As anyone who knows me can vouch.....I am a huge sucker for reality travel food shows, and though in my mind Anthony Bourdain (rest his soul) will eternally reign supreme as king of this television genre, a really really close second is Philip Rosenthal!

Who's that you ask? Well trust, you know him, even if you don't know you know him! lololol He is the comedic genius behind Everyone Loves Raymond and, although I really enjoyed that show, my adoration for him is due to his later show on PBS, I'll Have What Phil Is Having and even more recently his highly entertaining Netflix show, Somebody Feed Phil. Now you may think I only love him because we both are named Philip and spell it the "proper" way, but you'd be wrong, because I am a true fiend for food travel shows as different cultures and their culinary offerings is one of my longest lasting passions.

What spurred me to write this post at this present, given time was I just saw a new season is available of this amazing show on Netflix and between this and the new season of Stranger Things dropping this weekend, it appears I'm going to have an extremely busy Netflix weekend ahead of me. Thank goodness my weekend starts on Friday morning!

It would be entertaining enough if this was just your routine food travel show that featured exotic filming locations and the amazing regional culinary offerings, but I honestly have never, ever seen someone enjoy food as much as Phil and it is so apparently evident in his animated facial expressions as he is devouring some Mediterranean morsel or Asian appetizer! There is absolutely no hiding that he zealously loves food.....and so do I lolol maybe that is why I love this show so much, is that Philip Rosenthal can visually represent the emotional attachment I feel towards experiencing new dishes and devouring my repeat favorites!

The end of most episodes involves a video call to his aging parents as he describes the food he has experienced on his trip. It is a perfect touch to end an amazing show and if you haven't checked this out yet, you really, really should. It is a gem! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and remember I love you all and each of you deserves to truly be inspired by an exotic cuisine!!!!
