Navillera – Old Age is not an Impediment to Dreaming | Series Review [En-Es]
This is one of the most beautiful K-dramas that can exist, for some it may be slow, but the message it contains is one of the strongest that can be seen. I looked forward to this series with much longing, and I wanted to indeed enjoy it when it will be released. The protagonist of it could be nuanced by one of my favorite actors, i.e. Song Kang, but it is not so, by the way to see the real protagonist is that person behind him: In-hwan Park, with his character as: Shim Deok-chul.
Este es uno de los K-dramas más hermosos que pueden existir, para algunos puede ser lento, pero el mensaje que contiene es uno de los más sólidos que pueden verse. Esta serie la esperé con mucho anhelo, y quería en efecto disfrutar de ella cuando se estrenará. El protagonista de ella podría verse matizado por uno de mis actores favoritos, es decir, Song Kang, pero no es así, a modo de ver el verdadero protagonista es esa persona que está detrás de él: In-hwan Park, con su personaje como: Shim Deok-chul.
Of course, I can't lie to you that I was amazed with the way Song Kang, played the role of Lee Chae-rok. One of the most difficult issues in a role is for someone to be able to recreate artistic gifts and skills. This is something that is marked in a very profound way in the series and this is what actor Song Kang does, ballet? Yes, he does this, and every single part he performed was done trying to avoid doubles, of course, this was something that could not be done in every scene.
Claro, no les puedo mentir que quedé sorprendido con la forma en que Song Kang, interpretó el papel de Lee Chae-rok. Una de las cuestiones más difíciles en un papel es que alguien pueda recrear dones y habilidades artísticas. Esto es algo que se marca de una manera muy profunda en la serie y es lo que hace el actor Song Kang, ¿ballet? Sí, él hace esto, y cada una de las piezas que efectuó las realizó tratando de evitar a los dobles, claro, esto era algo que no se podía realizar en todas las escenas.
Usually we see actors with dubbing for dancing, but in this case Song Kang had hidden skills and the practices they performed generated an optical nuance in the scenes that could be expressed as pure art.
Por lo general vemos a los actores con doblajes para el baile, pero en este caso Song Kang tenía habilidades escondidas y las prácticas que efectuaban generaban una matización óptica en las escenas que se podían expresar como arte puro.
I think I have rushed a little bit about the theme of the series, but the issue, which makes this k-drama very spectacular, is the wish or desire of Mr. Shim Deok-chul. When I started watching it, I didn't understand, why this noble old man was with his friend talking in that place, but after slowly going forward I understood: dreams.
Creo que me he apresurado un poco sobre el tema de la serie, pero la cuestión, que hace este k-drama muy espectacular, es el deseo o anhelo del señor Shim Deok-chul. Cuando comencé a verla no entendía, porque este noble anciano estaba con su amigo conversando en ese lugar, pero luego de ir poco a poco avanzando lo entendí: sueños.
In that initial conversation they talked about what they had not been able to achieve, but that friend decided his end or rather life marked his destiny. Our noble old man received news that could turn his family upside down and it is about that deadly disease that will gradually take away his breath, his memories and his notion of time: Alzheimer's disease.
En esa conversación inicial ellos hablaron de lo que no habían podido lograr, pero ese amigo decidió su final o mejor dicho la vida marcó su destino. Nuestro noble y viejo anciano protagonista recibió una noticia que puede poner a su familia de cabeza y es sobre esa mortal enfermedad que poco a poco le arrebatará el aliento, sus recuerdos y noción del tiempo: alzheimer.
What does it mean to be a good father? What does it mean to be a good husband? As far as I can see, he did everything he should have done or everything he had to do for the people he loved, but the door to what he wanted to achieve was closed. How do you open your dreams once again at that age? Is it impossible? If you come from a humble, noble, simple or basic family.
¿Qué significa ser un buen padre? ¿Qué significa ser un buen marido? Por lo que veo, él efectuó todo lo que debía o todo lo que tenía que hacer por las personas que amaba, pero la puerta de lo que quería alcanzar se cerró. ¿Cómo abres una vez más tus sueños a esa edad? ¿Es imposible? Si vienes de una familia humilde, noble, sencilla o básica.
I say it from experience, when there are restrictions you limit yourself and as you grow up you find yourself with what you wanted, but in Mr. Shim Deok-chul's case it was not like that. Working, taking care of the children and being an exemplary husband. To get out of that erratic and marked spot left by his parents, however, ones that he loved as well. Generally, people have an encounter with our desires, and that happens when the world clears and we see what we want for our future, this the series demarcates very clearly.
Lo digo por experiencia, cuando existen restricciones te limitas y a medida que vais creciendo te reencuentras con eso que deseabas, pero en el caso del señor Shim Deok-chul no fue así. Trabajar, cuidar a los niños y ser un esposo ejemplar. Salir de ese punto errático y marcado que dejaron sus padres, no obstante, unos que él amaba también. Por lo general, las personas tenemos un encuentro con nuestros deseos, y eso ocurre cuando el mundo se despeja y vemos lo que queremos para nuestro futuro, esto lo demarca la serie muy claramente.
I think you should not give up what you want, but this is what Shim Deok-chul is going to do little by little. How so? In short, he knew that he had only a short time left to lose his memory, but you know what is more remarkable is that every time he remembered that dream of dancing ballet, everything simply came back, it is as if it was light, dreams are true light for human beings.
A modo de ver, uno no debe abandonar lo que desea, no obstante, esto es lo que va a efectuar Shim Deok-chul poco a poco. ¿Cómo así? The power of what we want and long for makes us strong, despite how complex everything can be. That's how Shim Deok-chul sees Lee Chae-rok dance, dance in a way that you feel in your soul. A desire, power, and true essence, I think that's what that powerful scene in the series reflects.
El poder de lo que queremos y anhelamos nos hace fuertes, a pesar de lo complejo que puede ser todo. Es así como Shim Deok-chul ve como Lee Chae-rok baila, baila de una manera que se siente en el alma. Un deseo, poder, y esencia verdadera, creo que eso es lo que refleja esa escena tan poderosa en la serie.
I won't deny that there are unique moments in it, and a very painful part, but still, human beings are the expression of our will. Lee Chae-rok, may be seen as a tough guy, and superficial, however, he is not like that, he is someone who feels the consequences of his father, the failure and the offensive words around him, in spite of this, he continues.
No les negaré que existe dentro de ella momentos únicos, y una parte muy dolorosa, aun así, los seres humanos somos la expresión de nuestra voluntad. Lee Chae-rok, puede ser visto como un chico duro, y superficial, no obstante, no es así, es alguien que siente las consecuencias de su padre, el fracaso y las palabras ofensivas a su alrededor, a pesar de esto, él continúa.
The best? What does it mean to be the best? I think Mr. Shim Deok-chul leaves a very deep message to Lee Chae-rok, it is very noble to see an old man, protect a disoriented boy and from whom he wants to learn how to dance ballet. Of course, at first Cha-rok doesn't know anything about the illness surrounding Shim Deok, but when he finds out everything slowly begins to change in a more meaningful way in the plot.
¿El mejor? ¿Qué significa ser el mejor? Pienso que el señor Shim Deok-chul deja un mensaje muy profundo a Lee Chae-rok, es muy noble ver a un anciano, proteger a un chico desorientado y del que quiere aprender a bailar ballet. Claro, al principio Cha-rok no sabe nada de la enfermedad que rodea a Shim Deok, pero cuando lo descubre todo poco a poco comienza a cambiar de una manera más significativa en la trama.
I say it again, for many it is not the best series, but for me it is. That noble side, that human side and that side where we visualize the true values of people are indisputably invaluable.
Lo vuelvo a decir para muchos no es la mejor serie, pero para mí lo es. Ese lado noble, ese lado humano y ese lado donde visualizamos los verdaderos valores de las personas son indiscutiblemente invaluables.
I really like how Cha-rok challenged Mr. Shim Deok with something that not everyone could achieve at his age, he does it in a way that exalts and makes your skin crawl in a surprising way. Sometimes some human beings tend to belittle other people's dreams or desires, however, we don't know how much it means to them. This is one of the strongest messages in the series.
Me gusta mucho como Cha-rok retó al señor Shim Deok con algo que no todos podrían lograr a su edad, él lo hace de una manera que exalta y eriza la piel de una forma sorprendente. En ocasiones algunos seres humanos tienden a menospreciar el sueño o deseos de otras personas, no obstante, no sabemos que tanto significa para ellos. Este es uno de los mensajes más marcados dentro de la serie.
Navillera is a TVN production and is available on Netflix and only has 12 chapters, the format is a bit broad, however, it is attractive, also see that warm, familiar and human side make it a remarkable production.
Navillera es una producción de TVN y se encuentra disponible en Netflix y únicamente posee 12 capítulos, el formato es un poco amplio, sin embargo, es atractivo, además ver ese lado cálido, familiar y humano le hacen una producción notable.
Being 70 years old does not make it impossible to be able to have the power to achieve a desire, a longing and something that involves or pleases us. The value of everything is that path that each one of us can find. When I am told that something is impossible, I simply tell myself that everything is possible, I hold this because: the restrictions are those that we set for ourselves not to achieve our dreams.

