Ginny and Georgia - A Stunning Showcase
With a joyful heart, I write this review. It’s not everytime I get to find a series that pleased me to no end. This was one of the many series I started during my slump some months back, and didn’t think it was all that till I was out the slump. I got back to this series about two days ago, and since then, every trace of discipline I’ve had instilled in me, flew out the window. I binge watched the complete three seasons in just two days.
Ginny and Georgia is an American comedy Television show consisting of three seasons. Georgia Miller and her two kids - Ginny and Austin, have just moved to Wellsbury. Charismatic and irresistible, Georgia charms her way into the lives of the citizens of the town, influencing each of them, from the mayor to the townsmen. She is welcomed into society, just as quickly as she garners enemies but Georgia being Georgia, she will always win.
Now, I really don’t understand why this series is getting any amount of hate. It isn’t deserved because all I was left with after watching, is literal praise. This was totally different from anything I’ve watched in a while, and there’s the fact that I watched all seasons with the same enthusiasm I started it out with. To be honest, the person who recommended this to me, wasn’t totally positive about it, so I anticipated something unsatisfactory while I watched, but it was nowhere to be found. You know when you looked forward to disappointment but it was nowhere to be found? Yeahh, that’s a rare thing to experience when it comes to movies.
Oh boy! The characters. Georgia Miller was described as a force in the show, and that’s just what she is. She gets what she wants, does what seems fair according to her warped sense of morality and most of all, she loved so fiercely. Her manipulation skills were so good that she had me, a viewer rooting for her even when she was clearly in the wrong.
As for Ginny Miller, I’ll say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I have mixed feelings towards her. She was so mean at the beginning, but at the end, she was sweet. The logic behind some of her actions left me unsettled but she wasn’t a bad character either. She felt too much, and I think that messed up the way she reacted most of the time.

There were other characters though. Paul Randolph, a poor victim of Georgia Miller.😂 I never would have predicted the dark turn of events for him. It’s such a pity he went through all that. There was also Marcus Baker, Ginny’s friend and the calm to her storm. He constantly did more for Ginny than he felt towards his own self, and it was sad. I liked him too.
This was a pretty intense series that was near-perfect in my opinion. The pacing, was exactly the same from start to finish. It ended off much more intensely than the beginning, the acting was stellar and the storyline? Everything. It had a dramatic end to it and I have to commend the fact that even with the suspense, I knew how life was going to go on for the characters. We’ve been given such an in-depth view into the characters’ personalities, so I could pretty much predict what that suspensful and dramatic ending meant for them. Still, we go again next season.
I’ll rate this show a 9/10. It didn’t lack in many aspects, and I’m glad I got to watch it, without hype getting in my way. You should watch it too, if you’re into television shows. You won’t be left disappointed.
Thanks for reading.
