Cine TV Contest #146: The Blair Witch Project 【 🇪🇸 - 🇺🇸 】
Saludos estimados cinéfilos de #CineTV. Hoy quiero aprovechar este día para participar en su iniciativa de Película Sobrenatural Favorita, y para ello quiero hacerlo con un film que considero un clásico del terror psicológico que en su momento fue un éxito total en taquilla y mantuvo a muchos al filo del asiento. La película que elegí es El Proyecto de la Bruja de Blair.
Greetings, dear #CineTV moviegoers. Today I want to take advantage of this day to participate in your Favorite Supernatural Movie initiative. To do so, I want to work with a film that I consider a classic of psychological horror, which was a total box office hit at the time and kept many on the edge of their seats. The film I chose is The Blair Witch Project.

Esta es una de mis películas favoritas de terror psicológico. Recuerdo que la primera vez que la vi me asustó tanto que duré meses pensando en brujas y todo el terror que ellos habían experimentado. Pero lo que más me marcó fue que su caso nunca fue resuelto.

This is one of my favorite psychological horror films. I remember the first time I saw it, it scared me so much that I spent months thinking about witches and all the terror they had experienced. But what struck me most was that their case was never solved.
Por supuesto que al ver las imágenes filmadas por los mismos estudiantes y también cómo perdían el control por el pánico de no saber dónde estaban y que se encontraban perdidos en un bosque donde se escuchaban ruidos extraños, elevó mi terror como espectador.
Of course, seeing the images filmed by the students themselves and also how they lost control due to the panic of not knowing where they were and finding themselves lost in a forest where strange noises were heard, increased my terror as a spectator.
Ver estas tomas mal filmadas, con ellos corriendo por el bosque, aunque me marearon un par de veces, me hicieron sentir el terror que ellos sentían, escapando de algo que los perseguía y no se veía nada, pero se escuchaba.
Watching these poorly filmed shots, with them running through the woods, although they made me dizzy a couple of times, made me feel the terror they felt, escaping from something that was chasing them, and nothing could be seen but heard.
Recuerdo que mi padre fue uno de los que la criticaron por cómo fue filmada. Yo le insistía en que la película estaba hecha como un documental, de lo que ellos experimentaron antes de desaparecer en ese bosque, pero luego de explicarle esto a mi padre, siempre pensaba: ¿y si estaban perdidos, en dónde encontraron las cámaras?
I remember my father being one of those who criticized it for how it was filmed. I insisted that the film was made as a documentary, about what they experienced before disappearing in that forest, but after explaining this to my father, he always thought: what if they were lost, where did they find the cameras?
¿En esa casa abandonada que sale al final del video? Y si estaba tan cerca de la ciudad, ¿cómo es posible que no lograran salir de ese bosque? Sí, fue allí que empezaron a surgir mis dudas y noté huecos en la historia, así que me puse a investigar.
In that abandoned house at the end of the video? And if it was so close to the city, how come they couldn't get out of that forest? Yes, that's when my doubts began to arise, and I noticed gaps in the story, so I started investigating.
El internet estaba empezando a surgir y uno se conectaba por algunas horas nada más para poder acceder a información confiable sobre cualquier tema. Así fue que descubrí que la trama de la película fue ficción desde que inició hasta que terminó.
The internet was just starting to emerge, and people would go online for a few hours just to access reliable information on any topic. That's how I discovered that the film's plot was fictional from start to finish.
Saber esto me hizo sentir una gran decepción, pero admito que si la historia estuviera basada en hechos reales, hoy en la actualidad esta película sería considerada un éxito cinematográfico y no un fraude total que engañó a todo el que la vio.
Knowing this made me feel a great disappointment, but I admit that if the story were based on real events, this film would be considered a cinematic success today and not a total fraud that fooled everyone who saw it.
Fue la primera película filmada en primera persona con cámaras caceras, no había nadie más allí, sólo ellos 3 o al menos eso fue lo que nos hicieron creer, además de sentirte perdido en un bosque desconocido donde oyes risas, voces y pisadas de personas justo donde estás acampando por las noches, toda la combinación en sí fue realmente abrumadora.
It was the first film shot in first person with home cameras, there was no one else there, just the 3 of them or at least that's what they made us believe, besides feeling lost in an unknown forest where you hear laughter, voices and footsteps of people right where you are camping at night, the whole combination itself was really overwhelming.
Y el marketing que le hicieron a la película fue intenso, tanto que insistían en que las grabaciones eran reales, pero luego de obtener una gran suma de dinero por su estreno en los cines y tras haber invertido tan poco en su producción, sacaron a la luz la información de que la película era ficción.
And the marketing they did for the film was intense, so much so that they insisted the recordings were real, but after earning a large sum of money from its theatrical release and having invested so little in its production, they revealed the information that the film was fiction.
Imagino que más de uno se sintió estafado y decepcionado como yo. Y luego de saber la noticia, ver la película ahora ya no es lo mismo, pero igual pienso que hicieron un excelente trabajo y tomando en cuenta estos detalles negativos, aun así la recomiendo. De mi parte le otorgo 4 estrellitas de 5.
I imagine more than one of you felt scammed and disappointed like I did. And after hearing the news, watching the film now isn't the same, but I still think they did an excellent job, and considering these negative details, I still recommend it. For my part, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Si una película te lleva a investigar sobre ella después de verla es porque es buena jajaja. Me dió risa la opinión de tu papá pero estaba en lo cierto, supongo que es la sabiduría de los años.
Y bueno amiga, a veces el cine nos deja decepciones supongo que parte de la mágia.

Realmente no fue la primera película filmada en primera persona con cámara no profesional, pero sí logró un impacto en quienes la disfrutamos en su momento, más allá de la previa promoción que le hicieron, como bien acotas.
