Greetings, fellow film and TV enthusiasts. Since the beginning of the year, I decided to give a chance to an iconic series that defined a generation for a long time. A series full of suspense, mystery, and many secrets. Today I'll be talking about Pretty Little Liars.

Esta famosa serie está basada en una serie de libros escritos por Sara Shepard con el mismo nombre Lindas Mentirosas. Como era de esperarse, nunca me leí los libros, y 16 años después fue que quise verme la serie.

This famous series is based on a series of books written by Sara Shepard with the same name, Pretty Little Liars. As expected, I never read the books, and it wasn't until 16 years later that I decided to watch the series.

No sé por qué razón se me cruzaron los cables con esta serie y su trama. Por alguna razón pensé que Alison Di Laurentis (la de cabello amarillo) tenía una hermana gemela malvada y era esa hermana gemela que le dio por acosar a las ex amigas de Alison. Pero no.

I don't know why I got so confused about this show and its plot. For some reason, I thought that Alison Di Laurentis (the one with the blonde hair) had an evil twin sister, and that this twin sister was the one who took to harassing Alison's former friends. But no.

Para ser honesta, hubiera preferido mil veces que la serie tuviera la trama que me inventé en la cabeza porque quisieron darle tanta larga a la historia que se hizo innecesario y por ende tuvo muchos huecos e incoherencias narrativas.

I also loved the perfect man of the year character played by the god. To be honest, I would have much preferred the series to have the plot I came up with in my head because they wanted to drag out the story so much that it became unnecessary and therefore had many gaps and narrative inconsistencies.

Fue decepcionante para mí enterarme de que Mona Wanderwall fue la primera A. La chica acosada se volvió la acosadora y además psicópata.

It was disappointing for me to learn that Mona Wanderwall was the first A. The bullied girl became the bully and a psychopath to boot.

Y la serie pudo terminar tranquilamente allí, pero no, prefirieron extender la trama involucrando a otra A que nadie sabía quién era. Ya para la segunda A empezaron las inconsistencias y en vez de dejar a Alison Di Laurentis muerta, se inventaron la forma más absurda de explicar lo que pasó la noche que desapareció.

And the series could have ended peacefully there, but no, they preferred to extend the plot by involving another A whose identity was unknown. By the time the second A appeared, the inconsistencies began, and instead of leaving Alison De Laurentiis dead, they invented the most absurd way to explain what happened the night she disappeared.

Otra de las inconsistencias más notables que tuvo fue el factor tiempo que usaron para mostrar un hecho de suma importancia y que fue plasmado en las primeras temporadas. Uno de sus tantos misterios.

Another of the most notable inconsistencies was the amount of time used to depict a crucial event, which was shown in the early seasons. One of its many mysteries.

La serie, más que darle sentido a la historia y mantener un suspenso adecuado y bien hecho, prefirieron tomar en cuenta el Hype estas chicas que parecían super modelos al ir a la escuela y que cada día eran acosadas.

The series, rather than giving meaning to the story and maintaining adequate and well-made suspense, preferred to take into account the hype surrounding these girls who looked like supermodels when they went to school and who were harassed every day.

A estas chicas nunca las vi usar el mismo atuendo más de una vez. Y sí, se vestían hermoso pero estaban más pendientes de las apariencias que de lo que realmente merecía la pena atender, la escuela y su desempeño.

I never saw these girls wear the same outfit more than once. And yes, they dressed beautifully, but they were more concerned with appearances than with what really mattered: school and their performance.

Por ahora me falta ver la última temporada, donde aparece una tercera A, de manera innecesaria, pero compensan la historia con el final que todos esperaban ver, la boda entre Ezra y Aria, en un mundo sin A. De mi parte la recomiendo sólo si fuiste fan de las lindas mentirosas.

Al terminar pretendo darle una oportunidad a las secuelas y espero que sean mejor que la primera. Por su trama incoherente le doy 3 estrellas.

I still need to watch the last season, where a third A appears, unnecessarily, but they make up for it with the ending everyone was waiting for: Ezra and Aria's wedding in a world without A. Personally, I only recommend it if you were a fan of Pretty Little Liars.

After finishing this one, I intend to give the sequels a chance, and I hope they're better than the first. Because of its incoherent plot, I'm giving it 3 stars.
