Cine TV Contest #31 - Favorite Movie with a Young Lead is Drew Barrymore: from girl to woman in the film industry/de niña a mujer en la industria del cine [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends, welcome to my blog, I am pleased to participate in this community contest again and this time it is to talk about those actors who started in the film industry at a very young age, we have many stories of child actors that after reaping great fame disappear from the artistic world, many of them end up with sad life stories and few have a life story of overcoming. Today I chose a girl who impressed me with her performance when I saw her in the movie ET, being a girl myself, I wanted to be her and live that adventure. I'm talking about Drew Barrymore, at just 6 years old, he catapulted to fame with this Steven Spielberg movie, in 1982.

Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, me es grato volver a participar en este concurso de la comunidad y esta vez es hablar sobre esos actores que comenzaron en la industria del cine a muy temprana edad, tenemos muchas historias de niños actores que luego de cosechar una gran fama desaparecen del medio artístico, muchos de ellos terminan con historias de vida tristes y pocos son los que tienen una historia de vida de superación. Hoy escogí a una niña que me impresionó por su actuación cuando la vi en la película ET, siendo también yo una niña, quise ser ella y vivir esa aventura. Les hablo de Drew Barrymore, con tan solo 6 años, se catapultó a la fama con esta película de Steven Spielberg, en 1982.

The first time I saw ET, I was a girl like Drew, seeing her in that role was like seeing a friend, sister, I wanted to be like her and meet an alien like ET, I left the cinema with a smile painted on my lips and with my imagination through the clouds. For me this film is one of those that have a special meaning in my life, because it was one of the first that I saw that was not from cartoons. I went with my older sister and my dad, I remember that he was worried that we would not like the movie or that it would scare us, but it was the opposite, even today I still watch it when they repeat it on TV.

La primera vez que vi ET, era una niña como Drew, verla en ese papel era como ver a una amiga, hermana, quería ser como ella y conocer a un extraterrestre como ET, salí del cine con una sonrisa pintada en mis labios y con mi imaginación por las nubes. Para mí esta cinta es una de las que tienen un significado especial en mi vida, porque fue una de las primeras que vi que no era de dibujos animados. Fui con mi hermana mayor y mi papá, recuerdo que él estaba preocupado de que no, nos gustara la película o que nos diera miedo, pero fue todo lo contrario, aun hoy sigo viéndola cuando la repiten en la TV.

Drew kind of grew up with me over the years, we're contemporaries and I've seen pretty much all of her movies throughout her career. I read her professional and personal ups and downs, which brought her to be a working girl in the cinema, as an adult. I admire her because she has overcome addictions, bad roles, mediocre movies, countless situations that she had to face when she was very young. She showed me with her example that no matter having bad times and situations, it is always possible to get ahead if you fight for what you believe in and work to achieve it. The path that we must follow is often not easy, but we must not give up no matter how many obstacles lie ahead. It will always be our will, perseverance and preparation that leads us to succeed, Drew Barrymore is an example of this.

Drew, en cierta forma creció conmigo a lo largo de los años, somos contemporáneas y he visto casi todas sus películas a lo largo de su carrera. Sus altibajos profesionales y personales, que le trajeron a ser una niña trabajadora del cine, los leí ya de adulta. La admiro porque ha superado adicciones, malos papeles, películas mediocres, un sinfín de situaciones que debió enfrentar siendo muy joven. Ella me demostró con su ejemplo que no importa tener malos momentos y situaciones, siempre es posible salir adelante si luchas por lo que crees y trabajas para conseguirlo. El camino que debemos seguir muchas veces no es fácil, pero no debemos rendirnos por más obstáculos que tengamos adelante. Siempre será nuestra voluntad, perseverancia y preparación lo que nos lleve a triunfar, Drew Barrymore, es un ejemplo de ello.

Today, at 47 years old, she is a woman who has reinvented herself in every way, she is not just an actress, she is also a producer, director, TV presenter, mother and businesswoman. She with blockbusters such as: Charlie's Angels, Family Honeymoon,50First Dates, among others. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the movie ET, where a girl with her innocence and tenderness stole the hearts of the audience and made us dream of tender aliens. Seeing Drew's evolution and growth is seeing ourselves reflected a little in some things in her life, such as getting ahead despite setbacks, not being afraid to start again and I think that's why she is special to me.

Hoy, ya a sus 47 años, es una mujer se ha reinventado en todos los sentidos, no es solo una actriz, es también productora, directora, presentadora de TV, madre y empresaria. Con éxitos de taquilla como: Los Ángeles de Charlie, Luna de Miel en Familia, Cómo si Fuera la Primera Vez, entre otros. Cumpliéndose este año 40 años de la película ET, en donde una niña con su inocencia, ternura, se robó el corazón de la audiencia y nos hizo soñar en tiernos extraterrestres. Ver la evolución y el crecimiento de Drew, es vernos reflejados un poco en algunas cosas de su vida, como el salir adelante a pesar de los tropiezos, en no tener miedo de empezar otra vez y creo que por ello para mí ella es especial.

In retrospect, growing up in the public eye is not easy, because growing up is difficult in itself, when we are young we make mistakes, we believe we are owners of the world, of the truth, we are daring and sometimes we do not measure the dangers of our actions. She is an example of what we should not do, but also of how, despite this, to overcome that darkness and get ahead. I read her biography a few years ago and this made her not only admire her talents as an actress, but also as a human being who stands up despite adversity to get ahead. En retrospectiva, crecer ante la luz pública no es fácil, porque crecer de por sí es difícil, cuando somos jóvenes cometemos errores, nos creemos dueños del mundo, de la verdad, somos osados y algunas veces no medimos los peligros de nuestras acciones. Ella es un ejemplo de lo que no debemos hacer, pero también de como a pesar de ello, superar esa oscuridad y salir adelante. Leí su biografía hace unos años y esto hizo que no solo admirara por sus dotes como actriz, sino como ser humano que se levanta a pesar de las adversidades para salir adelante. Creo en segundas oportunidades y Drew, es la personificación de que podemos ser lo que deseamos.
