There are things that we human beings cannot recover, it is like a small eclipsing fragment that is embedded, but if it is not let go it cannot be anything good for us. I start with this little reflection to look a little into the influence of this K-drama that is glimpsed in 16 chapters and is available on Netflix.

I have always believed that series that exude self-improvement are attractive, and captivating in every way. I visualize this as a way in which we can move forward and leave many things behind. One of the main outlines of this plot is how the protagonist is overcoming her present, and remembering that what she once was has collapsed, now what is important is what she is doing now.

At this point is where the role of Kang Dan-i is born, played by Lee Na-young, a professional woman who abandons her goals for something we all at one point wish to build: a Family. A family that appears to be perfect, a family that is built by oppressing and blowing up her husband who ends up failing and leaving her life a disaster. A disaster that does not even allow her to pay the rent for a modest place to live.

This part of the story is very shocking and is told in an introductory way that shows how sometimes decisions can be made that end up diluting everything. When we get married, or form a family, both parties should have professional and economic independence; however, this disappears when only the growth of one of them is prioritized. The reality is that Kang Dan-i gave up her dreams, her goals and her visions as a professional for a relationship that was not the best, but which she believed was her world.

It is my turn to express the emotional way in which the suffering of the protagonist of the story is glimpsed, it is overwhelming and also enveloping. Something that I like a lot in the whole story is the persistence of the protagonist, she goes from interview to interview looking for a job and most of them reject her because of her age, her inactivity and the lack of updating her knowledge. This happened to me once, but the issue was different, I went to many job interviews last year for a month, and in all of them they told me the same thing: you are overqualified, and you must have 3 or 5 years of experience, even though I was only 24 years old, sometimes they are not rational!

Even so, I did not give up, that same thing happened in this K-drama, that is to say, the protagonist persevered and all this perhaps happened because the person she decided to be with was not the right one. We got married to have a partner, a person to trust, and to enjoy life, not for her to be dedicated to be attentive to the food, or the home. People should respect and always give the best of ourselves in this aspect.

The reality is that this is only a small, reflective fragment of the plot, rather, the series has several striking criteria that intertwine very well: personal growth, comedy, work betrayals, contempt, and romance.

I like this series, for a totally captivating issue and that is that it is related to the creation of literature, editing and publishing books. The protagonist manages to get in a very painful way to a job in a publishing house where her best friend works, one who has had feelings for her since they were children.

This is where actor Lee Jong-suk comes in with his role as Cha Eun-ho, one with whom I felt and feel very identified, what is the reason? Well, he is a great editor who has also achieved economic independence, famous in the industry and also a professor. I would like to teach at a big university in the future.

Cha Eun-ho may look like a rigid person, but he gradually molds himself to the things that are really important to him, who is his important person? Kang Dan-i, is indisputably the most important person to him.

For its part, the series has a deep criticism of unemployment and the requirements for hiring professionals in South Korea, one that is blunt, if you are not young and with relationships you can not get an opportunity quickly. In South Korea, the majority of the population is overqualified for the jobs, this is also a nuance that is made evident in the K-drama and is very striking.

One of the most peculiar things in the story is the prioritization of the value of the work of each one, and of the authors who have written a book, that valorization leaves a vision of the essence and the primary focus of the story. Something I could perceive is how all the editors visualize the quality of the content, and reflect on the fact of the covers of each one of the books.

In K-drama, it is taken for granted that most people buy a book visually, so the marketing and aesthetics of the presentation is influential, but this does not mean that the book is really a masterpiece. Kang Dan-i, creates unique and captivating marketing strategies that make the consumer want to buy the book, it's like saying: come read me.

This is very peculiar, people do not buy features; we buy benefits to help us improve; however, this must also be accompanied by an aesthetic that can attract consumers and Kang Dan-i, really knows how to do it.

Certainly, I also liked the fact that these issues are glimpsed in the series; because they reflect the personal growth of the protagonist, but also the innovative way of positioning new marketing strategies.

If you lie to get a job everything can fall apart? Lies do not last forever, they easily turn to dust and become nothing. I have always thought that every action has a consequence: it is either positive or negative, so we have to face it without any delay and with mere responsibility. This is something that at one point Kang Dan-i understands, and I find it very appealing, because it feels like she issues a clear responsibility for her actions in the series.

Doors open where we least expect them and our human capabilities can be seen, can be seen through our perseverance and actions. Kang Dan-i may have made a mistake, but the plot forgives him by showing that we can make it out of the dark pit we find ourselves in if we persevere.

So never give up.
Así que nunca te rindas.

Love can also come to the fore, and bring friendship into play, but once the barrier is crossed there is no turning back. This is something Cha Eun-ho, glimpses in his character. He himself held himself back for many years, but seeing the reality of the woman he loves and who is his friend simply what he can do is to help her. At this point, each of his actions conveys a message: we must always help and maintain that balance in a relationship where both parties are overcoming each other.
