Foundation TV series - Worth the watch?

I watched the first 2 episodes of the Foundation series (the only 2 that came out so far). I would have posted a review. But the one linked below makes most of the same points as I would have.

For reasons it explains, there was no way to make a TV series out of Foundation without significant modifications to the story. But, at the same time, this version (at least so far) mostly misses the point of the original and instead substitutes various conventional sci fi tropes, with an occasional dose of fairly simplistic political commentary.

The jury is still out (in my mind, at least) on whether it will be interesting enough to watch through the end of the series. But it is not anything like a faithful retelling of the Foundation story, nor is it an insightful and original product in its own right.

Finally, when I say it isn't faithful, I don't mean it's because several key characters are transformed from men to women, or because many of them are nonwhite. The gender of the characters in the original books matters very little, and their races are left unspecified. The problem is that the story doesn't actually focus on the issues the book series tries to address.

*I should note that the linked review has a few minor spoilers.
