It's coming up close to 100 years! It's impressive how much these films stand up to the test of time though. Some are so well made. Currently watching The Invisible Man from 1933. Great fun.

It's practically the beginning of cinema. It's like the first rare NFTs for collectors. Or simply the beginning of something new, the first of its kind.

It really is! The decade before saw the silent era, and this is pretty much just as sound started to become a thing. It's no surprise the Universal monster era that came through the 1930s had the impact it did. It wasn't just new types of stories being told in cinema, but the introduction to an entirely new way of connecting with the audience by giving the characters actual voices to be heard.
