Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - Movie Review [ES - EN]

En el 2018, con el estreno del film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", pensé que se estaba en una encrucijada de como debería ser en ahora en adelante las producciones animadas; esto lo digo por el estilo de animación que hizo que las escenas tanto de acción como de comedia sean tan impresionantes, tan frescas que era algo que no quería dejar de ver, pero lo mejor de esto fue la historia; el enfoque que se dio a un héroe Interpretado por muchos personajes de diferentes géneros y épocas, un héroe que comparte la responsabilidad de obtener un gran poder y que lo hizo obtener la convicción de empezar un camino para convertirse en un gran héroe; eso se refleja en la primera historia de esta trilogía que estrenó su segunda parte en este año y en dónde sus creadores también tiene la responsabilidad de igualar o mejorar su trabajo.

In 2018, with the release of the film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", I thought it was at a crossroads of how animated productions should be from now on; I say this because of the animation style that made both action and comedy scenes so impressive, so fresh that it was something I didn't want to miss, but the best thing about it was the story; the approach that was given to a hero played by many characters of different genres and times, a hero who shares the responsibility of obtaining a great power and that made him get the conviction to start a path to become a great hero; that is reflected in the first story of this trilogy that released its second part this year and where its creators also have the responsibility to match or improve their work.

En "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", veremos una secuela directa del "Into the Spider-Verse", pero en un principio desde una perspectiva diferente; en esta historia exploramos las vidas de "Gwen" y "Miles" después de salvar a los diferentes mundos que puso en peligro "the Kingpin" con la activación de la máquina llamada "Collider"; la vida es muy diferente para estos héroes arácnidos que deben lidiar con el peso de justamente eso, ser héroes, pero también deben lidiar con la soledad al no contar con alguien que en realidad los entiendan, eso los hace querer conectar, ser parte de algo y cuando justamente aparece un enemigo, "The Spot", que va escalando en peligrosidad, un enemigo creado del pasado y que posiblemente afecte el futuro, estos dos jóvenes héroes se deberán unir, aunque la amenaza de The Spot, no sea la única a la que deban superar.

In "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", we will see a direct sequel to "Into the Spider-Verse", but at first from a different perspective; in this story we explore the lives of "Gwen" and "Miles" after saving the different worlds endangered by "the Kingpin" with the activation of the machine called "Collider"; Life is very different for these arachnid heroes who must deal with the weight of just that, being heroes, but they must also deal with the loneliness of not having someone who really understands them, that makes them want to connect, to be part of something and when an enemy appears, "The Spot", which is escalating in danger, an enemy created from the past and possibly affect the future, these two young heroes must unite, although the threat of The Spot, is not the only one they must overcome.

Para esta película hubo un cambio en la dirección; los encargados de esta segunda parte serían: Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers y Justin K. Thompson; ellos junto a los creadores de esta magnífica historia y un enorme grupo de animadores, realizaron maravillosas escenas que en mi opinión hicieron ver obsoleta lo hecho hace cinco años; en un film animado en dónde las secuencias de acción son muy importantes, es genial como le dieron validez no solo a los ya conocidos protagonistas, sino también a los nuevos personajes que con sus notorias diferencias, por supuesto deberían crear escenas en dónde justamente sus principales características resalten, pero no todo es sobre las escenas de acción, ya que hay otras en dónde una simple conversación entre padres y sus hijos se convierte en algo muy importante, son escenas muy bien planeadas, con muchos detalles, cambios de perspectiva dependiendo de los sentimientos de los personajes en ese momento; un excelente trabajo y por ser un film animado da mucha libertad para que cada relato es muy bien acompañado por los cambios de escenografías y eso me pareció de lo mejor del film.

La historia es perfecta para esta secuela, es algo que se intuyó al final del film anterior y me agradó que se explore en esta primera parte de una historia dividida en dos; tanto "Into the Spider-Verse" como en "Across the Spider-Verse" son un claro ejemplo de un buen coming of Age y en esta oportunidad se nota aún más y eso es debido a la etapa que enfrenta Miles en dónde su adolescencia da indicio de su final y cada vez más sus decisiones lo harán estar más cerca des adultez; crecer es algo inevitable y es hora que este joven empiece a afrontar esa etapa, pero que sucede cuando se siente solo, no tiene a nadie a quien acudir, con quién hablar, en ningún momento confía en quien más ama y eso hace difícil su nueva etapa de héroe y no solo le sucede a él, sino a otros personajes que deben obligatoriamente lidiar con esos inconvenientes porque son etapas que deben afrontar para ser héroes; cada quien debe sufrir para ser héroes y esto es en parte el verdadero tema de esta historia, una incógnita que trata de "¿Para crecer se debe sufrir?" Esto es algo que desencadena una serie de eventos que hacen muy interesante a este film.

For this film there was a change in direction; the people in charge of this second part would be: Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson; they together with the creators of this magnificent story and a huge group of animators, made wonderful scenes that in my opinion made what was done five years ago look obsolete; in an animated film where the action sequences are very important, it is great how they gave validity not only to the already known protagonists, but also to the new characters that with their notorious differences, of course they should create scenes where just their main characteristics stand out, but not everything is about the action scenes, since there are others where a simple conversation between parents and their children becomes something very important, they are very well planned scenes, with many details, changes of perspective depending on the feelings of the characters at that moment; an excellent job and for being an animated film gives a lot of freedom so that each story is very well accompanied by the changes of scenery and that seemed to me the best of the film.