El valor de todo es ese camino que podemos encontrar cada uno de nosotros. Cuando me dicen que algo es imposible, simplemente me digo que todo es posible, sostengo esto en razón de que: las restricciones son aquellas que nos establecemos para no alcanzar nuestros sueños.
Something that I must add and that is remarkable in this production is how it was filmed, first we see a season of the year and at the end we see how the snow begins to fall and shows that time is running out for the protagonist.
Algo que debo agregar y que es notable dentro de esta producción es como fue grabada, primero vemos una estación del año y en el cierre vemos como la nieve comienza a caer y demuestra que el tiempo para el protagonista se va acabando.
It's coming to an end so quickly where he has to face the fact that he has to forget everything, and also face his divided family, but they begin to understand him. Will this old man be able to dance ballet on stage? Will he be able to fulfill his dream? What did Lee Chae-rok learn from him?
Se va acabando de una manera tan rápida en donde debe afrontar el hecho de olvidarlo todo, y además enfrentar a su familia dividida, pero que comienza a entenderse por él. ¿Podrá este viejo anciano lograr bailar ballet en un escenario? ¿Podrá cumplir su sueño? ¿Qué es lo que Lee Chae-rok aprendió de él?

Esta serie está en mi lista de K-dramas pendientes. Vi el tráiler y me encantó. Ahora que leí tu reseña muy completa, se reafirma en la lista.
Los K-dramas definitivamente tienen otro nivel en cuanto a la parte emocional. Nada más hermoso que perseguir nuestros sueños, demostrando que la edad y las circunstancias adversas, pueden vencerse y podemos luchar por alcanzarlos. Se ve una preciosa historia. Los K. Dramas tienen un valor intrínseco realmente maravilloso, ese valor está determinado por eso que le hace invaluable. Pienso de ese modo o forma, las personas debemos luchar y seguir nuestro camino, por eso que nos atrae o apasiona en realidad. No importa edades o enfermedades. Espero que cuando puedas verla la disfrutes de manera significativa. 🙈

K-drama movies are good, I've seen some of them that have been great, really these Korean actors do a good job, I think I got into this world because of you because you talk about a lot of Korean movies, I can really see why, they are so great.
