Greetings dear friends of the community, how are you today? I hope great. It had been more than a month since I had seen a K-Drama (which if anyone doesn't know what they are, in short, it refers to movies, videos, telefilms or TV series produced in the country of Korea) until a friend told me about one that she thought I might like, so I decided to give it a chance and I finished it yesterday, so let's talk about the K-drama "Bitch x Rich".

I could summarize the plot in a simple way, saying that it is kind of like "Elite" (Netflix Series of 2018 in which some working class young people end up studying in a private and exclusive high school for young people with influential and money families) but without the only attraction of Elite which were the sex scenes throughout the course of the seasons, instead in Bitch x Rich they do focus on a well-written story with a sense that makes everything fit together and is appealing enough to keep the viewer curious about what happens in the course of each of the episodes.

Let's meet our protagonist, Kim Hye-In, a young student from a poor family with a rather simple lifestyle who claims not to envy rich people until she gets a job to teach another upper-class student with some subjects that she struggles with, as the story progresses, Kim Hye-In wonders about the price of certain items that the upper class student has, she takes a picture of herself with a rather expensive bag and uploads it on Instagram, where it gets a lot of attention and many people consider her to be from a wealthy family as well, which she doesn't end up denying to try to get a lot of followers and thus charge for advertising on her social networks.

She repeats this process of taking pictures with objects that are not hers and so a story is created, until the real owner finds out what Kim Hye-In is doing, in order not to tell her mother and not to press charges, she ends up doing many favors so that she won't tell her mother. One of these favors causes Kim Hye-In to miss a very important exam and it was with the full intention of the upper class student to show that Kim Hye-In would do anything she asked no matter what.

Kim Hye-In decides to take revenge by ruining a presentation of the upper class student to enter Chungda International High School, this creates a huge problem and Kim Hye-In tries to solve it by talking to the high school principal who won't budge, Even so, Kim Hye-In waits for him in the parking lot of the institute for long hours without realizing that the director has already left, not expecting what was going to happen moments later, Kim Hye-In becomes the only witness to the murder of a student, which ends up making the director give her a scholarship at the international institute so that she does not tell what she saw. Kim Hye-In meets Baek Je-Na, the main suspect of the murder and who justly happens to be the most powerful in the whole international high school, being practically untouchable. So Kim Hye-In and Baek Je-Na end up facing each other in a kind of power struggle with many psychological attacks and strong situations, while trying to solve the mystery of the murder.

I must say that I liked it a lot, although at first I found it a slow start, it has 10 chapters and I consider that some things could have been cut because they do not contribute anything to the plot, but also say that at least they make you keep you expectant of how it continues. I repeat once again that I had the feeling of a plot similar to Élite, but the story of Bitch x Rich is undoubtedly much more entertaining, besides showing the Korean society in terms of social classes because it is something that is really rooted in their culture and seeing it in such a crude way is even somewhat grotesque at certain times, how power can control everything and the type of relationships that are obtained.

With respect to the characters, I loved them, they are not flat characters that are just there for filler, they really have their background and make the whole story stay in different plot threads that conclude in the same, plus they tell you a little bit about each character and so you can empathize or just hate more than you already did, because there are characters for all tastes in this series, some that you will love and others that you will hate, but that really makes the series worth watching, it makes you feel an explosion of emotions like no other, where I would say that injustice is the one that predominates the most and ends up being the main axis for all the others.

I don't know if the following I will say can count as a spoiler, but it has nothing to do with the plot, just to say that the way the last chapter ends, it looks like there will be a second season and it is more than necessary, because, although in the course of the series many crucial things are revealed to understand what happened, there are some others that are also not entirely clear so in the next season they should finish it. Something I wanted to say also regarding events that occur, is that there are certain moments when they show some hints that they want to paint you later as a big revelation in the story and honestly it seemed to me something very predictable, but in his defense also contains others that I swear had never crossed my mind, so it has a good balance and is quite enjoyable uncertainty.

I'll end by saying that if you like K-Dramas, this is a pretty good one that you'll want to watch, it wouldn't make my list of favorites (because believe me, I've seen quite a few) but it's one of the ones that would come closest to being one, so if you want to start one, give it a chance, I swear you'll want to finish it the same day you start it, that's how gripping the story becomes.

Saludos queridos amigos de la comunidad, ¿cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Espero que genial. Hacía más de un mes en que no veía un K-Drama (que si alguien no sabe qué son, en resumidas cuentas, se refiere a películas, videos, telefilmes o series de televisión producidas en el país de Corea) hasta que una amiga me habló de una que supuso podría gustarme, por lo que decidí darle una oportunidad y la terminé el día de ayer, por lo tanto, hablemos del K-drama “Perra y Rica”.