The story is perfect for this sequel, it is something that was intuited at the end of the previous film and I was pleased that it is explored in this first part of a story divided into two; both "Into the Spider-Verse" and "Across the Spider-Verse" are a clear example of a good coming of Age and this time it is even more noticeable and that is due to the stage facing Miles where his adolescence gives hint of its end and increasingly his decisions will make him closer to adulthood; Growing up is inevitable and it is time that this young man begins to face that stage, but what happens when he feels alone, he has no one to turn to, no one to talk to, at any time he trusts the one he loves the most and that makes difficult his new stage of hero and not only happens to him, but to other characters who must necessarily deal with these inconveniences because they are stages they must face to be heroes; everyone must suffer to be heroes and this is partly the real theme of this story, an unknown that deals with "To grow up you must suffer?" This is something that triggers a series of events that make this film very interesting.

Como dije anteriormente, el diseño y la animación son magistrales, las diferencias entre los personajes es algo obligatorio para que cada uno resalte no solo en las escenas, sino en la historia por completo y a pesar de que existe muy buenas versiones de Spider-man, debo decir que el diseño del personaje que más me ha gustado en este film, es "the Spot"; creo que no había visto un buen desarrollo de un villano desde hace un buen tiempo; me gustaron sus motivos y su inteligencia que posiblemente por lo que es, pareciera estar desorientado, pero al enfocarse en una sola misión eso parece que lo lleva a querer alcanzar su gran potencial y eso me pareció excelente. Sé que otros personajes como "Spider-Man India" o "Spider Punk", son excelentes elecciones para que tenga cierto protagonismo en la historia y agradezco eso porque por momentos me hicieron olvidar de "Spider-Man Noir" que me hizo falta en esta película, pero los mundos referentes de ambos personajes me impresionó y se me hizo entendible el porqué los tomaron en cuenta; con respecto a "Miles" y "Gwen", en algún momento del film se usa la frase de que son uno mismo, hay mucha referencia a eso y justamente este film es relatado desde el punto de vista de ambos; sus personajes son mejores que en el anterior film, sus motivos, preocupaciones, se explora mucho más los sentimientos de ambos y eso es excelente.

As I said before, the design and animation are masterful, the differences between the characters is mandatory for each one to stand out not only in the scenes, but in the story completely and although there are very good versions of Spider-man, I must say that the character design that I liked the most in this film, is "the Spot"; I think I had not seen a good development of a villain for a long time; I liked his motives and his intelligence that possibly for what it is, seems to be disoriented, but by focusing on a single mission that seems to lead him to want to achieve his great potential and that seemed excellent to me. I know that other characters like "Spider-Man India" or "Spider Punk", are excellent choices to have some prominence in the story and I appreciate that because at times they made me forget about "Spider-Man Noir" which I missed in this movie, but the worlds of reference of both characters impressed me and it was understandable why they were taken into account; with respect to "Miles" and "Gwen", at some point in the film is used the phrase that they are one and the same, there is a lot of reference to that and precisely this film is told from the point of view of both; their characters are better than in the previous film, their motives, concerns, the feelings of both are explored much more and that is excellent.

En el momento de ver "Across the Spider-Verse" sentí una plena felicidad, deseaba que no terminará porque estaba muy compenetrado a la historia y a las imágenes y lo mejor es que de ahora en adelante, esta historia de Miles Morales y Gwen Stacy, se convierte en mi franquicia favorita de "Spider-Man" y en mi opinión este debe ser el camino que cada película basada en personajes de cómics debería hacerse, tener el poder de la animación para llevar más allá todo lo que estos personajes pueden dar. Me alegra que este film supere a su predecesora y me agrada aún más la decisión que para el film que cierra esta Trilogía, se tome el tiempo necesario para crear algo que sea mejor de lo ya realizado; nuevamente diré que este es el plan para este tipo de películas que necesitan tiempo y mejor desarrollo para crear historias que perduren en el tiempo, que se sientan únicas, pioneras, que sean referencia a otras producciones y justamente tanto el primer como el segundo film de esta franquicia lo está haciendo. Vean "Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse", de las mejores películas en todo el año.

At the moment of watching "Across the Spider-Verse" I felt a full happiness, I wished it wouldn't end because I was so in tune with the story and the images and the best thing is that from now on, this story of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, becomes my favorite franchise of "Spider-Man " and in my opinion this should be the way that every movie based on comic book characters should be made, having the power of animation to take further all that these characters can give. I am glad that this film surpasses its predecessor and I am even more pleased with the decision that for the film that closes this Trilogy, they take the necessary time to create something that is better than what has already been done; again I will say that this is the plan for this type of films that need time and better development to create stories that last in time, that feel unique, pioneering, that are reference to other productions and justly both the first and the second film of this franchise is doing it. See "Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse", one of the best films of the year.
