Thunderbolts* - Movie Review [ES - EN]
No es secreto que cualquier personaje de comics tiene el potencial para redimir su historia de villano o que un héroe puede convertirse en un peligroso enemigo de la humanidad, estas son características que dependiendo cuál se tome en cuenta puede generar un arco relevante en una completa historia o como es en este caso, se usa como excusa para formar un grupo con personajes considerados como poco relevantes, ofrecer una carga de acción, humor y por supuesto una dramática que será el motivo principal para fortalecer la unión del grupo y así enfrentar un mal mayor; todas estas características son lo que define "Thunderbolts*", el último film de la que considero la peor fase del MCU.
It is no secret that any comic book character has the potential to redeem their villainous history or that a hero can become a dangerous enemy of humanity. these are characteristics that, depending on which one is taken into account, can generate a relevant arc in a complete story or, as in this case, be used as an excuse to form a group with characters considered to be of little relevance, offering a load of action, humour and, of course, drama, which will be the main reason for strengthening the group's unity and thus facing a greater evil; All these characteristics are what define "Thunderbolts*", the latest film from what I consider to be the worst phase of the MCU.
Film dirigido por Jake Schreier y escrito por Eric Pearson y Joanna Calo, cumple con todo cliché que puede ofrecer este tipo de films en donde un grupo de desadaptados o desechados deben formar un grupo para salvar al mundo; ahora lo de cumplir con toda regla no es sinónimo de éxito porque esta película ofrece muy poca emoción al generar principalmente escenas de acción; ninguna de estas escenas son relevantes o que pueden ofrecer algo impactante, todas son repetitivas, ya que los personajes involucrados han hecho las mismas escenas en otras producciones lo cual es predecible y aburrido; las escenas de combate son lentas, simples, rápidas no son divertidas y lo peor es que no ofrece protagonismo a sus muchos personajes.
El guion es un desastre en muchos ámbitos, principalmente en el momento de conformar el grupo porque es poco creíble, no hay una verdadera base para los personajes elegidos se encuentren y así comenzar un grupo, pero lo peor es el poco desarrollo motivacional para su unión, así como las decisiones que los hacen llevar al enfrentamiento final, esto quiere decir que lo referente a conformar y posteriormente fortalecer el grupo no existe como tal porque no hay un verdadero desarrollo sobre eso y solamente respeta la individualidad de su personaje más importante, la cual si está mejor desarrollado en sus sentimientos y motivos de redención.
Directed by Jake Schreier and written by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, this film ticks all the boxes for this type of film, in which a group of misfits or outcasts must form a team to save the world. However, following all the rules is not synonymous with success, because this film offers very little excitement, mainly generating action scenes. None of these scenes are relevant or offer anything striking; they are all repetitive, as the characters involved have done the same scenes in other productions, which is predictable and boring. The combat scenes are slow, simple, fast, and not fun, and worst of all, they do not give prominence to its many characters.
The script is a disaster in many areas, mainly when it comes to forming the group because it is not very credible. There is no real basis for the chosen characters to meet and thus start a group, but the worst thing is the lack of motivational development for their union, as well as the decisions that lead them to the final confrontation. This means that the process of forming and subsequently strengthening the group does not exist as such because there is no real development in this regard, and it only respects the individuality of its most important character, who is better developed in terms of their feelings and motives for redemption.
Como dije anteriormente, el desarrollo de muchos personajes no es para nada el mejor, en ellos se deja en entendido la necesidad de obtener redención y cambiar su estatus de villanos, es sumamente simple y pobre uso de la narrativa para un film en donde tiene varios protagonistas y aunque me pareció bien el desarrollo del personaje de "Yelena Belova" interpretado por Florence Pugh, quien tiene un mejor protagonismo del que tuvo en el film "Black Widow" y en la serie "Hawkeye"; la profundidad del personaje con respecto a la manera de lidiar con un mundo en donde perdió mucho y sin obtener ninguna victoria la hace tener el mejor motivo para cambiar su vida y lamento que los otros personajes no tuvieran ese tiempo en pantalla para expresar su necesidad de cambio; la actuación de Florence es de los puntos positivos del film.
As I said earlier, the development of many characters is not the best. It is implied that they need redemption and to change their status as villains, which is an extremely simple and poor use of narrative for a film with several protagonists. Although I liked the development of the character "Yelena Belova" played by Florence Pugh**_, who has a better role than she did in the film "Black Widow" and the series "Hawkeye"; the depth of the character in terms of how she deals with a world where she has lost so much and achieved no victories gives her the best reason to change her life, and I regret that the other characters did not have that screen time to express their need for change; Florence's performance is one of the film's strong points.
La quinta fase del MCU en su etapa cinematográfica fue un desastre; la única producción destacable fue "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" por ser algo independiente y estar alejado de todo lo referente al Multiverso, pero todo lo demás fue un completo fracaso narrativo, sin relevancia alguna en donde se sigue teniendo la suerte de generar cantidades de dinero que cubren el presupuesto de cada producción, pero que al final está muy alejado de lo que recaudaron producciones de las primeras fases y es lamentable que sabiendo que se está perdiendo público, decidan seguir realizando y estrenando producciones que no están a la altura de la franquicia, ni mucho menos a la altura del material de origen, los comics. No sé cómo se manejará la próxima fase a comenzar con el estreno de "Fantastic 4", pero lo único que sé es que las películas del MCU no me motivan a verlas en una sala de cine.
The fifth phase of the MCU in its cinematic stage was a disaster; the only noteworthy production was "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" because it was somewhat independent and removed from everything related to the Multiverse, but everything else was a complete narrative failure, with no relevance whatsoever, where they are still lucky enough to generate amounts of money that cover the budget of each production, but in the end, it is far from what the productions of the first phases grossed, and it is unfortunate that, knowing that they are losing audiences, they decide to continue making and releasing productions that are not up to the standard of the franchise, let alone the source material, the comics. I don't know how the next phase will be handled, starting with the release of Fantastic Four, but the only thing I know is that the MCU films don't motivate me to see them in a cinema.
