This movie was one of the oldest comedy i grew up watching, it was produced in 1988 before i was even born, it was one of the best old comedy i grew up watching where eddie Murphy played the role of a prince akeem and his best friend semmi.
Akeem was pampered and went insearch of a girlfriend who will love hom for whom he us not for being a prince of african nation zemunda,at the end Akeem finally found the love he was looking for Lisa McDowell.
She liked him for him, not because he was a prince from Zamunda.
He chose to go against tradition and marry for love. And of course, Zamunda had to accept it 😂
The ending was sweet, funny, and it tied everything together perfectly.. he played many role in the movie, almost half by himself 😆 which include

1. THE BARBERSHOP ARGUMENT
Those 4 old men arguing for 10 minutes about Ray Charles vs James. Brown, Saul, Clarence, and Morris argue all day about boxing, life, and everything. It’s where most of the funny quotes come from. Eddie Murphy plays 3 people in this one scene 😂

those are the four scenes that i still remember very much since my childhood age, especially the argument that has no conclusion.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
Coming To America is more than just a comedy. It’s about finding real love, staying humble, and laughing at yourself.
Eddie playing 4 characters in one movie? Nobody does that again 😂
Even in 2026, we’re still quoting "White folks love that mess" and "Sexual Chocolate".
