Hi everybody. How are you? I hope you don't get bored with my review film. A few months ago, I watched a movie called "pachinko". This film is adapted from the novel of the same name, Pachinko. Why I was attracted to this film, because the background is about Korean women who have to survive in Japan during the Japanese occupation.

We know that Korea was colonized by Japan. During the colonial period, 2 million Koreans migrated to Japan. Right after the second world war, these people came home. Did anyone survive? There are many Koreans surviving in Japan. In this film, we begin to see the struggle of Koreans against discrimination. And then survive in a different culture, especially in the midst of world wars. There is a lot of discrimination that Koreans experience when they are supposed to be in Japan.

synopsis

Tells the story of Kim Sunja, who was born in Busan in the 20th century. At that time, Korea was besieged by Japan. Sunja falls in love with a man named Hansu. He was a very handsome man. There are different social classes between sunja and hansu. Bad luck must happen at sunja. Sunja is pregnant with Hansu's child out of wedlock.

He (Hansu) doesn't even intend to marry Sunja because he has family in Japan. Until finally a priest named Baek Isak married With Sunja. After getting married, Sunja and had to move to Japan. What happened to sunja in Japan? Sunja has to face difficult times in Japan. Moreover, sunja is an immigrant without administration.

Come up with 3 versions of sunja

In this film there are three versions of sunja. Since sunja was a child, sunja had to see the cruelty of the Japanese soldiers against her family. Then, as an adult, Sunja had to experience bad luck. Lastly, the old sunja version. In his old age, sunja spent time with the people around him. From this time, sunja has determined that her life will not be insulted and trampled on by others.

In Japan, sunja is determined to achieve his fortune and get out of abundance which he does. This film shows the stress experienced by women during the Japanese occupation. Moreover, while living in Japan, Sunja had to accept the harsh reality if her sobs were suppressed. Sunja's incompetence is the focus of this film. Koreans had difficulty communicating with Japanese at that time.

Has 2 different plots

This film takes two plots from different eras. The first plot is told against the backdrop of the early 20th century. So the second plot retells to 1989. In 1989, it depicts sunja's grandson, Solomon Baek, struggling with challenges at work. However, moving this plot doesn't feel very good. The impression shown in this drama is hard to catch.
