Esta serie está disponible en Netflix y consta de 12 episodios. La verdad es que es la segunda serie coreana que me veo, ¡me encantó! 😍
Greetings, fellow film buffs of #CineTV! I'm venturing into the darker side of Korean dramas, better known as K-dramas. I recently watched Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. This series is available on Netflix and has 12 episodes. It's actually the second Korean drama I've watched, and I loved it! 😍

El primer capítulo es bastante divertido. La serie trata de una chef que viaja al pasado, exactamente a la Dinastía Joseon, considerada la última monarquía y la más larga que tuvo Corea, que duró aproximadamente 505 años. Y cuando dicha chef viaja al pasado, se encuentra con el décimo sucesor de dicha dinastía, mejor conocido como Yeonsangun, el más tirano de todos.

The first episode is quite entertaining. The series follows a chef who travels back in time to the Joseon Dynasty, considered the last and longest-lasting monarchy in Korea, which reigned for approximately 505 years. Upon arriving in the past, she encounters the tenth ruler of the dynasty, Yeonsangun, the most tyrannical of them all.
Lo que más me gustó de la serie, además de su trama tan interesante, es que la cocina tiene un punto fuerte en todo momento. Pero el personaje principal de la historia no son sus personajes, sino la comida que se muestra en cada episodio.
What I loved most about the series, besides its fascinating plot, is that cooking is a constant highlight. But the main characters aren't the characters themselves; it's the food featured in every episode.
Me gustó mucho ver el efecto placentero que generaba cada bocado de la comida que la chef preparaba con tanto amor y cariño, no con el fin de conseguir reconocimiento o gloria sino para transmitirle a quien la comiera, un viaje al pasado para reconectar con sus momentos más felices de la infancia al mejor estilo de la película Ratatouille.
I really enjoyed seeing the pleasurable effect generated by each bite of the food that the chef prepared with so much love and care, not to gain recognition or glory but to transmit to whoever ate it, a journey to the past to reconnect with their happiest moments of childhood in the best style of the movie Ratatouille.
Esta serie confirmó mis sospechas por milésima vez, que el amor entra por la boca, es decir, que un hombre se puede conquistar por una buena comida bien hecha, tanto que poco a poco se le logre conquistar el corazón.

Y como les dije al inicio, no soy fan de este tipo de series, la vi porque me llamó la atención la sinopsis y me resultaba graciosa la idea de viajar en el tiempo a través de un libro de cocina. Su primer capítulo es muy gracioso y me atrapó al instante, fue una de esas series que no pude parar de ver hasta su último episodio.
And as I mentioned at the beginning, I'm not a fan of this type of show. I watched it because the synopsis caught my attention, and I found the idea of time travel through a cookbook amusing. The first episode is hilarious and hooked me instantly; it was one of those shows I couldn't stop watching until the very last episode.
Así de buenas resultan ser estas series y ya entiendo por qué a tantas personas les gusta este tipo de tramas. Es que llegan a ser adictivas y por ahora tengo una larga lista de otros títulos renombrados para ver. Por lo que sí, lo admito, me volví al lado oscuro y me encantan los doramas.
Yes, these series are really good, and now I understand why so many people like these kinds of stories. They're addictive, and I already have a long list of other well-known titles to watch. So yes, I admit it, I've gone back to the dark side, and I love K-dramas.
Y si decides ver esta serie, que por supuesto te recomiendo ver, no perderás tu tiempo y te divertirás mucho porque tiene comedia, drama, algo de acción y mucho romance. El típico romance que sólo te dan los doramas. Con esas miradas profundas y momentos icónicos que se detienen en el tiempo por una eternidad. También hay mucha intriga y los villanos son realmente detestables.
And if you decide to watch this series, which I highly recommend, you won't waste your time, and you'll have a lot of fun because it has comedy, drama, some action, and plenty of romance. The kind of romance you only find in K-dramas. With those deep gazes and iconic moments that seem to freeze time forever. There's also a lot of intrigue, and the villains are truly detestable.
Lo que sí se me hace complicado es diferenciar las facciones faciales entre los personajes. Se me dificultó ubicar a ciertos personajes porque al principio creí que eran malos, pero luego se volvieron buenos y viceversa, y como se me parecen físicamente todos los coreanos, tal vez por ser latina, no noto tanta diferencia entre ellos, pero bueno, aun así la terminé de ver.
What I do find difficult is distinguishing the facial features between the characters. I had trouble identifying certain characters because at first I thought they were bad, but then they became good and vice versa. And since all Koreans look alike to me, maybe because I'm Latina, I don't notice much difference between them, but oh well, I still finished watching it.
Otro punto a favor que debo admitir que me encantó es la cantidad de detalles que tomaron en cuenta para trasladar a la audiencia al pasado. La ropa que usaron, los utensilios, la escenografía y mucho más, todo estuvo muy bien hecho y me hicieron vivir en el pasado también.
Another positive aspect that I must admit I loved was the amount of detail they considered to transport the audience to the past. The clothing they wore, the utensils, the set design, and much more—everything was very well done and made me feel like I was in the past, too.
En cuanto a su final, se podría decir que por lógica iba a ser predecible, y creo que a muchas personas no les gustó porque dejaron sin explicar detalles importantes, pero al fin y al cabo es una historia de ficción y lo terminaron lo mejor posible, dejando abierta la imaginación para que cada quien sacara sus propias conclusiones, lo que a mi me encantó también. Por todas estas razones le otorgo sus 5 estrellitas completas y la recomiendo a todo el que le guste de este género para que se una al lado oscuro conmigo.
As for the ending, it was logically predictable, and I think many people didn't like it because important details were left unexplained. But ultimately, it's a work of fiction, and they finished it as best they could, leaving it open to interpretation so everyone could draw their own conclusions, which I also loved. For all these reasons, I give it a full 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre, so they can join me on the dark side.
