Alien: Earth (2025) Series Review | A Mind-Bending Sci-Fi Ride
Hello Movie Lovers 👋🏻 ❤️
I just finished watching the Alien Earth series, and I had thought that this series would only be released in the English language. But it has been released in four languages. You won’t find any flaws in it.
Now, let’s talk about what the series is like. Well, yesterday I checked the ratings this series received because some people get the chance to watch the series early. The series had an 8.8 rating yesterday, which is quite a good rating, and I felt that this series was going to be quite different.
I’ll tell you my reaction after watching it, but first, let’s talk about the basic story.
Basic Story
Whatever you saw in the trailer, you won’t particularly see that in the first two episodes of the series. I mean, what we thought the story would be like, based on the trailer, this series is quite different from that. The story of this series progresses in a non-linear way. Sometimes it moves forward, sometimes to the future, future, past, and so on. Because of this, a mystery element is maintained about what the actual story of the series is.
For now, the story that can be understood is that a spaceship crashes on Earth, and some people are sent to investigate what happened to the spaceship. There are aliens inside the spaceship, as we saw in the trailer. But when the series starts, you’ll see something different. And a question will linger in your mind: what exactly is happening? You’ll have to watch the series to find out.
So, this non-linear presentation of the series might feel a bit irritating to some people, but in my opinion, it’s quite good. As for the story I’ve seen in the first two episodes and how it felt to me, I found the story quite amazing. It felt much better than decently recent series, especially the story of these two episodes. Because of this, I wouldn’t point out any flaws in the story.
Technical Aspects
Talking about visuals, there are no shortcomings in the visuals of the series either. In some places, they’ve used certain techniques to cut costs and still make the visuals look good at a low cost, which might make some people feel that cost-cutting was done here. The visuals could have been enhanced a bit. But honestly, it doesn’t make much of a difference. All the alien scenes feel quite realistic. Like what we saw in the Alien Covenant movie or Prometheus. You get almost the same kind of visuals here.
So, visually, you won’t find any flaws in the series. I found the performances of all the actors quite good. You’ll also see an Indian actor in it. And the best thing about the series, I felt, is that it comes with a multilayered story. It’s not like the series is only following one story or that the current story we’re watching is all there is. There are other things in the series that we’ll get to see later.
And if I had to define the first two episodes of the series in one word, I’d say “amazing.” Absolutely amazing, this series has been. The most impressive thing is that this series has retained the essence we’ve seen in previous Alien movies, like Prometheus or Alien Covenant. You must remember how terrifying the environment becomes when those dangerous alien creatures appear. The same terrifying environment is created in this series when these dangerous creatures show up, and you’ll feel a sense of fear seeing them.
You’ll also see some gruesome scenes in this series. But compared to the other movies that have come out so far, you won’t see overly gruesome scenes. Only as many gruesome scenes as were necessary are included. So, you can watch it while eating if you want. So far, I haven’t seen anything that would make me feel nauseous, and as far as the first two episodes go, you can watch it with family. I don’t recall seeing any kissing scenes in either of the two episodes.
Final Verdict
The series has just started, and the cliffhanger it ended on makes us want to know what happens next. As for the actresses’ performances and production value, everything about the series felt quite good to me. I don’t want to judge the series based on just two episodes, but I’d still say the two episodes were very interesting and amazing for me. If only Jio Hotstar would stop putting 30 ads in a 1-hour episode. Because I haven’t taken a Jio subscription. I watched this series using my brother’s Jio Hotstar subscription, where a total of 30 ads appeared in a 1-hour episode. If they reduce this, there really wouldn’t be any other flaws in the series.
Based on the current episodes of the series, I’d easily give this series an 8.5 rating, and I think the series is going to get even more amazing moving forward.
This is also one I want to watch some day but it's hard to find all the time for me. Nice to see you liked it and it gives good hope that I will enjoy it myself. I always liked the Alien Franchise.
Yes you can watch it but I would say if you don't have anything special to watch then you should definitely watch it.
