Good evening blog friends, here I am again to review one of the latest films seen. I think it's the first time I write in this community, I usually publish in the competition community ah ah ah. Anyway, last night I found this film on Netflix, the film is a very intense thriller from the 90s, lately I'm re-evaluating the films of the 90s a lot. Here we can admire a young Kiefer Sutherland, very good as always. This thriller is very engaging and full of suspense and has a fairly fast pace for the time. The plot is, if you like, quite basic even if perhaps years ago it wasn't. Karen is a working mother of two daughters Julie and Megan, one day she gets stuck in traffic just when she has to prepare things for the birthday party of her youngest daughter Megan, so she calls with an unusual in our eyes, cell phone, her eldest daughter Julie who is home alone, during the phone call Julie is brutally attacked and her mother feels all the pain and impotence of hearing the attack on the phone. Unfortunately she does not arrive in time to save her daughter and she and her husband live the torment of having lost a daughter in such a cruel way, killed and raped. They try to move on for the sake of their youngest daughter Megan but for Karen it is not possible to move on until she knows who is guilty, who did those horrible things to her eldest daughter.

Creo que es la primera vez que escribo en esta comunidad; normalmente publico en la comunidad de la competencia. En fin, anoche encontré esta película en Netflix. Es un thriller muy intenso de los 90. Últimamente estoy reevaluando mucho el cine de los 90. Aquí podemos admirar a un joven Kiefer Sutherland, muy bueno como siempre. Este thriller es muy atractivo, lleno de suspense y con un ritmo bastante rápido para la época. La trama es, si se quiere, bastante básica, aunque quizás hace años no lo fuera. Karen es una madre trabajadora de dos hijas Julie y Megan, un día se queda atrapada en el tráfico justo cuando tiene que preparar cosas para la fiesta de cumpleaños de su hija menor Megan, por lo que llama con un inusual a nuestros ojos, teléfono celular, a su hija mayor Julie que está sola en casa, durante la llamada telefónica Julie es brutalmente atacada y su madre siente todo el dolor e impotencia de escuchar el ataque en el teléfono. Desafortunadamente no llega a tiempo para salvar a su hija y ella y su esposo viven el tormento de haber perdido a una hija de una manera tan cruel, asesinada y violada. Intentan seguir adelante por el bien de su hija menor Megan pero para Karen no es posible seguir adelante hasta que sepa quién es el culpable, quién le hizo esas cosas horribles a su hija mayor.

One day a man is arrested for Julie's murder, there is a trial but due to a bureaucratic technicality he is released, he doesn't seem like a good person but everyone should be given the benefit of the doubt. Karen however is convinced that he is guilty and believes she has suffered an immense injustice in not seeing him convicted, so she studies him, she finds out about him, that man's life becomes her obsession and Karen begins to harbor a great desire for revenge that will unfortunately also put her in grave danger. Strengths and weaknesses of the film? Let's start with the flaws, the phase of mourning and suffering is addressed in a somewhat superficial way and quickly goes too quickly from pain to ruthless revenge, some characters are a bit flat when instead it would have been great to explore them further, including the villain. Strengths, the plot is not boring, it is a good mix between thriller and action and there is an excellent cast even if this is not the film for their potential. However, if you are looking for a 90's thriller to watch in one night, I recommend it!

Un día, arrestan a un hombre por el asesinato de Julie. Hay juicio, pero debido a un tecnicismo burocrático, lo liberan. No parece una buena persona, pero todos deberían tener el beneficio de la duda. Karen, sin embargo, está convencida de su culpabilidad y cree haber sufrido una inmensa injusticia al no verlo condenado, así que lo estudia, descubre cosas sobre él, la vida de ese hombre se convierte en su obsesión y Karen comienza a albergar un gran deseo de venganza que, lamentablemente, también la pondrá en grave peligro. ¿Fortalezas y debilidades de la película? Algunos personajes son un poco planos cuando, en cambio, habría sido genial explorarlos más a fondo, incluido el villano. Fortalezas: la trama no es aburrida, es una buena mezcla de thriller y acción, y el reparto es excelente, aunque esta no sea la película que mejor explote su potencial. Sin embargo, si buscas un thriller de los 90 para ver en una noche, ¡te lo recomiendo!
