El primer anime de la televisión: Astro Boy / The first television anime: Astro Boy.
En los actuales momentos se habla mucho de la Inteligencia Artificial, de Sistemas que actúan como humanos o de computadoras que realizan tareas de forma similar a como lo hacen las personas. Estos intentan emular el pensamiento lógico racional de los humanos.
Siempre he pensado en esta posibilidad, y en la de que si estas tecnologias caen en manos erradas, seria el fin de nosotros como humanidad. Claro he estado influenciado por películas como 2001 Odisea del Espacio de 1968, Westworld de 1973, Terminator 1 y 2 de 1984 y 1991 respectivamente, Matrix de 1998 de el anime Ghost in the Shell de 1995, y mas recientemente A. I. Inteligencia Artificial del 2001, y Ex-Machine del 2015.
Me he preguntado si un algoritmo puede ser tomado como un pensamiento humano que puede adaptarse a una maquina y que a través de este implante la maquina pueda desarrollar conciencia y sentimientos, y que se pueda crear algo que es un concepto muy humano; el alma.
De repente mi mente se retrotrae hacia mi infancia y viene a mi memoria la primera Inteligencia Artificial que conocí y ello a través de un entretenido anime que pensándolo bien se mostraba como en un espejo nuestros miedos, fantasías, deseos y preocupaciones, ese anime es Astro Boy.
Astro Boy es una figura del manga y del anime japonés, creado por Osamu Tezuka que inicialmente fue publicado en una revista japonesa en 1951 hasta el 1968 y es uno de los personajes que ha contribuido a difundir el fenómeno de los mangas.
El autor Osamu Tezuka, es conocido como el padre del manga y anime, y fue de los primeros artistas en este medio en adquirir fama internacional. Influencio en la gráfica, la estilización de personajes y en las en temáticas utilizadas tanto en manga como en anime.
El verdadero nombre de Astro Boy es Tetsuwan Atom, (Atom del puño de hierro) ; es un personaje inspirado en Mickey Mouse y Bambi en lo referente a sus grandes ojos. Otras influencias notables en este anime son las historias de "Frankenstein" (Mary Shelley, 1818), "Pinocho"(Carlo Collodi, 1882) y "Yo Robot" (Isaac Asimov, 1950), que Tezuka fusionó para reconstruir el mito de que la ciencia y la tecnología serían capaces de crear vida humana.
Es un robot creado por el doctor Tenma, el cual copia las características físicas y cerebrales de su hijo Tobio, muerto a causa en un accidente de transito.

Astro Boy tiene por tanto las características de un muchacho e hipotéticamente sentimientos humanos que lo hacen aparecer como un ser con capacidad de conciencia.
El científico se da cuenta que el robot, no está en condiciones de crecer y madurar, lleno de ira y de desconsuelo decide venderlo. En principio acaba en un circo como fenómeno, pero después lo rescata el doctor Ochanomizu, el sucesor de Tenma en el Ministerio de Ciencias.
Este científico le construirá una familia de robots y le permite ir a la escuela como si fuese un niño humano. Astro Boy con sus superpoderes colabora con el científico Ochanomizu en su lucha contra los atropellos y las guerras.
Sin embargo este robot es rechazado por los hombres y en particular por sus compañeros de escuela, que lo consideran solo una máquina.

El doctor Ochanomizu, lucha contra criminales inescrupulosos que buscan apoderarse de la tecnología que ha permitido la construcción de Astro Boy y así el pequeño robot se implica en una serie de emocionantes aventuras de las cuáles siempre sale vencedor.

La serie realizada del 1963 al 1966 por el mismo Osamu Tezuka, está conformada por 193 episodios en blanco y negro, y es la madre de todos los dibujos animados japoneses , que de él han heredado los característicos ojos grandes y las líneas redondeadas. Astro Boy fue la primera historieta ilustrada manga a ser adaptada en dibujo animado ( anime ) en Japon.
El personaje muy simpático y es fácil empatizar con el, se convirtió en un icono que lucha por la paz, contra cada forma de discriminación e injusticia.
Astro Boy comienza a luchar contra el crimen, el mal y la injusticia utilizando sus diversos poderes: súper velocidad ya que sus piernas presentan una potencia de 800 caballos de fuerza, luces de alta intensidad en los ojos para obtener una mejor visibilidad en lugares donde no hay luz, audición ajustable, traducción de idiomas al instante, ametralladora retráctil en sus caderas y un alto coeficiente intelectual que le permite identificar a una persona buena o mala.

La mayoría de sus enemigos resultan ser humanos que odian los robots, robots locos o invasores alienígenas.
La obra contó con otras tres adaptaciones en formato anime; una serie en 1980, otra en el año 2003, y la última en 2019. Fuera de Japón, tuvo en 2009 una adaptación cinematográfica animada.

