‎This horror movie is one of the best of the year. I've been seeing people post about it and luckily, one of my church members had it on her phone, so I got to watch it.

‎Weapon is an American psychological horror movie about a class that mysteriously flees on the same night, leaving only one child in the class, which led the community to question who and what is the cause of their disappearance. It was released on 8 August, 2025.

‎I'd say Weapon is indeed a dark comedy that'll make you jump when you least expect it. It takes some movies a while to build up suspense, but this one grabs your attention from the very first scene. The movie is tense and gripping, exceeding the immense hype surrounding it. ‎I saw people's reviews about how horrific it is, but also how it's the best horror movie of the year. Now I know why people were praising the movie. The first scene got me hooked. It was a jump scare movie and I couldn't predict what would happen next. The scenes were so intense that I couldn't help but be fully engaged.

Tension build when the missing kids schoolteacher, Julia Garner (Justine Gandy) receives a threatening letter and is blamed for the kids disappearance. Every character has a narrative story, including the cops and a drug addict (played by Austin Abrams and Benedict Wong respectively) and they all play their parts effectively.

‎The movie masterfully blends a sharp mix of mystery and dark humor, with phenomenal acting and suspense crafted with precision. The flim expertly balances intense moments with subtle break, keeping the mood intact. The plot, though confusing, is terrifying, the kids disappearance in one night will have you on the edge of your seat. The balance of horror and comedy is well done, easing the tension without diluting the impact.

‎Weapon has so many twists and turn that'll keep you hooked, eager to uncover the truth behind the children's disappearance. The acting felt authentic and satisfying, with excellent characters performances. I'd rate it 9/10. I highly recommend this movie to fans of dark horror.

Certainly one of the better horror movies of the year!
For myself, I rated it just below some of my all-time favorites like It Follow, The Babadook, Talk To Me, & The Babadook which is from the same director the last one.

I haven't seen Babadook but I've seen Talk to me. I'd love to watch Babadook. Thanks for stopping by.
