Nueva semana y nuevo concurso de la comunidad de CineTV en esta oportunidad debemos decir que film merece un Reboot o Remake y como nosotros haremos ese proyecto; me parece un tema muy interesante en dónde no solo podemos nombrar una película que primeramente haya creado mucha expectativa para después desilusionarnos, si no tenemos la oportunidad de poder describir como podemos hacer mejor esa historia, pienso que es una idea genial que no da la posibilidad de que nuestras mentes pueda jugar por un momento al ser guionista, productores y directores.

New week and new contest of the CineTV community, this time we must say which film deserves a Reboot or Remake and how we will do that project; I think it is a very interesting topic where we can not only name a film that first created a lot of expectation and then disappoint us, but we have the opportunity to describe how we can make that story better, I think it is a great idea that gives the possibility that our minds can play for a moment to be screenwriters, producers and directors.

Hace días mientras revisaba mi cuenta de Twitter y justamente leí un tuit en dónde hacía referencia a que proyectos cinematográficos deberían realizarse un Reboot o Remake; siendo específico en lo que estaba escrito en el tuit, indicaba que los clásicos del cine nunca se deberían rehacer o tener un reinicio y solamente los malos films son los que deberían tener reinicios o rehacer y justamente al leer eso pensaba en un film que fue sumamente malo, mal dirigido, mal escrito, mal actuado y que lo catalogo como uno de los peores films basados en un comic; el film a qué hago referencia es uno el cual tenía expectativas porque es uno de los héroes de DC Comics que más me gusta y que al realizar un film en versión de acción-real, pensaba en las muchas posibilidades de poder ver grandes escenas llenas de acción y gran uso del CGI; el personaje que hago referencia es el de "Green Lantern" que en el 2011 tuvo un estreno cinematográfico, convirtiéndose en un proyecto con gran presupuesto, buena promoción, gran uso del CGI, pero con un resultado final nefasto. Recordemos que esta película es una historia de origen, en dónde se refleja en uno de los muchos Green Lanterns provenientes de la Tierra; "Hal Jordan" es un piloto temerario que solo vuela aviones de prueba para una compañía llamada "Ferris Aircraft"; Hal es elegido por el anillo de poder que pertenecía a un Green Lantern llamado "Abin Sur" quien es el encargado de proteger el sector 2814 y justamente cuando llevaba a cabo una misión, es atacado por un ser poderoso llamado "Parallax", causando graves heridas, pero en su batalla puede huir hasta llegar a la tierra donde muere y en ese momento, el anillo debe buscar a otro con el poder de la esperanza para ser el nuevo portador y posiblemente convertirse en el nuevo Green Lantern y así tener una nueva oportunidad para enfrentar a un poderoso enemigo que pone en grave peligro a la Tierra y el universo.

A few days ago while I was checking my Twitter account and just read a tweet where I made reference to which film projects should have a Reboot or Remake; being specific in what was written in the tweet, it indicated that the classic films should never be remade or have a reboot and only bad films are the ones that should have reboots or remakes and just reading that I thought of a film that was extremely bad, badly directed, badly written, badly acted and that I consider it as one of the worst films based on a comic book; the film to which I make reference is one which I had expectations because it is one of the DC Comics heroes that I like the most and that by making a film in action-real version, I thought of the many possibilities of being able to see great scenes full of action and great use of CGI; the character I make reference is the "Green Lantern " which in 2011 had a film premiere, becoming a project with a big budget, good promotion, great use of CGI, but with a disastrous final result. Recall that this film is an origin story, where it is reflected in one of the many Green Lanterns from Earth; "Hal Jordan" is a reckless pilot who only flies test planes for a company called "Ferris Aircraft"; Hal is chosen by the power ring that belonged to a Green Lantern named "Abin Sur" who is in charge of protecting sector 2814 and just when he was carrying out a mission, he is attacked by a powerful being called "Parallax", causing serious injuries, but in his battle he is able to flee until he reaches the earth where he dies and at that moment, the ring must look for another with the power of hope to be the new bearer and possibly become the new Green Lantern and thus have a new opportunity to face a powerful enemy that puts the Earth and the universe in grave danger.

