‎‎We all have our own struggles or challenges in life, and we don't expect others to understand or question our motives. I see a lot of mad people in our society today and I ask myself why? But I realize that not all mad people we see are truly or really mad.
‎
Some disguise themselves as mad people just for safety. Some do so in others to uncover a hidden truth. This movie BEHIND THE LAUGHS is indeed an interesting movie. Nathan is a young man in his 30's who pretends to be mad so as to find evidence against his uncle (Mr Ekene), who murdered his father and was also involved in child trafficking. Mr Ekene is the younger brother of Mr Nwadike (Nathan's father). Mr Nwadike is one of the biggest car importers in the society , but his younger brother Mr Ekene was involved in a woman and child trafficking business under the nose of his brother Mr Nwadike.

Though Mr Ekene was known to be generous and kind hearted, behind that generosity, was a means of getting children for his trafficking business. When Mr Nwadike found out about his younger brother's trafficking business, he try to report him to the police after trying to convince him to stop and join the family car business, Mr Ekene refused to leave the business instead shot his elder brother dead without thinking twice, not knowing his son Nathan saw and heard everything. Nathan called out to his uncle and fled for his life.

‎To cover all his tracks he had to eliminate Nathan, but could not because Nathan got into an accident.
‎
Nathan went into a coma for a days, when he woke up, he pleaded with the doctor to tell his uncle that because of the accident He (Nathan) will not be normal again. For Mr Ekene to be sure that he's crime did not lick, hire a caregiver to keep strict watch over Nathan, in a month Mr Ekene hired 4 (four) caregivers but none of them lasted for a month.

‎Unknown to them all, Nathan has been sneaking out of the house to meet with his private investigator, that is investigating his uncle, being evidence about his uncle's involvement in woman and child trafficking.

‎Whereas his uncle is after the CCTV password so that he will delete all the evidence that links him to his brother's death.
‎
‎Sharon is a graduate who has been on a job hunt for days without finding any. During one her job on her way back a vehicle splashed water on her that was how she met Mr Ekene who generously gave her clothes to change her wait dress.

‎
‎Out of frustration to care for her daily needs Sharon finds work as a professional mourner. It was on Nathan's father's burial that she met Nathan who clicked to her calling her his wife, Just to frustrate his uncle in his father's burial, since there's no way for him to sneak out.

‎When Nathan got all the evidence he's been looking for, against his uncle he opened up to Sharon who finally helped him accomplish his mission, and his uncle was arrested with his boys.
‎

‎So we should not look down on mad people because we don't understand what they are going through and we don't know if they are really mad.
