Este articulo lo comencé a escribir el mismo día en que se estrenó el episodio final de Ms. Marvel, pero como ya se ha vuelto costumbre para mí (involuntariamente), debí ausentarme de la Blockchain Hive por varias semanas a causa de problemas con la conexión a Internet. Así que con algo de retraso, en esta oportunidad les comento mi opinión sobre la serie que ha cosechado los más bajos índices de audiencia de todas las siete producciones televisivas que hasta ahora ha desarrollado Marvel Studios para la plataforma de streaming Disney+, digo esto pues al menos así parece ser el caso por la poca resonancia en redes sociales que ha conseguido el programa, y además, que las estadísticas ofrecidas por empresas o herramientas ajenas a la producción de esta obra, como es el caso de la aplicación para recomendación de contenido audiovisual Samba TV , también lo confirman con sus datos; si bien estos registros independientes no constituyen la totalidad, sino únicamente una porción de los números reales, nos dan una muestra bastante confiable que indica la poca cuota de pantalla que han logrado los episodios de la serie. Por cierto, seguramente otras series de Marvel como podría ser el caso de Inhumans que se estrenó en Netflix y fue un completo fracaso, hayan tenido una peor resección por parte del público, pero me estoy refiriendo únicamente a las realizadas por Marvel Studios, no a las de Marvel Television.
Es innegable que el nivel de interés suscitado entre la audiencia por esta serie es mucho más bajo que el de sus antecesoras, incluso What if...? que siendo una propuesta en formato de animación, produjo mayor expectación entre los fanáticos, sin embargo, no siempre un fracaso en la popularidad implica mala calidad del producto. Por lo tanto, en esta publicación además de reseñar en forma general la serie, intentaré responder la incógnita de si en realidad la historia y su puesta en escena es tan mala o al menos es inferior en calidad que las anteriores, o si, por el contrario, el motivo que ha causado el desinterés de la audiencia es externo a ella y tiene más que ver con prejuicios raciales o generacionales. Primeramente, estableceré el contexto en que compite la serie como producto de entretenimiento, luego mencionaré los elementos que me parecen destacables y finalmente aquello que en mi opinión se hizo mal, desmejorando la calidad general de la obra.
Desde antes del estreno de su primer episodio, ya una buena parte del público se había mostrado desmotivado a mirar sus capítulos, pues se le promocionó como una propuesta mucho más dirigida a un público adolescente que el resto de las producciones del estudio, se corrió la voz de que tendría las características típicas de una serie de Disney Chanel y eso causo que muchos adultos abandonaran la idea de verla. Eso se unió al hecho de que, para la mayor parte de la audiencia que no es fanática de los comics, Kamala Khan es un personaje completamente desconocido, mientras que para quienes si conocían al personaje, resultaba desagradable el cambio de los poderes que ella poseía en los comics, donde sus capacidades superheroicas estaban más relacionadas con la elasticidad de su cuerpo, gracias al desplazamiento espacio-temporal de sus moléculas, en cambio, en esta adaptación eso se modificó, dándole a sus poderes un carácter más energético, lo cual a mí personalmente me parece un acierto, ya que la hace tener más similitud con la Capitana Marvel y la ayuda a diferenciarse de Mr. Fantástico, pero a muchos de sus fanáticos no les gustó esto.

It is undeniable that the level of interest aroused among the audience by this series is much lower than that of its predecessors, including What if...? that being a proposal in animation format, it produced greater expectation among the fans, however, a failure in popularity does not always imply poor quality of the product. Therefore, in this publication, in addition to reviewing the series in general, I will try to answer the question of whether in reality the story and its staging is as bad or at least inferior in quality than the previous ones, or if, for the On the contrary, the reason that has caused the disinterest of the audience is external to it and has more to do with racial or generational prejudices. Firstly, I will establish the context in which the series competes as an entertainment product, then I will mention the elements that seem remarkable to me and finally what in my opinion was done wrong, deteriorating the general quality of the work.
Since before the premiere of its first episode, a good part of the public had already been discouraged from watching its chapters, since it was promoted as a proposal much more aimed at a teenage audience than the rest of the studio's productions, the voice that it would have the typical characteristics of a Disney Chanel series and that caused many adults to abandon the idea of seeing it. This was coupled with the fact that, for most of the audience that is not a fan of comics, Kamala Khan is a completely unknown character, while for those who did know the character, the change in the powers that she possessed was unpleasant. in the comics, where his superheroic abilities were more related to the elasticity of his body, thanks to the space-time displacement of his molecules, on the other hand, in this adaptation that was modified, giving his powers a more energetic character, which I personally find it a success, since it makes her more similar to Captain Marvel and helps her to differentiate herself from Mr. Fantastic, but many of her fans did not like this.
