That's the argument: It wasn't "banned" but by not having a rating that means that very few theaters can actually host it, or maybe none can, I don't know much about how things work in Europe. There is some reason to be suspicious of that for sure. It's pretty graphic sure, but not any more than other films that do end up with a rating.
