The film did feel a bit thin when I watched it. Though from a technical aspect it was beautifully made. I worked with a guy that worked on some parts of the film and hearing the stories on the set design and how they shot certain scenes was really interesting. I think Alex Garland is a really creative director, one that really knows what he wants, though it always doesn't quite hit the mark.

I've only seen Ex Machina and this.. to my knowledge, at least. I'll have to look at what other films they have been involved in.

Civil War was a great love letter to photojournalism. A very creative film. But I think it didn't help that it released at such a difficult time and people hopped on the concept to match their ideologies.