Por otro lado, se suma el hecho, de que la competencia por la preferencia del público en el momento de su publicación fue muy fuerte, pues se estrenaron casi simultaneamente las nuevas temporadas de éxitos televisivos como Stranger Things, The Boys, The Umbrella Academy, Peaky Blinders y especialmente Obi-Wan Kenobi, que pertenece a la propia Disney+, de modo que Ms. Marvel tuvo que luchar por la preferencia de los fans, contra proyectos muy destacados, cuando además las personas ya no cuentan con el tiempo disponible que tenían el año anterior estando en casa por la cuarentena y por lo que podían consumir mayor cantidad de obras que ahora. No pretendo con esto alegar excusas que apañen la poca calidad de la serie, solo establecer un marco de referencia justo, para que nos hagamos una idea de lo complicado que ha tenido el panorama esta producción al intentar mantener el impacto que tuvo Marvel con WandaVision, Loki o Moon Knight.
De hecho, a mí que soy bastante fan del Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel y que hasta ahora no me ha llamado la atención el universo de Star Wars, por lo que no preferiría una producción de esa franquicia antes que ver una de Marvel, la verdad es que Ms. Marvel me daba totalmente igual verla o no, tanto así que comencé a mirarla con muy pocas expectativas, el trailer me había motivado un poco, pero empecé a verla para no romper la cadena de obras del UCM que he visto sin interrupción. Debo admitir que el hecho de no presentar como protagonista a una actriz conocida y tener como ambientación de fondo a la comunidad musulmana, contribuía inicialmente a disminuir mi hype por la serie, lo cual no ocurrió por ejemplo con Hawkeye, pues Hailee Steinfeld por si sola ya era un motivo suficiente para ver ese producto o Moon Knight con Oscar Isaac, cuya premisa se me hacía muy interesante desde el primer momento. Sin embargo, luego de comenzar a verla, rápidamente le tomé aprecio a Iman Vellani como protagonista, creo que ella es uno de los puntos fuertes de esta producción, pues pese a su inexperiencia, creo que hace un buen trabajo, tiene bastante carisma y físicamente me parece una chica muy bonita.
La verdad todo el reparto me parece bueno, los actores y actrices elegidos los veo muy acordes a sus respectivos personajes y creo que tienen un nivel interpretativo más que decente, en cuanto al vestuario, la fotografía, el sonido, la música y demás aspectos técnicos tengo una muy buena apreciación de todo ello, mi problema con la serie se basa principalmente en el guion, ya que la trama me parece bastante deficiente, aun cuando tiene algunos buenos pasajes, pero en términos generales la narración se me hizo poco consistente, aburrida y en algunos momentos absurda, lo cual afecta negativamente la calidad de los personajes, no por la interpretación que realizan los miembros del elenco, sino por su planteamiento argumental y propósito en el desarrollo de la historia.
Mi opinión sobre el primer episodio y el segundo es que me parecieron bastante disfrutables, quizá no fueron una maravilla, pero creo que resultaron entretenidos, los detalles animados que tenía la edición de sus escenas me agrado mucho, eso se me hacía similar a lo visto en “La familia Mitchell vs. las máquinas”, hasta la inclusión de los detalles propios de la cultura árabe me parecía interesante. Por desgracia, desde el tercer episodio en adelante la serie fue decayendo progresivamente en su calidad argumental y en su grado de entretenimiento, dando paso a una trama poco interesante, lenta y tediosa, llena de conveniencias de guion, personajes inconsistentes y situaciones irracionales. Realmente el tercer episodio, aunque no fue tan bueno como los dos primeros, tampoco está mal, hasta ese momento todo podía haber salido bien, pero el cuarto y el quinto son los que terminan arruinándolo todo. El capítulo final como es normal tuvo un ritmo mucho mejor, mostró buena acción y reveló el traje de la protagonista, así como el origen de su nombre de super heroína, pero el daño ya estaba hecho y aunque el final es entretenido, la historia completa es intrascendente y tiene unos cuantos detalles muy negativos, empezando por unos villanos terribles y un pesado e inadecuado acercamiento a la sociedad paquistaní.

