Por decisión de @wiseagent, creador del concurso "The Best of Horror" se extendió por una semana más y dar otra oportunidad a los que ya llevamos semanas compitiendo y a los que todavía viven una resaca de Halloween, en esta última semana del concurso nuestros post debe ser sobre las actuaciones más aterradoras o las que nos han impactado al ver películas de terror, no importa la década del film en que parezca esos personajes, para no perder más tiempo explicando las reglas del último reto, les dejo en el próximo link todo lo que deben hacer Show Me Your Best Scream.

By decision of @wiseagent, creator of "The Best of Horror " contest was extended for one more week and give another chance to those of us who have been competing for weeks already and to those who are still living a Halloween hangover, in this last week of the contest our post must be about the scariest performances or those that have impacted us when watching horror movies, no matter the decade of the film in which those characters appear, to not waste more time explaining the rules of the last challenge, I leave in the next link everything you must do Show Me Your Best Scream.
Sin ninguna que el reto de esta semana nos da muchas oportunidades para escribir sobre terroríficos personajes, primeramente pensé en escribir sobre Hannibal Lecter, Freddy Krueger o Patrick Bateman (American Psycho), pero pensé que si Wiseagent nombró a este último reto "Show Me Your Best Scream" quien más puede mostrar el mejor grito que las nombradas "Scream Queens", esas mujeres que deben lidiar contra depredadores despiadados que nos descansaran hasta saciar su sadismo en contra de ellas, pero lo que no saben es que desde el mismo miedo encontraran la fuerza para hacer frente a tan mortal enemigo buscando sobrevivir de cualquier manera para ser conocidas como "The Final Girl".
Without any that this week's challenge gives us many opportunities to write about terrifying characters, first I thought about writing about Hannibal Lecter, Freddy Krueger or Patrick Bateman (American Psycho), but I thought that if Wiseagent named this last challenge "Show Me Your Best Scream" who else can show the best scream than the named "Scream Queens", those women who must deal with ruthless predators who will not rest until they satiate their sadism against them, but what they don't know is that from the same fear they will find the strength to face such a deadly enemy looking to survive in any way to be known as "The Final Girl".
No quiero contar la historia sobre de donde proviene este famoso termino en el género del terror, solo quiero referirme a los personajes, a las mujeres que han quedado en la historia del cine por su excelente interpretación y que las han convertido en referencia para el mundo del cine y a muchas personas que seguramente han tomado a estas actuaciones como un motivo para superar traumas; para esta publicación me enfocó en fuertes personajes que han aprendido a luchar y ser fuertes en momentos inesperados en dónde sus vidas están en total peligro, todas ellas enfrentando a diferentes enemigos, fuertes en gran parte de la historia, convirtiéndolas en víctimas mientras hacen que sientan tanto miedo que cuando llega el momento final, ese enfrentamiento inevitable, en ellas surgirá fuerza para nivelar una pelea primeramente dispar para no morir al final de la historia.
Posiblemente pensaran que estos personajes no son terroríficos, que no hay nada de terror en ellas, que no son importantes y en lo personal pienso que para que un film tenga éxito es obligatorio que tanto el antagonista como la protagonista sean sumamente fuertes, en esta publicación tomo por ejemplo a cuatro films en dónde son referentes tanto el género slasher y el de ciencia-ficción, cuatro películas diferentes, pero con una base parecida, ya que está conformadas por cuatro villanos muy fuertes y por supuesto cuatro mujeres que mientras transcurre la historia deberán evolucionar para poder llegar al final, esto es algo muy importante y para este tipo de films, el asesino por supuesto es quien lleva el miedo, pero es la protagonista, la víctima la que debe expresar el miedo, pongo por ejemplo a estas cuatro personajes en cuatro películas porque sin ninguna duda a pesar de ser diferentes tienen un parecido en que primero son víctimas y después son fuertes mujeres, creo que el cambio o evolución tendrá motivos diferentes, por ejemplo Laurie Strode y Sarah Connor, puedo decir que ambas son mujeres que tienen muy poco chance de sobrevivir a sus victimarios, son fuertes, sin sentimiento, despiadados y con un solo objetivo, ellas en cambio son inteligentes, dulces y sencillas mujeres que como toda persona no tiene ninguna sensación de que algo malo sucederá, pero lo que no saben es que han sido marcadas y quien esté cerca de ellas morirá por el hecho de que posiblemente puedan ser un apoyo, es por eso que de su soledad y posiblemente por el hecho de ser mujer, sus víctimas las hará primero sentir terror no solo por querer quitarles su vida sino por el daño que harán a otros y creo yo que eso es el primer motivo para que estás dos mujeres tengan fuerza para enfrentar un mal mayor, ellos de un instinto maternal, de proteger a ellas y a otros más, hace que tenga fuerza y luchen contra alguien que parece indestructible, disminuyen el terror que sienten y aumentan su valor, fuerza, las ganas de salir con vida de una desfavorable situación.
