I've said it so many times, I watch movies on a whim. Most especially, if I have seen a fun clip from the movie. A clip of a girl running from a masked man, on TikTok, was all it took me to download the eighteen episodes of this crime drama, which I completed it in three days. Read on, while I tell you the amazing, fun and entertaining things about this drama.

Pretty little liars is a crime drama, with a total of eighteen episodes, divided into two seasons. It stars Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, Malia Pyles and Zaria as it's main characters. In 1999, five friends, were masterminds behind the death of a fellow student, Angela Waters. It's 2022, and these five friends, turned mothers, now have their daughters attending the same school - Millwood High.

These five girls - Imogen, Tabby, Noa, Minnie and Faran, find themselves forming a bond, when they each have an altercation with a bully, and are placed on detention. Their bond becomes even tighter after they receive cryptic messages from an anonymous A. Now, this is where it starts. Having moved on, their mothers' history with Angela Waters, has become a past secret, the odds that their daughters are now being haunted for a crime they committed over 20 years ago, seems uncanny. When one of them dies, they initially write her death off as suicide. Not until they begin to experience a series of deaths, do they realize that all happenings haven't just been coincidences but a well though out revenge, set out for each of them.

I said it in my first paragraph, that I ventured into this movie because of a clip I saw, right? I tell you, dear reader, there were scenes like that and more here, in this drama. Scenes that dripped with tension, and had you screaming at the characters to make moves, even if it would have ended up putting them in trouble, or worse still, left them dead.

I love how this drama revolved solely around the five girls. When they were tested by love, they stood together, through trauma, they stood together. In harm, they stayed together. It was so nice seeing them stand up for each other, you'd think they'd all been friends since forever. And that was one of the themes that endeared me to this drama - Friendship. The friendship between the five friends, even after the saga, was admirable.

Most times, in teen flicks like these, there's always that one character, that does the unimaginable things. Surprisingly, there was none here. Each character acted just rightly, I found myself going back to continue with the drama, at every opportunity I got. Did I dislike a character? Yes.

Faran's mom was a character, I disliked. How could someone be so cruel to her daughter, because of what people will say? She was annoying, to be very honest. Even when she realized her mistakes and changed for the better, it didn't redeem her actions where I was concerned. Other than her, I didn't have a problem with characters. Every member of the cast, delivered their roles to the fullest, it felt like I was watching people be their normal selves on a screen. An acting, very worthy of commendation.

There were horror elements incorporated in parts of this movie, and it made it even all the more enjoyable for me. The CGI, and the cinematography, were worth it. The plot twist in season 1, was more a chef's kiss, than that of season 2. But the build up, suspense and thrill in season 2, was way better than that of season 1. So, both seasons complimented each other, with their fast pacings.

I'll rate this drama a solid 9/10. It was a watch I found so captivating, I am literally in a slump, for fear of watching another unsatisfying drama. You should check out this one, if you're into American dramas. Although, there were disturbing themes explored and some things might creep you out - our villains mask for one, all these did not in any way, hinder me from relishing the entertainment relief, this drama provided. So, check this one out.

Thanks for reading.