In fact, I'm quite a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and so far the Star Wars universe hasn't caught my attention, so I wouldn't prefer a production from that franchise to seeing one from Marvel, the truth is that Ms. Marvel totally didn't care whether I saw her or not, so much so that I began to watch her with very little expectation, the trailer had motivated me a bit, but I began to see her so as not to break the chain of UCM works that I have seen without interruption. I must admit that the fact of not presenting a well-known actress as the protagonist and having the Muslim community as the background setting, initially contributed to diminish my hype for the series, which did not happen for example with Hawkeye, because Hailee Steinfeld by herself It was reason enough to see that product or Moon Knight with Oscar Isaac, whose premise made me very interesting from the first moment. However, after starting to see her, I quickly came to appreciate Iman Vellani as the protagonist, I think she is one of the strong points of this production, because despite her inexperience, I think she does a good job, she has a lot of charisma and physically I think she is a very pretty girl.
The truth is that the entire cast seems good to me, the actors and actresses chosen seem very much in keeping with their respective characters and I think they have a more than decent interpretive level, in terms of costumes, photography, sound, music and other technical aspects. I have a very good appreciation of all this, my problem with the series is based mainly on the script, since the plot seems quite deficient to me, even when it has some good passages, but in general terms the narration was not very consistent, boring and at times absurd, which negatively affects the quality of the characters, not because of the interpretation performed by the cast members, but because of their plot approach and purpose in the development of the story.
My opinion about the first episode and the second is that I found them quite enjoyable, perhaps they were not wonderful, but I think they were entertaining, I liked the animated details that the editing of their scenes had, that seemed similar to what I had seen In "The Mitchell Family vs. the machines”, even the inclusion of the details of the Arab culture seemed interesting to me. Unfortunately, from the third episode onwards, the series gradually declined in its plot quality and in its level of entertainment, giving way to an uninteresting, slow and tedious plot, full of script conveniences, inconsistent characters and irrational situations. Actually the third episode, although it wasn't as good as the first two, isn't bad either, until then everything could have gone well, but the fourth and fifth are the ones that end up ruining everything. The final chapter, as usual, had a much better rhythm, showed good action and revealed the main character's costume, as well as the origin of her superhero name, but the damage was already done and although the ending is entertaining, the complete story it is inconsequential and has a few very negative details, starting with some terrible villains and a heavy and inappropriate approach to Pakistani society.

Como ya mencioné los villanos son totalmente olvidables, sus poderes son casi inexistentes o se muestran muy poco, las motivaciones que presentan son bastante mediocres, pues solo intentan volver a la dimensión paralela de la que provienen y de la que no se sabe nada, ni se muestra cómo fue que salieron de allí quedando varados en el universo principal del UCM. No me molesta que se les haya dado un origen que los hace ser Genios o Djinns, de hecho, me parece muy interesante que se nos cuente una historia en la que se involucra a una cultura, que es poco conocida en occidente y que pertenece a una comunidad que ha sido tan maltratada en los últimos tiempos dentro de la sociedad estadounidense, por su “relación” con el fundamentalismo islámico.
Sin embargo, el desarrollo de su arco narrativo me parece terrible, para ser Genios son muy poco poderosos y nada intimidantes, además se alejan de las características propias de estos seres místicos de la cultura musulmana, ya que, para ser más coherente con ello, la historia debería dotarles de invisibilidad, intangibilidad, de la capacidad de posesión espiritual sobre las personas y la posibilidad de ser encerrados en objetos, como ocurre con la lámpara de Aladino, incluso me habría gustado que el origen de los poderes de Kamala hubiesen sido el fruto de un deseo concedido por un genio atrapado en una reliquia familiar. Tanto me habría gustado una historia de ese estilo, que me ha pasado por la mente escribir un fanfic con mi propia versión alternativa de la serie.
Hay varios detalles puntuales que se pueden mencionar en relación a lo floja que es la argumentación y el desarrollo de los acontecimientos narrados, como por ejemplo la forma en que la abuela de Kamala la hace viajar a Pakistán para luego no darle mayor información sobre sus poderes, así mismo la instantánea aceptación del viaje por parte de su mamá, por otro lado la manera en que escapan los clandestinos (los malos) luego de ser capturados por Control de Daños y como inmediatamente llegan al lugar en que ella se encuentra en Pakistán, también el hecho de que los miembros de la organización Red Dagger sean solo dos personas (me gusta que hayan convertido al personaje en una agrupación, pero ese grupo debería ser más numeroso), peor aún es la manera en que la madre de Kamran, repentinamente se sacrifica por su hijo al que poco antes había abandonado con gran crueldad y le transfiere de forma inexplicable super poderes similares a los de la protagonista. Tampoco me gusta que la familia de Kamala, especialmente su mamá, acepte tan fácil que ella siendo una jovencita se convierta en heroína y ponga su vida en riesgo, eso tendría que tener una mejor justificación y evolución.

