Se ha estrenado una nueva entrega de la franquicia de ciencia ficción creada por James Cameron, "Avatar: Fire and Ash", secuela directa de **"Avatar: The Way of Water" y que sigue el relato de "Jake Sully" quien junto a "Neytiri" y su familia deben lidiar con la pérdida, lo cual hará surgir el dolor, odio y hasta desesperanza, pero el surgir de un nuevo enemigo, un clan creado desde el fuego, hará que no solamente una familia se una, sino toda una nación de Na'vi contra un enemigo en común.

A new installment in the science fiction franchise created by James Cameron has been released. James Cameron**, "Avatar: Fire and Ash", a direct sequel to **"Avatar: The Way of Water" and continues the story of "Jake Sully" who, together with "Neytiri" and her family, must deal with loss, which will bring forth pain, hatred, and even despair. En anteriores días, leí críticas en donde Cameron repite la fórmula narrativa de las anteriores dos películas; de igual manera y con verdaderamente expectativas bajas, decidí ver otra aventura más, otro enfrentamiento entre Na\u0027vi y humanos por el planeta Pandora. Desde un primer momento, al ver que esta historia es una secuela directa a los acontecimientos de "The Way of Water" no dejaba de pensar que posiblemente este debería ser el "The Empire Strikes Back", una historia impactante con uno o más eventos que cambiarían de manera radical Avatar y, aunque lamentablemente no fue así, de igual manera tanto Cameron junto a Rick Jaffa y Amanda Silver generaron una historia con muchos cambios que funcionarán como base para las (posibles) futuras secuelas.

In recent days, I read reviews in which Cameron repeats the narrative formula of the previous two films. Similarly, and with truly low expectations, I decided to watch yet another adventure, another confrontation between the Na'vi and humans over the planet Pandora. From the outset, seeing that this story is a direct sequel to the events of "The Way of Water," I couldn't help thinking that this should possibly be "The Empire Strikes Back," a shocking story with one or more events that would radically change Avatar. Although unfortunately this was not the case, Cameron, together with ** Rick Jaffa** and Amanda Silver created a story with many changes that will serve as the basis for (possible) future sequels.

A pesar de que el tiempo de desarrollo entre el segundo y tercer film fue corto, creo que Cameron junto a todo el equipo de CGI tenían adelantado todo el trabajo del diseño de escenografías, criaturas y parte de los Na'vi, pero de igual manera se nota la necesidad de perfeccionar lo hecho anteriormente y en esta oportunidad el diseño de todo el mundo generado por la mente de este director es mucho más impactante, esto debido a las entretenidas y bien dirigidas escenas de acción que en esta ocasión son múltiples y no hacen tan extensa la película a pesar de tener una duración de más de 3 horas; la movilidad y naturalidad de los Na'vi es lo que más me han sorprendido, es sin ninguna duda una gran demostración del excelente el uso del CGI.

Although the development time between the second and third films was short, I believe that Cameron and the entire CGI team had already completed all the work on the set design, creatures, and part of the Na'vi, but it is still clear that there was a need to perfect what had been done previously. This time around, the design of the entire world created by the director's mind is much more impressive, This is due to the entertaining and well-directed action scenes, which on this occasion are numerous and do not make the film seem too long, despite its duration of more than three hours. The mobility and naturalness of the Na'vi is what has surprised me the most; it is undoubtedly a great demonstration of the excellent use of CGI.

En esta película la narración comienza enfocada en el personaje de "Lo'ak", segundo hijo de "Jake Sully" y "Neytiri", en mi opinión la historia es relatada desde el punto de vista del "Colonel Miles Quaritch" en su versión de Na'vi; el desarrollo de este personaje ha mejorado mucho y es lo que más me ha llamado la atención en esta historia; su evolución como villano es excelente porque siempre he pensando que la necesidad de un potente antagonista es de suma importancia y "Quaritch" posiblemente sea el mejor personaje escrito en esta franquicia y por lo que sucede en esta tercera parte, me genera una gran expectativa de lo que será su futuro; otro personaje que también me ha gustado y espero que tenga mayor relevancia en el futuro, es "Varang", sí la otra contraparte de esta historia, líder de un clan que rechaza todo lo referente a las creencias de los Na'vi y los convierte en renegados y salvajes y esto si es que era necesario en esta franquicia y me gustó de que Varang sea lo sumamente despiadada, vil y fuerte líder porque se necesita otra amenaza más que este al nivel de los protagonistas del film.

In my opinion, the story is told from the point of view of "Colonel Miles Quaritch" in his Na'vi version; the development of this character has improved greatly and is what has caught my attention the most in this story; his evolution as a villain is excellent because I have always thought that the need for a powerful antagonist is of utmost importance, and "Quaritch" is possibly the best character written in this franchise. Because of what happens in this third installment, I have high expectations for his future. Another character that I also liked and hope will have greater relevance in the future is "Varang," the other counterpart in this story, leader of a clan that rejects everything related to the beliefs of the Na'vi and turns them into renegades and savages. This was necessary in this franchise, and I liked that Varang is an extremely ruthless, vile, and strong leader because another threat is needed that is on par with the protagonists of the film.

Avatar: Fire and Ash me pareció un muy buen film; posiblemente mi única crítica esté dirigida a la edición, en donde los saltos entre escenas me parecieron muy abruptos, pero del resto es un completo film que usa el drama familiar como base del conflicto, lo cual impulsa o motiva a cada personaje a cumplir su rol en la historia; en eso me pareció más que interesante porque, como dije anteriormente, es un gran complemento entre el film anterior y esta tercera parte; esa decisión de no realizar un salto temporal para este nuevo relato, sino una continuación de manera directa, fue la gran decisión y creo que hasta fortifica "The Way of Water". Sé que para muchos esta es una historia repetitiva y están en lo cierto; el conflicto, los enfrentamientos, el liderazgo de los mismos personajes pareciera que no avanzara en el relato, pero creo que en esta película en sí hay un cambio, necesario para generar algo nuevo; posiblemente sea algo radical, pero sí pienso que es necesario y habrá que esperar cómo Cameron lo desarrolla en una segura cuarta película a estrenarse dentro de 4 años.
