[MOVIE REVIEW] WRATH OF MAN (2021)
Wrath of Man is one of the movie which I enjoyed watching over and over again, this movie was directed by two iconic men Guy Ritchie and starring Jason Statham. The movie tells the story of a quiet and mysterious man known only as H, who gets a job at an armored truck security company. At first, he appears to be an ordinary employee, but everything changes when he shows incredible fighting and shooting skills during a robbery. His actions surprise everyone around him and make his coworkers wonder who he really is. When the movie continues I discovered that H have a personal mission rather than just protecting cash during delivery.
This movie was so interesting because of how they build up the suspense. Instead of revealing everything from the beginning, the story slowly uncovers the truth about H through different timelines and perspectives. Although I found the movie confusing because how the storyline was arranged but along the line I began to understand everything. This style kept me interested and made me want to continue watching until the end.
Jason Statham made a very good performance in this movie, making the movie to be unique and interesting to watch multiple times. Unlike many of his action movies where he speaks a lot, his character in Wrath of Man is calm, serious, and speaks very little. His facial expressions and body language say more than words. He didn't talk much in this movie but with his actions shows he is truly seeking justice for the death of his son which any father will understand the pain he went through.
This movie have alot of action scenes which made the movie more interesting. They are well-planned, realistic, and intense without feeling exaggerated. Every gunfight has a purpose and adds to the story instead of existing just for entertainment. The armored truck robberies create constant tension because you never know what will happen next. The final showdown is especially exciting, with smart tactics and plenty of suspense that keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
The movie teaches us that every crime you commits they is consequences attached to it. It shows how one violent act can destroy many lives and leave lasting emotional scars. H's desire for revenge is understandable because of his tragic loss, but the movie also reminds us that revenge comes with a heavy cost. It raises questions about justice, anger, and whether taking revenge can truly bring peace to someone who has suffered greatly.
Supporting cast also played their own role very well which helps to make all the scenes interesting. The criminals are not shown as unbeatable masterminds but as people whose greed and poor choices eventually catch up with them. The security company played a good role, by showing us how risky it is to transport money.
The cinematography and soundtrack deserve special mention. The dark color tones perfectly match the serious mood of the film. The music is used carefully to increase tension without overwhelming the scenes. Guy Ritchie's direction gives the movie a unique style that combines mystery, action, and drama in a balanced way. The pace in some part of the movie is slow but it helps to build the action that is about to happen.
From the begining to the end of the movie is very interesting, every part has a serious action that took place. There are very few lighthearted moments, so viewers looking for humor may find it emotionally heavy. Also, because the story jumps between different timelines, some viewers may need to pay close attention to avoid missing important details. However, these choices ultimately make the movie more rewarding because they allow the audience to piece together the full story gradually.
If you want an intelligent movie filled with actions and suspense, then go and watch wrath of man and thank me later. It keeps you guessing, delivers satisfying action, and leaves you thinking about the consequences of revenge long after the credits roll. I would gladly recommend it to anyone who enjoys crime thrillers and well-crafted action films.
For me, it is a movie that deserves a solid 9 out of 10.