I don't want to tell the story about where this famous term in the horror genre comes from, I just want to refer to the characters, to the women who have remained in the history of cinema for their excellent performance and who have become a reference for the world of cinema and many people who have surely taken these performances as a reason to overcome traumas; for this publication I focused on strong characters who have learned to fight and be strong in unexpected moments where their lives are in total danger, all of them facing different enemies, strong in much of the story, turning them into victims while making them feel so afraid that when the final moment comes, that inevitable confrontation, in them will emerge strength to level a fight first disparate to not die at the end of the story.
Possibly they will think that these characters are not terrifying, that there is nothing of terror in them, that they are not important and personally I think that for a film to be successful it is mandatory that both the antagonist and the protagonist are extremely strong, in this publication I take for example four films where they are referents both the slasher genre and science fiction, four different films, but with a similar base, since they are conformed by four very strong villains and of course four women that while the story goes by they must evolve to be able to reach the end, this is something very important and for this type of films, the killer of course is the one who carries the fear, but it is the protagonist, the victim who must express the fear, I put for example these four characters in four films because without any doubt despite being different they have a similarity in that first they are victims and then they are strong women, I believe that the change or evolution will have different motives, for example Laurie Strode and Sarah Connor, I can say that both are women who have very little chance of surviving their victimizers, they are strong, without feeling, ruthless and with only one goal, they instead are intelligent, sweet and simple women who like all people have no feeling that something bad will happen, but what they do not know is that they have been marked and whoever is close to them will die for the fact that they can possibly be a support, that is why of their loneliness and possibly because of the fact of being a woman, their victims will first make them feel terror not only for wanting to take their lives but for the harm they will do to others and I believe that this is the first reason for these two women to have the strength to face a greater evil, they have a maternal instinct, to protect them and others, it makes them have strength and fight against someone who seems indestructible, they diminish the terror they feel and increase their courage, strength, the desire to get out alive from an unfavorable situation.
Cosa contraria sucede con los personajes de Ellen Ripley y Sidney Prescott, la primera creo que es la más fuerte de todas, siempre es decidía y directa, no la considero que muestra miedo aunque por todo lo que sucede en ALIEN (1979) es difícil que su personaje no lo sienta, su motivo para sobrevivir es justamente ese, vivir, no hay nada que la ayude, no hay más nadie a quien salvar, su único objetivo es sobrevivir y usa su ingenio, inteligencia y determinación para poder lograr su cometido, de igual forma le pasa a la protagonista de SCREAM (1997), quien debe evolucionar mientras debe ser víctima de un psicópata con un cruel plan, si hay un personaje que se toma el tiempo para pasar del miedo a la determinación de terminar un enemigo esa es Sidney, su motivo principal tal cual como las otras tres antes nombrada es la simple idea de no morir, no en manos de los motivos enfermos de un asesino que al final es completamente patético, esto creo que es lo que más me gusta de esta Final Girl, ella se da cuenta de que no hay que temer por alguien que es menor en actitud y valor que es ella y eso le da fuerzas y determinación para acabar con quién la aterroriza, sin ninguna duda es parecido su evolución a lo que es Ripley en los momentos finales de Alien, creo que es por eso que Sidney es mi favorita.