It doesn't bother me that they have been given an origin that makes them Geniuses or Djinns, in fact, I find it very interesting that we are told a story in which a culture is involved, which is little known in the West and belongs to a community that has been so mistreated in recent times within American society, for its "relationship" with Islamic fundamentalism.
However, the development of their narrative arc seems terrible to me, to be Geniuses they are very little powerful and not at all intimidating, they also move away from the characteristics of these mystical beings of Muslim culture, since, to be more consistent with it, the story should endow them with invisibility, intangibility, the ability to spiritually possess people and the possibility of being locked up in objects, as is the case with Aladdin's lamp, I would even have liked the origin of Kamala's powers to have been the Fruit of a wish granted by a genie trapped in a family heirloom. I would have liked a story like that so much that it crossed my mind to write a fanfic with my own alternative version of the series.
There are several specific details that can be mentioned in relation to the looseness of the plot and the development of the narrated events, such as the way in which Kamala's grandmother makes her travel to Pakistan and then does not give her more information about her powers. , likewise the instant acceptance of the trip by her mother, on the other hand the way in which the clandestines (the bad guys) escape after being captured by Damage Control and how they immediately arrive at the place where she is in Pakistan, also the fact that the members of the Red Dagger organization are only two people (I like that they have turned the character into a group, but that group should be more numerous), worse still is the way in which Kamran's mother, suddenly He sacrifices himself for his son whom he had abandoned shortly before with great cruelty and inexplicably transfers super powers similar to those of the protagonist to him. I also don't like that Kamala's family, especially her mother, accepts so easily that she, being a young girl, becomes a heroine and puts her life at risk, that should have a better justification and evolution.
No obstante, más allá de todas esas deficiencias argumentales, lo que para mí como fanático del UCM es realmente imperdonable, es el innecesario viaje en el tiempo y correspondiente paradoja que se produce en el quinto episodio, donde Kamala se traslada al pasado, durante la Partición de la India, y gracias a sus poderes reúne a su abuela, que para ese momento es solo una niña, con el padre de esta, evitando que la pequeña se pierda entre la multitud. Eso podría estar bien, si no constituyera una violación a las leyes de viaje en el tiempo definidas en Endgame, donde se establece que cambiar el pasado no modifica el futuro, sino que genera una línea temporal alterna. En este caso, seguramente se argumentará que Kamala no cambió el pasado, solo hizo lo que ya estaba preestablecido que ocurriría, pero eso es ilógico, ya que si ella no hubiese intervenido, su abuela se habría perdido y ella posiblemente no existiría o al menos no viviría en Estados Unidos, de modo que sí cambió su futuro. Si por el contrario, la explicación es que la regla anterior solo es válida para viajes científicos y no para viajes místicos, tampoco me agrada ese argumento, creo que no había necesidad de hacer eso.
Ya para terminar con este largo artículo, debo decir que el cambio de Kamala de ser Inhumana en los comics a ser Mutante en el UCM, tampoco es algo que me agrade demasiado, pero no me molesta del todo, creo que solo requería mejor desarrollo. En cuanto a la escena post créditos me parece interesante, aunque es algo extraño eso de intercambiarse Ms. Marvel con la Capitana Marvel así inesperadamente, seguro eso estará relacionado con las llamadas Nega Bandas del Capitán Marvel en los comics, ya veremos cómo se adapta a la pantalla y que tan bueno es el resultado, pero, dado que esa historia se desarrollará en la película The Marvels, la cual estará protagonizada por Carol Danvers, que es uno de los super héroes menos carismáticos de la franquicia, Monica Rambeau, que apenas es conocida por la serie WandaVision y también por Kamala Khan que proviene de esta serie poco popular, será complicado lograr un gran éxito en taquilla.
Finalmente, respondiendo a la pregunta del título, solo la recomendaría a quienes como yo sean muy fanáticos del UCM y por tanto disfruten su estética, quieran conocer el origen del personaje, la presentación de su traje, la procedencia de sus poderes... para lo cual sugiero principalmente ver el primero y el último episodio, pero mi calificación general para Ms. Marvel es de 5,5 / 10, es decir que si lo que buscas es una buena serie para disfrutar su historia, no vale la pena que dediques tu tiempo a verla, yo diría que solo es apropiada para quienes deseamos estar al día con todo el contenido de Marvel, sabiendo que habrá productos de menor calidad que debemos ver si no queremos perder el hilo de todo el universo del que somos fanáticos.

