Boys Over Flowers
Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗
The first kdrama that I watched that introduced me to the beauty of the Korean world was Boys Over Flowers, which I believe to be the most popular kdrama because most people that I know that started watching kdramas in 2012/2013 said this was the first kdrama they ever watched.
Summary
Boys Over Flowers is a 2009 South Korean romcom drama that featured Koo Hye-sun, Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon. The drama is about Geum Jan-di, a poor girl, and the F4, a group of four wealthy, popular, and powerful young men in her elite high school, Shinhwa High School.
The movie started with Geum Jan-di, who went to Shinhwa High School to deliver laundry when she noticed a boy who was on the verge of committing suicide, and she saved his life. The news of how she saved the boy went viral and was also published in the newspaper. While the chairwoman was being criticized for what happened, in order to shut up the masses, she decided to give Geum Jan-di a scholarship.
When she resumed school, she was immediately irritated by how the wealthy were behaving, but what annoyed her the most was how the whole school was obsessed with the F4 boys. Because of how she didn't care or regard them, Jun-pyo singled Jan-di out to bully her, but despite everything, she stood up to him.
The drama continued between them till Jun-pyo developed feelings for her.
Movie Review
The drama is an interesting one with impressive performance by the cast. It shows what some students go through in the hands of bullies and how most times the school authorities are aware but do nothing about it because the bully is from a wealthy home.
Jan Di's roles show resilience and tenacity. It shows how strong some people are and would never bow down to bullies. The drama explored different themes like love and friendship.
I would rate the drama a 4/5 and would also recommend it for k-drama lovers.

Why is K-drama popular?
I feel K-dramas (Korean dramas) are popular because of how engaging their storylines are; they keep you glued to the screen. The romantic scenes make you want to fall in love all over again.
Another thing is how the culture and traditions and values are displayed. I got to know a lot about the Korean transition from their movie. I love how they still maintain some of the culture even though the world has evolved.
K-dramas have excellent cinematography, their acting is top notch, they have a way of evoking strong emotional connections with their viewers.
I think another reason why k-dramas are so popular is because of its accessibility. It's easier to get them on different online sites.