Está película es un acumulado de (pocas) buenas y (muchas) malas ideas; no hay un acto en este film en dónde haya un completo acierto y eso es porque está película abarca mucho en lo que es la historia de este héroe, por ejemplo el uso de un importante y poderoso villano como Parallax creo que fue algo muy apresurado, también la poca relevancia que tiene otro villano como es el de "Hector Hammond" el cual nunca representa una verdadera amenaza y el mal desarrollo de otro personaje que deberá convertirse en un gran villano como es "Sinestro"; cada una de estos personajes tiene mucha importancia en la historia porque afecta el comienzo del film, el segundo acto que se lleva en la tierra y una gran escena final que siendo sincero es algo completamente inexplicable; todo lo antes dicho es para resumir los fallos en su historia, pero creo que lo que afecta aún más es la elección de su protagonista, Ryan Reynolds no es de mis actores favoritos y eso es porque actúa de la misma manera en cada una de sus películas y solamente he disfrutado de su trabajo en el sitcom "Two Guys and a Girl" y por supuesto en "Deadpool", pero aparte de todo eso para mí siempre hace el mismo personaje, es como Dwayne "The Rock" y Vin Diesel quien repiten actuación en cada una de sus producciones; otro aspecto duramente criticado fue el uso del CGI, siendo sincero no tuve problema con el traje, una idea audaz que tal vez en ese momento no se vería bien y me gustaría ver una versión con los avances actuales en la animación; mi crítica más que nada es sobre el diseño de los otros personajes, más que nada de Parallax que no me gustó para nada, me pareció simple y aburrida y de igual forma la transmisión de Hammond que a pesar de ser grotesca, en realidad siempre he pensado que limitó al personaje, pero sin duda lo peor y lo que creo más decepción fue la representación de los poderes de Hal, sumamente caricaturesco y aburrido, nada sorprendente. Entre todo lo antes descrito, pienso que es justo que este film haya sido un completo fracaso y hasta creo que afectó a todo lo que fue creado pensando en lanzar un universo cinematográfico basado en DC Comics y es por eso que si puedo elegir en una historia que merece una mejor producción, es sin duda una sobre este héroe en dónde la luz verde de su anillo sirve como señal para la esperanza.

This film is an accumulation of (few) good and (many) bad ideas; there is not an act in this film where there is a complete success and that is because this film covers much in what is the story of this hero, for example the use of an important and powerful villain as Parallax I think it was something very hasty, also the little relevance that has another villain such as "Hector Hammond" which never represents a real threat and the bad development of another character that should become a great villain as is "Sinestro"; each of these characters has a lot of importance in the story because it affects the beginning of the film, the second act that takes place on earth and a great final scene that to be honest is something completely inexplicable; all of the above is to sum up the flaws in its story, but I think what affects even more is the choice of its main character, Ryan Reynolds is not one of my favorite actors and that's because he acts the same way in each of his movies and I've only enjoyed his work in the sitcom "Two Guys and a Girl" and of course in "Deadpool", but aside from all that for me he always plays the same character, it's like Dwayne "The Rock" and Vin Diesel who repeat performances in each of his productions; another aspect harshly criticized was the use of CGI, to be honest I had no problem with the suit, a bold idea that maybe at the time would not look good and I would like to see a version with the current advances in animation; my criticism more than anything is about the design of the other characters, especially Parallax that I did not like at all, I found it simple and boring and likewise the transmission of Hammond that despite being grotesque, in reality I have always thought that limited the character, but certainly the worst and what I think most disappointing was the representation of the powers of Hal, extremely cartoonish and boring, nothing surprising. Among everything described above, I think it is fair that this film has been a complete failure and I even think it affected everything that was created thinking of launching a cinematic universe based on DC Comics and that is why if I can choose a story that deserves a better production, it is undoubtedly one about this hero where the green light of his ring serves as a sign for hope.

Sé que este film o la historia de este personaje será llevado en algún momento a la pantalla grande y sé que muy pronto podemos tener información sobre una serie que lleva mucho tiempo desarrollándose, así que es claro que lo que funcionaria en este proyecto es un Remake, dejar todo lo hecho en el pasado y comenzar con algo nuevo; primero que nada pienso en que una historia de Linterna Verde no puede ser oscura o sombría (por los momentos no) y eso es porque está historia debería ser un origen, uno en dónde existe un enemigo, poderoso, pero a la vez misterioso que tenga el poder o un arma que ponga en peligro a todos los "Green Lantern Corps", es por eso que la historia comenzaría con un solitario Abin Sur persiguiendo a un fuerte criminal espacial, ser herido de mortalidad y después huir a un lugar alejado, a la tierra en dónde su inevitable muerte comienza la búsqueda de un nuevo usuario para el anillo de poder y cuando Hal Jordan sea elegido, entonces de forma inmediata viaja hacia el planeta Oa para comenzar su entrenamiento para saber si puede o no convertirse en el nuevo protector del sector 2814; desde ese momento hasta el final, toda la aventura ocurre en el espacio y eso es porque todo depende del entrenamiento que recibe Hal y de la investigación sobre la muerte de Abin Sur y eso es porque el anillo el cual Jordan es el portador todavía mantiene recuerdos de lo sucedido en el momento de la muerte de su anterior poseedor y es por eso que Los Guardianes deciden que para cumplir su entrenamiento, Hal Jordan será el compañero de "Thaal Sinestro" un duro Green Lantern el cual se rumora que tiene métodos totalitarios, pero al ser aprendiz de Abin Sur, decide que él es quien debe estar al frente del caso sin importar que tenga que cargar con Jordan como aprendiz, esto hará que de una forma se cree un vínculo entre los dos al momento de buscar a un criminal con un gran poder que podrá poner en grave peligro a los protectores del universo y no quedará otra que llegar hasta el final para saber quién en realidad es el culpable de todo este caso.