That could be fine, if it did not constitute a violation of the time travel laws defined in Endgame, where it is established that changing the past does not modify the future, but rather generates an alternate timeline. In this case, it will surely be argued that Kamala did not change the past, she just did what was already pre-established to happen, but that is illogical, since if she had not intervened, her grandmother would have been lost and she possibly would not exist or at least he would not live in the United States, so he did change his future. If, on the other hand, the explanation is that the previous rule is only valid for scientific trips and not for mystical trips, I don't like that argument either, I think there was no need to do that.
To end this long article, I must say that Kamala's change from being an Inhuman in the comics to being a Mutant in the MCU is not something I like too much either, but it doesn't bother me at all, I think it just needed better development. As for the post-credits scene, it seems interesting to me, although it is somewhat strange that Ms. Marvel is exchanged with Captain Marvel like this unexpectedly, surely that will be related to the so-called Nega Bands of Captain Marvel in the comics, we will see how it adapts to the screen and how good it turns out, but since that story will unfold in The Marvels movie, which will star Carol Danvers, who is one of the least charismatic superheroes in the franchise, Monica Rambeau, who barely is known for the WandaVision series and also for Kamala Khan who comes from this unpopular series, it will be difficult to achieve a great success at the box office.
Finally, answering the question of the title, I would only recommend it to those who like me are very fanatical about the MCU and therefore enjoy its aesthetics, want to know the origin of the character, the presentation of his suit, the origin of his powers... which I mainly suggest watching the first and last episode, but my overall rating for Ms. Marvel is 5.5 / 10, meaning if you're looking for a good series to enjoy its story, it's not worth spending Take your time to watch it, I would say that it is only appropriate for those of us who want to be up to date with all the Marvel content, knowing that there will be lower quality products that we must see if we do not want to lose the thread of the entire universe that we are fans of.

Me considero un fan de Marvel pero después de sufrir varias decepciones con algunas de sus series anteriores, esta es una que no tengo pensado ver y que voy a pasar. De ser necesario me veré un resumen o algo así, pero tengo claro que no voy a ver la serie completa.
Es totalmente lógico y entendible que no te motives a verla si ya te has sentido decepcionado con productos anteriores, que sin duda presentan un mayor nivel que el de esta serie, aunque por supuesto todo es cuestión de apreciación, quizá haya personas para las que esta sea la mejor de las producciones del UCM, hay gustos de todo tipo. Sin embargo, creo que, viendo un resumen y el tráiler de la serie, no te estarás perdiendo de mucho. Saludos y gracias por dejar tu comentario por aca.
Yo sinceramente pienso que Ms Marvel paso sin pena ni gloria por mis ojos, dejando poco tras de si en mi memoria y mucho menos en mis gustos :S, pudo ser mejor, pero sin duda pudo ser muchisimo peor, sin dudas fue una apuesta dura de marvel para traer nuevos personajes al MCU :)
Tal como comenta, pudo ser mucho peor, está claro que la serie tiene puntos bastante disfrutables y hace un intento por incluir a una cultura no occidental lo cual no es sencillo y tiene su mérito, pero tratándose de un estudio cinematográfico que obtiene tal volumen de ganancias con sus blockbusters y que tiene semejante potencial para crear productos de gran calidad, que además se enfrenta constantemente al escrutinio y ataque de quienes adversan el tipo de contenido que produce, con el deseo de acabar con su éxito, entonces creo que es imperativo que los que somos fanáticos de esta franquicia cinematográfica y televisiva, realicemos críticas constructivas y demandemos calidad en cada obra que se produzca, para que lo que tanto mencionan los críticos sobre la saturación y el declive de UCM no se vuelva una realidad y podamos continuar disfrutando por mucho más tiempo de esta gran saha de historias interconectadas que personalmente tanto me gusta. I certainly was a little excited about Ms marvel but a friend of mine saw I before me and his review discouraged me a lot from watching it, so I didn't see it...
I don't know what Marvel were thinking but I think they're making a lot of unnecessary changes to characters that we've come to know...but I guess they always have a bigger picture knowing how marvel is, making her stronger isn't something I would dislike but it could have had a better storyline
I'm not personally opposed to changes being made from the original stories in the comics, but as long as they add depth to the characters, such as in the case of Thanos's motivations for eliminating half the universe, instead convert I don't like the Hulk in a tondo. So the changes made to Moon Knight are fine, but the ones to Ms. Marvel don't work because the storyline is bad. Greetings and thank you very much for reading and commenting.
