One of my all-time faves is the timeless family musical, The Sound of Music. I watched this movie with a childhood friend. Since when we were young, we have adored watching this movie while singing and dancing along to the music. We have seen the film countless times throughout the years. It never gets old. This film is classy, lovely, motivational, and upbeat. You will be delighted by it, and it is so lovely that you will almost cry. Funny enough, a few weeks ago, when my childhood friend visited me, we watched the film once more, which brought back wonderful memories.

Each and every element—including the actors, settings, costumes, music, choreography, and script is top notch.

The beginning of the movie is also quite strong. The plot is straightforward and fairly direct: Julie Andrews stars as Maria, who is an unqualified young nun sent to serve as the Von Trapp family governess. The Von Trapp family is extremely wealthy. The father is an Austrian navy captain. A strict disciplinarian who has lost his capacity to love and his inner musicality as a result of the passing of his wife, that made him operate his home like a crew of sailors and lineup his kids in a matching uniform. The kids didn't like Maria at first (they eventually fell in love with her). She was the 12th in a long line of governesses.

The main plot of the piece then centers on Maria the governess, taking over the home and winning the Captain until he leave his lady friend a Baroness. They fell in love with each other and got married to the children's delight.

But that was not the end of the movie, the Nazis invaded their homeland. However they got help from Maria's prioress and friends. The nuns destroyed the Nazis' cars and the Von Trapp's family escape to the mountains and that was the end of the movie. 🤗

one of my all time lesson from the movie was the bond of love the children shared amongst themselves, which made them almost immune to the strict demeanor of their father.
Also, I learnt from the movie that you can make something good and beautiful out of a seemingly difficult situation. Maria exemplified this, as she was able to change the stern atmosphere in the house and create a relaxed scenario, where the Captain couldn't help but recall his lost days on the acoustic.

Music in the end proved to not just bridge the gap between father and children, it created a conducive atmosphere for bonding and Maria played no small role in accomplishing this.