Creo que en este caso la Inteligencia Artificial ha sido amable con la humanidad, ya que los pensamientos o algoritmos inculcados a este robot pertenecen a un niño, y este no busca superar la inteligencia humana, lo que busca es parecerse mas a un humano y ser aceptado por estos.
Si mas no me equivoco yo disfrute la serie original por el canal Radio Caracas Television, la pasaban en un bloque en el cual luego transmitían otro anime de un grupo de niños quienes vestidos como superheroes, se convierten en justicieros contra el mal, con capas voladoras e identidad secreta, les hablo de El Hombre Par, (del cual desarrollare una posterior publicación).
En lo particular me gusta mucho la versión de Astro Boy de los años 60 sobre las demás por ser este uno de los primeros animes que logre conocer en mi infancia en los años 70, y además uno de los primeros superheroes del cual tengo conciencia.
Ahora bien imagínense que su creador hubiese manipulado ese cuerpo robotico con pensamientos psicóticos y este robot adquiriese destrezas para dañar a los seres humanos desarrollando un comportamiento cruel y que van en contra de la primera ley de la robótica: ❝ Un robot no hará daño a un ser humano, ni por inacción permitirá que un ser humano sufra daño❞. Yo creo que dependiendo de las intenciones del humano que haga la programación esta ley puede violarse.
Espero que esta publicación sea del agrado de todos en la comunidad y los motive a buscar mas material de Astro Boy al cual se considera el primer anime en television.

At present, there is a lot of talk about Artificial Intelligence, Systems that act like humans or computers that perform tasks in a similar way as people do. These try to emulate the rational logical thinking of humans.
I have always thought about this possibility, and that if these technologies fall into the wrong hands, it would be the end of us as humanity. Of course I have been influenced by movies like 2001 Space Odyssey from 1968, Westworld from 1973, Terminator 1 and 2 from 1984 and 1991 respectively, Matrix from 1998, the anime Ghost in the Shell from 1995, and most recently A. I. Artificial Intelligence from 2001, and Ex-Machine from 2015.
I have wondered if an algorithm can be taken as a human thought that can be adapted to a machine and through this implant the machine can develop consciousness and feelings, and something that is a very human concept can be created; the soul.
Suddenly my mind goes back to my childhood and comes to my memory the first Artificial Intelligence that I met and this through an entertaining anime that thinking about it well was shown as in a mirror our fears, fantasies, desires and concerns, that anime is Astro Boy.
Astro Boy is a Japanese manga and anime figure, created by Osamu Tezuka that was initially published in a Japanese magazine in 1951 until 1968 and is one of the characters that contributed to the spread of the manga phenomenon.
The author Osamu Tezuka, is known as the father of manga and anime, and was one of the first artists in this medium to acquire international fame. He influenced the graphics, the stylization of characters and the themes used in both manga and anime.
Astro Boy's real name is Tetsuwan Atom, (Atom of the iron fist); he is a character inspired by Mickey Mouse and Bambi regarding his big eyes. Other notable influences in this anime are the stories of "Frankenstein" (Mary Shelley, 1818), "Pinocchio" (Carlo Collodi, 1882) and "I Robot" (Isaac Asimov, 1950), which Tezuka merged to reconstruct the myth that science and technology would be able to create human life.
It is a robot created by Dr. Tenma, which copies the physical and cerebral characteristics of his son Tobio, who died in a traffic accident.

Astro Boy therefore has the characteristics of a boy and hypothetically human feelings that make him appear as a being with the capacity of consciousness.
The scientist realizes that the robot is in no condition to grow and mature, and out of anger and grief he decides to sell it. At first he ends up in a circus as a freak, but then he is rescued by Dr. Ochanomizu, Tenma's successor at the Ministry of Science.
This scientist builds him a family of robots and allows him to go to school as if he were a human child. Astro Boy with his superpowers collaborates with the scientist Ochanomizu in his fight against outrages and wars.
However, this robot is rejected by men and in particular by his schoolmates, who consider him just a machine.

Dr. Ochanomizu fights against unscrupulous criminals who seek to take possession of the technology that has allowed the construction of Astro Boy, and so the little robot is involved in a series of exciting adventures from which he always emerges victorious.

The series made from 1963 to 1966 by Osamu Tezuka himself, consists of 193 episodes in black and white, and is the mother of all Japanese cartoons, which have inherited from him the characteristic big eyes and rounded lines. Astro Boy was the first illustrated manga cartoon to be adapted into an animated cartoon (anime) in Japan.

Astro Boy begins to fight against crime, evil and injustice using his various powers: super speed as his legs have a power of 800 horsepower, high intensity lights in his eyes for better visibility in places where there is no light, adjustable hearing, instant language translation, retractable machine gun on his hips and a high IQ that allows him to identify a good or bad person.

I think that in this case Artificial Intelligence has been kind to humanity, since the thoughts or algorithms instilled in this robot belong to a child, and it does not seek to overcome human intelligence, what it seeks is to look more like a human and be accepted by them.
If I'm not mistaken I enjoyed the original series on Radio Caracas Television channel, it was broadcasted in a block in which they aired another anime about a group of children who dressed as superheroes, become vigilantes against evil, with flying capes and secret identity, I'm talking about Perman (which I will develop in a later publication).
I particularly like the version of Astro Boy from the 60's above the others because it was one of the first anime that I got to know in my childhood in the 70's, and also one of the first superheroes of which I am aware.
Now imagine that its creator had manipulated that robotic body with psychotic thoughts and this robot acquired skills to harm human beings developing a cruel behavior that goes against the first law of robotics: "A robot will not harm a human being, nor by inaction allow a human being to suffer harm". I believe that depending on the intentions of the human doing the programming this law can be violated.
I hope this publication is to the liking of everyone in the community and motivates you to look for more material of Astro Boy which is considered the first anime on television.

I remember seeing one of the films for this and loving it as a child, but I always forget the name of it and couldn't find it. It'd air on tv at random times.
That's normal, there were many repetitions of chapters and many times they changed the broadcasting schedule, I think these TV channels used these anime and children's programs as filler, however many of them were important for children and even for adults. Those adventures remain in our memory and the characters have become famous.
