Movie Review ~ Brick (2025): A Unique Concept That Falls Short

Hello Movie Lovers đŸ‘‹đŸ»

So finally, the Brick movie has been released on Netflix, and I was super excited just for the Brick movie. Because, just by watching the trailer, it felt like this movie was going to be very different, very amazing. But Netflix, or any movies made nowadays, they only put the best shots in the trailer. Because of this, judging whether a movie is good or not just by watching the trailer is quite difficult, and you should always keep some doubt. You shouldn’t get too excited.

Is it the same case with this movie? Is this movie actually good? I’ll tell you about both things. First, let’s talk about the basic story without any spoilers.

Plot

In this, we get to see the story of many people who are living inside an apartment, inside a building. Among them, our hero is also living in a room, in a flat. But in the meantime, when all these people try to leave their homes and go outside, they see that a wall has appeared outside. And they think, let’s look through the window. There’s a wall at the window too. They don’t see any way to get out of their rooms.

So, the normal walls, like the ones built between rooms, they start breaking those, breaking the lintel below, and these people start talking. But no one finds any way out. So, who built this wall? How do they get out of here? Is someone playing a game with these people, like solve this, then move forward, and then something will happen? That you’ll have to see in the movie itself.

Talking about the movie, first, let’s discuss some positive things, and then we’ll also talk about the negatives.

Positive Aspects

The biggest positive is its unique concept. We’ve seen similar concepts, but as it is, we haven’t seen anything like this anywhere—a wall suddenly created outside the room, and no one can get out of it. The food supply has stopped. A lot of problems are going to arise, and it feels like these people are just going to die. And that wall feels like some alien type. It feels like some alien has built this wall. So, no doubt, the concept is quite unique.

Visually, this movie is quite impressive. All the visuals in it look very good. The third thing is the movie’s strong pacing. The way the movie moves forward quickly, doesn’t stray from its plot, because it’s only a 95-minute movie. It stays on point and keeps moving forward quickly. Because of this, we don’t feel bored anywhere.

But now let’s talk about the negatives too.

Negative Aspects

The first negative is weak character development. The characters in this haven’t been developed properly. Because of this, we can’t emotionally attach to them at all. Everything has been kept only at a surface level.

The second thing is predictable moments. As soon as this movie enters its second half, we start figuring out what’s going to happen next. I mean, everything starts becoming clear. Whether you’re very smart or not, you can guess what’s going to happen next. Because this is a pretty bad thing. When we already know what’s going to happen next, what’s the point of it being a mystery?

The third thing, the biggest negative of this movie, is its unfulfilled science fiction potential. There was a lot of potential in this movie. The kind of wall shown could have led to many things. But it was shown in such a way that afterward, you’ll feel like they made a fool out of me here. Literally, that’s the feeling you’ll get.

And this movie, I’m not saying it’s too bad. It’s definitely a one-time watch movie, which you can watch once to pass the time. After that, you’ll completely forget this movie. You won’t want to watch it again. The movie hasn’t received very great ratings either. Maybe around 4.9 or 8 on IMDb, which is quite a low rating.

My Opinion

In my opinion, this is an average movie, which you can watch once for time pass. Otherwise, if you’re a new audience, only then might you like this movie a bit. If you’re a pro audience, if you’ve watched movies like Escape Room, multiple movies like this, then you’re not going to like this movie. That’s why you can easily skip this movie and save your time.

Otherwise, if you want to watch it, you can watch this movie in the every language and decide for yourself how you liked it.

If you liked this review, Let me know in the comments and if you've already seen it, what's your opinion?

So true! Trailers these days are like movie 'highlights'—all the best moments packed into 2 minutes, leaving us hyped... only to realize the actual film is a different story. 😅 Thanks for the heads-up on 'Brick'—will keep my expectations in check! Have you found any hidden gems lately that actually lived up to their trailers