The opposite happens with the characters of Ellen Ripley and Sidney Prescott, the first one I think is the strongest of all, she is always decisive and direct, I do not consider her to show fear although for everything that happens in ALIEN (1979) it is difficult that her character does not feel it, her motive to survive is just that, to live, there is nothing to help her, there is no one else to save, her only goal is to survive and she uses her wit, intelligence and determination to achieve her goal, the same happens to the protagonist of SCREAM (1997), who must evolve while she must be the victim of a psychopath with a cruel plan, if there is a character that takes the time to go from fear to the determination to finish an enemy that is Sidney, her main motive just like the other three named before is the simple idea of not dying, not at the hands of the sick motives of a killer who in the end is completely pathetic, this I think is what I like the most about this Final Girl, she realizes that there is no need to fear for someone who is lesser in attitude and courage than she is and that gives her strength and determination to finish with who terrorizes her, without any doubt it is similar to her evolution to what Ripley is in the final moments of Alien, I think that's why Sidney is my favorite.
Sé que este tema era más para hablar de quién hace gritar a las víctimas antes de morir, pero yo quería hacer un homenaje a las últimas sobrevivientes, para mí es algo único y más cuando por cualquiera razón deben volver a enfrentar a un mismo enemigo, yo las tomo (sus Interpretaciones) como un mensaje de superación al terror que viven y verlas en otras películas, en las secuelas, es algo que también me gusta porque podemos seguir viendo esa evolución del personaje al hacerse más fuerte, por supuesto que esto significa que su rival será aún más fuerte, es una regla siempre a seguir en los films de terror y es por eso que son muy divertidas; lo otro sobre las Final Girls es que han influenciado a la creación de excelentes personajes como son las protagonistas de "Dawn of the Dead" de Zack Snyder, "You'r Next" y "Ready or Not" las mujeres que lideran estás historias por nombrar algunas de estos últimos 20 años o menos, las considero las mejores, sé que hay otras más, pero la fuerza demostrada por las actrices al interpretar a estos personajes es algo único. Por ser la última semana quiero invitar a @saydij y @filmspace para que se animen y sin importar que ya terminó Halloween, hablen un poco del personaje o personajes que los hace gritar de miedo.
I know this theme was more to talk about who makes the victims scream before dying, but I wanted to make a tribute to the last survivors, for me it is something unique and more when for any reason they have to face the same enemy again, I take them (their performances) as a message of overcoming the terror they live and see them in other movies, in the sequels, is something that I also like because we can continue to see that evolution of the character by becoming stronger, of course this means that their rival will be even stronger, it's a rule always to follow in horror films and that's why they are so much fun; the other thing about the Final Girls is that they have influenced the creation of excellent characters such as the main characters of "Dawn of the Dead" by Zack Snyder, "You'r Next" and "Ready or Not" the women who lead these stories to name a few of these last 20 years or less, I consider them the best, I know there are others, but the strength shown by the actresses when playing these characters is something unique. Las reinas del grito son un pilar fundamental en la construcción de una buena historia del genero, especialmente los slasher. Aunque cada vez se distancian de las primeras reinas del grito, que eran sobrevivientes y débiles, a ser ahora mas aguerridas y fuertes.
Exactamente, ahora ya no son para nada débiles y son fuertes desde el comienzo, esa creo que es lo mejor que han hecho, disfruto más ahora las películas de esa forma.

Muy buen post, excelente tu escogencia de algunas de las más interesantes reinas del grito. Hay una pelicula que muy posiblemente hayas visto del año 2015, se llama precisamente The Final Girls, presenta mucho humor y horror, funcionando como parodía a las películas de psicopatas asesinos, tambien es cine dentro del cine. Muchisima suerte en tu participaciòn.
The Final Girls es muy buena película, existe el rumor de que la secuela se tratará del padre de la protagonistas, ya ha pasado mucho tiempo y cada vez pienso que no la harán, ojalá algún día ase animen.
