Is 'Black White and Grey: Love Kills' Worth Your Time? Here's the Honest Review
If you want to watch a series that includes a documentary test and a series test—then Son Liv's new web series Black White and Grey: Love Kills. You should definitely watch this series.
There are six episodes, each episode's running length is roughly 40 to 50 minutes. How was the series? Is it worth your time? Because, it's a pretty big series—I'll talk about that in this review. Before that, let me tell you the story.
Story Overview
Here, the story of a serial killer is being shown, who is guilty—he committed four murders. But he hasn't been caught yet. He is on the run.
This time, this documentary is about those involved in this case, they come, give interviews, and tell their stories. And in this documentary, the killer's story is being interestingly told. The killer also comes and he tells what he did and didn't do.
That is the highlight of this series. Because, when the murderer comes here to give an interview, the first thing he says is—“Whatever you’ve heard about me so far, I didn’t do any of it.” Why are people saying these things about him? Did he actually do these things or not? This series is going to be about all of this.
Positive Aspects
What are the good aspects of this series this time?
First of all, this treatment—this documentary and the series—are not two things, they are different. The way these two have been combined is outstanding. Here it is being shown that everyone is saying everyone’s point—the documentary is going on, and there is also an acted version of it. That is, actual actors are acting there. And the differentiation between those two things, be it through treatment or through look and feel—the BGM of these two things is different, the look and feel of the two things is different.
The way things are placed is different. The style of storytelling is very unique. The story can keep you engaged.
This storytelling and treatment—you get the feel of the series in a series, the normal kind of series where there is loud BGM, there is a cinematic thing—that thing too. You also get the documentary feel, where everything is raw and real.
That treatment—differentiating the two things—is a very, very nice treatment. And with that, this series can engage you. The hook points that are placed in each place, the way they bring things to those cliffhangers at the end of the episode—the way those things can keep you engaged, is outstanding.
The twists and turns in every place, the story seems to be changing in every place. The more people come, the more people engage you. And everyone's story is different. The way those things are shown and the way they are presented, the way the twists and turns are given, is outstanding.
High points, low points—cliffhangers at every place, engagement—brother, the best. The way this series provides you with high points and low points, twists and turns, is outstanding.
Along with that, everyone here has acted very well. Everyone who has acted in the series has acted well here.
And another thing has been shown very well in this series. I mean, if you watch it, you will understand that thing. That is—this series talks about some things in society. And they are very vital. It does not point out those things, nor does it keep them in an undertone. But you will understand them.
That is—what effect does any event have on social media, what effect does it have on the news, how does the media react to that thing today. And when we see a person, we judge whether that person is good or bad, what that person can do or cannot do. We didn't know that person, we didn't recognize him, we didn't mingle with him, we didn't get inside—but we give our judgment.
It happens—you see, maybe I did it a lot of times. Now, the way that thing comes up, many such statements about society, they come up. Those things come up very well.
Emotion works very well in this series. You will understand who you will develop emotions with when you watch the series. I'm not saying that now. But the emotion is developed towards the end. But the emotion is there very well. This was a fairly positive aspect.
Negative Aspects
The only thing I found negative about the series. That is that the series could have been a little shorter. In some places—especially towards the end, going to episode number five-six—some things start to drag a little. Some things start to feel repetitive. In that place, I felt that the time could have been cut a little more. The series could have been pressed a little more.
There are no other negative aspects.
Final Verdict
Those who want to watch an outstanding series, should watch this series. And yes—keep children away from it. Because, this subject is also not for children. And there are some murders and evils here. You cannot watch them sitting with children.
Those who have watched the series—how did you like it? And those who have not watched it, go and watch it.
