Saludos, amigos cinéfilos de #CineTV. En estos días me he antojado ver películas viejas pero buenas. En esta ocasión vengo a darles mi opinión sobre un film que tal vez no gustó mucho, pero a mí sí me gustó bastante, se trata de La Cura Siniestra, un thriller de terror psicológico cargado de suspenso.

Greetings, fellow film buffs of #CineTV. Lately, I've been craving some old but good movies. This time, I'm here to give you my opinion on a film that perhaps wasn't very popular, but I quite enjoyed: A Cure for Wellness, a suspenseful psychological horror thriller.

Esta es una película de terror atípica dirigida por Gore Verbinski, que, por si no lo conocen, es el mismo director de El Aro, para que se den una idea de su tipo de terror, y no han visto este film del cual les vengo a dar mi opinión hoy.

This is an atypical horror film directed by Gore Verbinski, who, in case you don't know him, is the same director of The Ring, so you can get an idea of ​​his type of horror, and you haven't seen this film that I'm here to give my opinion on today.

Se podría decir que esta película tiene muchos puntos negativos y asumir que a muchas personas no les gustó. Una de ellas es por su larga duración y por una trama que empezó bien, pero en cierto punto se pierde de vista el tema y hasta se hace lenta la historia.

It could be said that this film has many negative points, and it's safe to assume that many people didn't like it. One of these is its long runtime and a plot that started well, but at a certain point loses sight of the main theme and even slows down.

Esto hizo que la película prometiera más de lo que en verdad entregó y no critico al director ni su trabajo, me parece que lo hizo muy bien, pero pudo hacerlo mejor.

This made the film promise more than it actually delivered, and I'm not criticizing the director or his work; I think he did very well, but he could have done better.

Las actuaciones de los protagonistas estuvieron chéveres en todo momento, y de los extras también. Ver tanta gente con esa conducta extraña durante toda la película daba miedo y a mi parecer logró su cometido, asustar e incomodar al espectador.

The lead actors' performances were great throughout, and the extras' too. Seeing so many people behaving so strangely throughout the film was scary, and in my opinion, it achieved its goal: to frighten and unsettle the viewer.

Otro punto a favor en este film es la escenografía o las escenas tomadas en la naturaleza, para mí fueron de otro nivel, me sentía en el paraíso de no ser por un científico loco que quería enfermar a la gente.

Another point in favor of this film is the scenery or the scenes taken in nature; for me, they were on another level. I felt like I was in paradise, were it not for a mad scientist who wanted to make people sick.

Porque sí, al final la trama gira en torno a ese tema, un científico obcecado por una cura que no explican nunca qué cura, pero que se obtiene enfermando a las personas que asisten a dicho sanatorio.

Because yes, in the end the plot revolves around that theme, a scientist obsessed with a cure that they never explain what cures, but which is obtained by making the people who attend said sanatorium sick.

También me gustó la historia de amor entre la hija del científico y el muchacho que entró al sanatorio por un tema de negocios.

I also liked the love story between the scientist's daughter and the boy who entered the sanatorium for a business matter.

Recuerdo que la primera vez que la vi no me gustó para nada la película, de hecho, la entendí tan mal que pensé que el dueño del sanatorio era un vampiro y usaba a sus pacientes para beneficio propio hipnotizándolos.

I remember that the first time I saw it, I didn't like the movie at all; in fact, I misunderstood it so much that I thought the owner of the sanatorium was a vampire and used his patients for his own benefit by hypnotizing them.

Pero luego de verla por tercera vez, aprecié más detalles y en esta oportunidad me gustó mucho más. Tanto que me hubiera gustado ver a Bill Skarsgård ya que estoy segura de que él le hubiera dado un toque más terrorífico, sin embargo, la actuación de Dane DeHaan estuvo estupendamente y en algunas ocasiones me recordó a mi actor favorito.

But after watching it a third time, I appreciated more details and liked it much more this time. So much so that I would have loved to see Bill Skarsgård, as I'm sure he would have added a more terrifying touch; however, Dane DeHaan's performance was superb and at times reminded me of my favorite actor.

Por las actuaciones, por el paisajismo capturado y por la trama que iba bien pero no prometió, la recomiendo sólo si deseas ver algo diferente y tienes el tiempo suficiente para hacerlo. De mi parte le otorgo sus bien merecidas 4 estrellas de 5.

For the acting, the beautifully captured scenery, and the plot, which was decent but not groundbreaking, I only recommend it if you want to see something different and have enough time. I give it a well-deserved 4 out of 5 stars.
