"The Black Spot" | It: Welcome to Derry - Episode Review [ES - EN]

No hay ninguna duda de que el tema principal de toda esta historia es "El Miedo", es el motivo principal para que Eso haga de Derry su lugar perfecto para cazar, alimentarse, hibernar y así nuevamente comenzar un ciclo en donde la maldad cubre un lugar, lo cual genera víctimas y victimarios, quienes impulsan aún más la existencia del exquisito miedo; justamente es eso a lo que se hace referencia de una manera excelente en el gran séptimo episodio de "It: Welcome to Derry" llamado The Black Spot, un lugar para que los afroamericanos, quienes viven en ese pueblo, puedan divertirse y recrearse de diferentes maneras, pero cuando los prejuicios, la imposición y el mal uso del poder hacen presencia, entonces se genera uno de los eventos más aborrecidos y crueles en Derry.

There is no doubt that the main theme of this whole story is "Fear." It is the main reason why It makes Derry its perfect place to hunt, feed, hibernate, and thus begin a cycle again where evil covers a place, creating victims and victimizers, who further fuel the existence of exquisite fear. This is precisely what is referred to in an excellent way in the great seventh episode of "It: Welcome to Derry" called The Black Spot, a place where African Americans living in that town can have fun and enjoy themselves in different ways. but when prejudice, imposition, and the misuse of power make their presence felt, one of the most abhorrent and cruel events in Derry is generated.

Las expectativas que tenía por este episodio eran muy altas porque muchas subtramas de la serie deberían de una manera u otra terminar en este episodio; una de las características que más me ha llamado la atención era el protagonismo de muchos personajes considerados como secundarios, ya que tenía gran relevancia para el relato de diferentes acontecimientos de la serie y en ellos estuvo siempre la gran relevancia para generar un gran impacto al momento de estrenar este episodio y me pareció sumamente genial que cada uno de esos personajes obtuviera el reconocimiento para convertirse en personajes inolvidables. Este episodio fue dirigido por Andy Muschietti y escrito por Jason Fuchs, ambos creadores de la serie, lo cual me pareció una buena decisión contar con ambos para relatar una historia que debió ser un cierre, pero la realidad fue que siempre hay algo más que relatar y, como ya señalé anteriormente, las subtramas de la historia encontraron un cierre en este episodio, pero hubo otra más que tomó gran relevancia y nos señala el camino para el gran final.

My expectations for this episode were very high because many subplots in the series were supposed to come to an end in one way or another in this episode. One of the features that caught my attention the most was the prominence of many characters considered secondary, as they were highly relevant to the narrative of different events in the series and always played a significant role in generating a big impact when this episode premiered. I thought it was extremely cool that each of these characters got the recognition they deserved to become unforgettable characters. This episode was directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Jason Fuchs**_, both creators of the series, which I thought was a good decision to have both of them tell a story that should have been a conclusion, but the reality was that there is always more to tell and, as I pointed out earlier, the subplots of the story found a conclusion in this episode, but there was another one that took on great relevance and points us in the direction of the grand finale.

El trabajo de Muschietti es de lo mejor del episodio; todo el ataque que ocurre en el Black Spot es caótico, desesperante y terrorífico, todo eso sin contar con la presencia de Pennywise quien en cierto momento nuevamente hace otra excelente entrada en escena que lo exalta como uno de los mejores villanos en el mundo del entretenimiento; en sí, toda la escena desde su causa, sobre quiénes la realizan y su impunidad es de lo más terrorífico que ha demostrado la serie y, en mi opinión, es a causa lamentablemente de sucesos de la vida real (el linchamiento) en una historia de ficción y justamente ese horrible hecho toma mayor importancia al final del episodio. Ya lo había dicho en la reseña del primer episodio de la serie y estoy cada vez más convencido de que esta producción es una completa reivindicación de Muschietti por el criticable capítulo 2 de "It" y, por supuesto, por el aborrecible "The Flash"; en esta oportunidad puede captar el terror real, el sobrenatural y, por supuesto, captar la dulzura de dos personas que se verán por última vez; no hay duda de que es un gran trabajo del director argentino.

Muschietti's work is the best part of the episode; the entire attack that takes place in the Black Spot is chaotic, desperate, and terrifying, not to mention Pennywise's presence, who at one point makes another excellent entrance that elevates him as one of the best villains in the world of entertainment. In fact, the entire scene, from its cause to who carries it out and their impunity, is one of the most terrifying things the series has shown, and, in my opinion, it is unfortunately due to real-life events (lynching) in a fictional story, and it is precisely this horrible fact that takes on greater importance at the end of the episode. I already said it in my review of the first episode of the series, and I am increasingly convinced that this production is a complete vindication of Muschietti for the criticizable chapter 2 of "It" and, of course, for the abhorrent "The Flash." this time around, he is able to capture real terror, the supernatural, and, of course, the sweetness of two people seeing each other for the last time; there is no doubt that this is a great work by the Argentine director.

Este episodio debe lidiar con un horrendo crimen racial que posteriormente se convierte en un festín para Eso, pero tanto _Fuchs como Andy, tomaron una pausa entre tanto terror para generar una de las mejores escenas que he visto en este año, una acción de valentía, heroísmo, amor, una demostración que no hay miedo cuando se está haciendo lo correcto a sabiendas cual será el destino final; una escena más que hermosa y a la vez trágica y triste, pero que es perfecta para ser el punto de inflexión y generar lo necesario para hacer frente al enfrentamiento final; no hay duda que lo hecho en esa escena en específico protagonizada por dos jóvenes actores es de lo mejor que han hecho justamente ese grupo de relevantes protagonistas y que estoy convencido que en el episodio final puede ser superado por todo lo que deberán lidiar en su batalla contra Eso.

There is no doubt that what was done in that specific scene starring two young actors is the best that this group of relevant protagonists has done, and I am convinced that in the final episode it can be surpassed by everything they will have to deal with in their battle against It.

Voy a repetir el hecho de que este episodio el tema principal es el uso, la imposición del miedo y la actuación de la sociedad después de un lamentable hecho; después de lo que considero, como muchos otros, la gran y ahora aprovechando lo visto, puedo hasta decir de lo predecible que fue la relevación de los planes del ejército estadounidense con Eso; primeramente lo sentí tonto, como algo que pudo significar como una simple excusa para justificar actos, pero inmediatamente después de que se va desarrollando los motivos no dejaba de pensar en la realidad del diálogo que compartieron los personajes que cerraron tan buen episodio, cada frase es muy cierta y a la vez terrorífica y es por eso que considero este episodio como el mejor, uno que da mucha relevancia a la crítica hacia la sociedad que se acostumbra a ver hechos de maldad y no hace nada para evitarlo, que minimiza actos aborrecibles y promueven acciones lamentables, ese tipo de maldad hace apariencia en este episodio que por ahora es el mejor de la temporada y que me hace tener ahora muchas expectativas por el final a estrenarse en este domingo.

Every sentence is very true and at the same time terrifying, which is why I consider this episode to be the best, one that gives great relevance to the criticism of a society that is accustomed to seeing evil deeds and does nothing to prevent them, that minimizes abhorrent acts and promotes regrettable actions. That kind of evil appears in this episode, which is the best of the season so far and has me eagerly awaiting the finale, which premieres this Sunday.
