película) donde hay escasez de recursos vitales por lo que claramente no alcanza para todos. De una furgoneta salen personas que quieren escapar del país hacia otro dónde no estén implementadas las mismas medidas que en España y otros países, por lo que nuestros protagonistas se desplazan entre contenedores marítimos en momentos de tensión hasta llegar al contenedor donde todos serán transportados.

Dentro del contenedor podemos obtener un poco más de información con lo que sucede, ya que una de las personas escucha las noticias y nos enteramos que han exterminado a los ancianos para controlar la falta de abastecimiento, pero no funcionó mucho y el siguiente objetivo son los niños y las embarazadas, esta es la razón por la que las personas que están en ese contenedor quieren escapar, porque hay mujeres embarazadas y también algún niño, haciendo que la situación sea tensa y nos confirman que nuestra protagonista (Mía) está embarazada (aunque confiesa que no ha sentido al bebé moverse hace algunos días) y es la razón por la que ella y su esposo (Nico) están arriesgando todo para escapar.
También nos enteramos que Mía y Nico tenían una hija, pero no explican que sucedió con ella, pero Nico asegura que ella está muerta y que no fue culpa de Mía. Se escuchan unos ruidos fuera del contenedor, Nico se acerca a investigar y cuando abren las puertas del contenedor, muchas personas terminan entrando y separan un poco a Nico y Mía, pero tantas personas no pueden ir en un mismo contenedor, por lo que exigen que la mitad bajen y entre esa mitad obligan a Nico a bajar también e ir en otro contenedor, no les queda otra opción por lo que cada uno viaja en un contenedor distinto, estando solos.

Estos contenedores pasan por puntos de control, donde personas armadas los revisan para asegurarse que no haya nada extraño, el contenedor donde va Mía es detenido y todos se esconden en un compartimiento secreto, el cual es descubierto de todas maneras, pero Mía logra subirse sobre una caja y cuando lo hace, segundos después los hombres armados arremeten contra las demás personas, asesinando a cada una de ellas, dejando solo a Mía dentro del contenedor (ya que no la vieron) y Mía teme que Nico sufra el mismo destino que los demás, por lo que le llama al teléfono, pero Nico no responde. El contenedor de Mía llega a su destino y es colocado en un carguero, una vez que el carguero sale, una terrible tormenta los azota de manera tan fuerte que hace que los contenedores caigan al mar, Mía ve por un agujero como el contenedor donde iba su esposo se hunde al fondo del mar y sin que nadie pudiese salir de allí, por lo que Mía decide suicidarse, pero cuando estaba apunto de hacerlo, sintió cómo su bebé se movió dentro de ella, dando así el motivo que Mía necesitaba para sobrevivir dentro de un contenedor que flota a la deriva ¿podrá sobrevivir?

A partir de este punto sólo hablaré de mi opinión de la película sin spoilers para que aquellos que deseen ver la película puedan seguir leyendo la reseña sin problemas y quiero comenzar hablando de la historia y honestamente me pareció algo bastante original, yo no soy la persona que más disfruta el contenido original de Netflix, pero cuando hacen algo bien se acepta, me parece que la película tiene una historia que atrapa la atención desde el principio con toda la situación del país, luego la situación en la que se encuentran las personas y terminando con la situación en la que se encuentra Mía, realmente no hay momentos para descansar, la historia no te lo permite y esto hace que sea excelente.
La tensión que se siente desde un principio en la película nos acompaña en todo momento, el suspenso es hasta palpable y justamente eso es el fuerte de la historia, te mantiene tan sumergido en las situaciones que es difícil que te distraigas, en mi caso personal desde que empecé con la película hasta que la terminé estuve con el corazón en la boca de tanto suspenso por las cosas que estaban ocurriendo y más aún sabiendo que habían muchas otras cosas que podían ocurrir, sin duda debo decir que el apartado del suspenso es difícil de superar y hasta me atrevería a decir que en temas de suspenso es lo mejor del año.

Algo importante a destacar y que me parece que se le debe reconocer a la película es el hecho de que todo el peso de la película recae en la protagonista, porque es casi la única persona que aparece en cámara, por lo que la actriz hizo un trabajo impresionante para poder hacer que la película se sintiese tan real, además de decir que gran parte de la película no hay diálogos y tiene sentido del motivo del por qué es así, pero aún así sin los diálogos la película te entretiene y esto es algo que pocas películas pueden hacer actualmente, pero esta logra mantenerte atento y como bien lo he dicho antes, con el suspenso a flor de piel.
El único punto negativo que quiero decir es algo más personal y es que hubieron muchas cosas en la película que no tenían sentido y que por lógica no podrían ocurrir de esa forma, pero recuerdo que es una película que solo cumple con la intención de entretener, por lo que quitando un poco la lógica de la película, el resto de la película cumple perfectamente en todos sus aspectos, si eres una persona que le gusta que las películas sean lo más realista posible, puede que esta te choque un poco, pero si eres de las otras personas que no les interesan estos detalles lógicos, entonces la película será un disfrute total, yo a pesar del aspecto lógico la disfrute mucho.

Quiero finalizar diciendo que entiendo perfectamente porque tantas personas han dado criticas tan buenas de la película, ya comprobé que cada persona tenía razón, pero también puedo entender a las personas a las que no les gustó la película, a fin de cuentas, todo depende de los gustos. Esta es una película no apta para todo publico ya que hay ciertas escenas fuertes, por lo que no recomiendo verla con niños pequeños. Thank goodness you didn't give any spoilers, yours is one of the few reviews of this movie I've read. Will get it downloaded and see for myself.
Although I'm skeptical about the horror side of it, maybe I'll find a company to see it together 😂 nice review anyways.