Podría resumir la trama de una manera sencilla, diciendo que es una especie de “Élite” (Serie de Netflix del año 2018 en la que unos jóvenes de clase obrera terminan estudiando en un instituto privado y exclusivo de jóvenes con familias influyentes y de dinero) pero sin el único atractivo de Élite que eran las escenas de sexo en todo el transcurso de las temporadas, en cambio en Perra y Rica sí se centran en una historia bien escrita y con un sentido que hace que todas las cosas encajen y sean bastante atrayentes para que el espectador se mantenga curioso de lo que suceda en el transcurso de cada uno de los episodios.

Conozcamos a nuestra protagonista, Kim Hye-In, una joven estudiante de una familia pobre con un estilo de vida bastante sencillo quien dice no envidiar a las personas ricas hasta que obtiene un empleo para enseñar a otra estudiante de clase alta con algunas materias que se le dificultan, según avanza la historia, Kim Hye-In se pregunta sobre el precio de ciertos artículos que tiene la estudiante de clase alta, se hace una fotografía con un bolso bastante caro y la sube a Instagram, donde recibe mucha atención y muchas personas consideran que ella es de una familia adinerada también, cosa que ella no termina negando para intentar conseguir muchos seguidores y así cobrar por publicidad en sus redes sociales.

Repite este proceso de tomarse fotografías con objetos que no son de ella y así se crea una historia, hasta que la verdadera dueña descubre lo que Kim Hye-In está haciendo, para no contarle a su madre y que esta no presente cargos, ella termina haciendo muchos favores para que no le cuente a su madre. Uno de estos favores provoca que Kim Hye-In no presentara un examen muy importante y fue con toda la intención de la estudiante de clase alta para demostrar que Kim Hye-In haría todo lo que ella pidiera sin importar el momento.

Kim Hye-In decide vengarse, arruinando una presentación de la estudiante clase alta para entrar al Instituto Internacional Chungda, esto genera un problema gigante y Kim Hye-In intenta solucionarlo hablando con el director del instituto quien no da su brazo a torcer, aun así Kim Hye-In le espera en el estacionamiento del instituto por largas horas sin percatarse de que el director ya se ha ido, sin esperar lo que iba a ocurrir momentos luego, Kim Hye-In se convierte en la única testigo del asesinato de una estudiante, lo cual termina haciendo que el director le dé una beca en el instituto internacional para que no cuente lo que vio. Kim Hye-In conoce a Baek Je-Na la principal sospechosa del asesinato y quien justamente es la más poderosa de todo el instituto internacional, siendo prácticamente intocable. Así Kim Hye-In y Baek Je-Na terminan enfrentádose en una especie de lucha de poder con muchos ataques psicológicos y situaciones fuertes, mientras se intenta resolver el misterio del asesinato.

Debo decir que me gustó mucho, aunque al principio me pareció un arranque lento, tiene 10 capítulos y considero que algunas cosas pudieron recortarse porque no aportan nada a la trama, pero también decir que al menos hacen que te mantengas expectante de cómo prosigue. Repito una vez más que estuve con la sensación de una trama parecida a Élite, pero la historia de Perra y Rica sin dudas es mucho más entretenida, además de mostrar la sociedad de corea en cuanto a las clases sociales porque es algo que realmente está arraigado en su cultura y verlo de una manera tan cruda resulta hasta en ciertos momentos algo grotesco, el cómo el poder puede controlarlo todo y el tipo de relaciones que se obtienen.

Con respecto a los personajes, me han encantado, no son personajes planos que sólo están ahí de relleno, estos realmente tienen su trasfondo y hacen que toda la historia se mantenga en diferentes hilos argumentales que concluyen en el mismo, además que te hablan un poco de cada personaje y así puedas empatizar o simplemente odiar más de lo que ya lo hacías, porque hay personajes para todos los gustos en esta serie, unos que te encantarán y otros que odiarás, pero eso hace que realmente valga la pena ver la serie, te hace sentir una explosión de emociones como ninguna otra, donde diría que la injusticia es la que más predomina y termina siendo el eje principal para todas las demás.

No sé si lo siguiente que diré pueda contar como un spoiler, pero no tiene nada que ver con la trama, simplemente decir que por como termina el último capítulo, tiene pinta de que habrá una segunda temporada y es más que necesario, porque, aunque en el transcurso de la serie se revelan muchas cosas cruciales para entender lo que sucedió, hay algunas otras que también no están del todo claras por lo que en la siguiente temporada deben terminar ello. Algo que quería decir también con respecto a sucesos que ocurren, es que hay ciertos momentos en que muestran algunos indicios que quieren pintarte luego como una gran revelación en la historia y honestamente me pareció algo muy predecible, pero en su defensa también contiene otras que juro nunca se me habían cruzado por la mente, así que tiene un buen equilibrio y es bastante disfrutable la incertidumbre.

Termino diciendo que si te gustan los K-Dramas, este es uno bastante bueno que querrás ver, no entraría en mi lista de favoritos (porque créanme, he visto bastantes) pero es uno de los que más cerca estarían de serlo, por lo que, si desean empezar alguno, denle una oportunidad, juro que querrán terminarlo el mismo día que lo empiecen, así de atrapante se vuelve la historia.
