My Fantasy Rescue Mission: Guess Who’s Leading It?
Our world today has become a very scary place. A while back, a friend of mine in Nigeria would always post updates about kidnappings going on in their country and I thought about how much trauma these victims and their families have to go through. I thought that the issue of kidnapping was just in movie and that was to help keep us alert of such things. But I guess it paid us a visit in real life.
Fast forward to this year, just a few weeks ago I saw someone post on twitter about some people getting kidnapped in capital city of Ghana and while everyone thought it wasn’t true, the victims came out to actually confirm it. It’s funny how we all think it can’t happen to us but guess what, it can. No matter who you are, anything can happen to you for absolutely no reason.
I wouldn’t say I can’t get kidnapped, I can but I for sure wouldn’t put myself in that position. But then again, let’s assume this was a movie and I happen to get missing somewhere or worse, kidnapped. What was I going to do? I’d pray to God to send me a miracle and he will send me one which would be me having to choose one fictional character to come rescue me. With this, there will be a lot of heroes to choose from and so I’m going to need a few minutes because my life will literally depend on my decision.
With the million of heroes I could call on to save, I most definitely won’t go in for a Marvel character because they would probably do too much.lol. I just want my escape to be a peaceful one with no drama or damage. From the long list, I think I’d eventually settle for Alladin’s genie because I’d already know what deal I’m going to be offered. 3 wishes for free and if I’m lucky, I might be able to trick the genie into making it four.
At the end of the day, the plan is to get rescued and also get the chance to enjoy after. My three wishes will be used wisely and this is how I’m going to use them. The first one would be to save me, the second would be to go on a long vacation with a lot of money to heal from the trauma and the third will be used to save anyone who has also been kidnapped. This way, I get to save myself, save others and create change. This I believe is better than Spider-Man coming to scatter everything and drawing a lot of attention after everything. I want my escape to swift and quiet.

Aladdin genie was someone I loved watching when I was very young, but I guess your choice changes as you grow up. We pray we aren't found in situations where we'd be kidnapped because it's not a good thing. I can't imagine those who have been kidnapped.