I know that this film or the story of this character will be taken at some point to the big screen and I know that very soon we can have information about a series that has been developing for a long time, so it is clear that what would work in this project is a Remake, leave everything done in the past and start with something new; first of all I think that a Green Lantern story can not be dark or gloomy (not at the moment) and that's because this story should be an origin, one where there is an enemy, powerful, but at the same time mysterious that has the power or a weapon that endangers all the "Green Lantern Corps", that's why the story would begin with a lonely Abin Sur chasing a strong space criminal, being mortally wounded and then fleeing to a remote place, to Earth where his inevitable death begins the search for a new user for the power ring and when Hal Jordan is chosen, then immediately travels to the planet Oa to begin his training to see whether or not he can become the new protector of sector 2814; From that moment until the end, the whole adventure takes place in space and that's because everything depends on the training that Hal receives and the investigation into the death of Abin Sur and that's because the ring which Jordan is the bearer still keeps memories of what happened at the time of the death of its previous holder and that is why the Guardians decide that to fulfill his training, Hal Jordan will be the companion of "Thaal Sinestro" a tough Green Lantern which is rumored to have totalitarian methods, but being an apprentice of Abin Sur, he decides that he is the one who should be in charge of the case regardless of having to carry Jordan as an apprentice, this will somehow create a link between the two when looking for a criminal with great power that could seriously endanger the protectors of the universe and there will be no other way but to go to the end to find out who really is the culprit of this whole case.

No tengo duda de que está idea es la que más me agrada con respecto a una nueva historia que muestre el origen de este héroe o de un grupo de héroes y es que en un posible nuevo film podemos ver el primer vuelo de Hal Jordan y también podemos ver cómo cada vez más un respetado Lantern transita un camino hacia el mal para convertirse en un temido villano y no solo eso, sino que en un futuro se puede explorar el ver a Hal Jordan como mentor de otros que serán elegidos para ser Linternas Verdes y eso podrá a prueba si tiene todo lo necesario para responder por otros, tener responsabilidad y ayudar a otros a convertirse en héroes y que no se pierdan en el camino de la maldad como lo hizo su primer mentor. Creo que hay muchas formas de tratar está historia sobre este personaje, puede ser reflejada en Hal Jordan o de "John Stewart" el cual también es un magnífico portador del anillo o porque no, una historia entre ellos dos, transformando este film en un "Buddy Cop" porque no hay que olvidar que los Green Lantern Corps son un equipo policial del espacio y creo que se puede tener una historia muy divertida, con un caso que resolver, mucha acción, CGI y dos héroes poderosos contra enemigos también poderosos; ojalá que muy pronto se pueda tener noticias positivas sobre este personaje así sea la serie para HBO Max o una serie animada o como ya dije, una película y es que lo único que puedo pedir es que sepan hacer las cosas, revisen el material de origen, hagan un mejor casting y por supuesto elegir a personas que se comprometan con el proyecto. Con esto termino mi participación en este concurso, para esta historia es perfecta para que se realice un Reboot y como he dicho, espero que muy pronto ocurra.

I have no doubt that this idea is the one that pleases me the most regarding a new story that shows the origin of this hero or a group of heroes and in a possible new film we can see the first flight of Hal Jordan and we can also see how more and more a respected Lantern travels a path to evil to become a feared villain and not only that, but in the future we can explore seeing Hal Jordan as a mentor to others who will be chosen to be Green Lanterns and that will test whether he has what it takes to answer for others, have responsibility and help others become heroes and not get lost in the path of evil as his first mentor did. I think there are many ways to treat this story about this character, it can be reflected in Hal Jordan or "John Stewart" who is also a magnificent ring bearer or why not, a story between the two of them, transforming this film into a "Buddy Cop" because we must not forget that the Green Lantern Corps are a police team from space and I think you can have a very fun story, with a case to solve, lots of action, CGI and two powerful heroes against powerful enemies; I hope that very soon we can have positive news about this character, whether it is a series for HBO Max or an animated series or as I said, a movie and the only thing I can ask is that they know how to do things, review the source material, do a better casting and of course choose people who are committed to the project. With this I end my participation in this contest, for this story is perfect for a Reboot to happen and as I said, I hope it happens very soon.
