Netflix’s Fear Street: Prom Queen Review– Worth Watching or a Total Miss?
Hello friends, I am @papamogambo, now I will review the new movie Fear Street: Prom Queen on Netflix.
Now, a trilogy has been released on Netflix before this Fear Street in 2021. It has three parts that you can watch if you want. Now, you will tell me can I watch this movie directly without watching those movies? You can, there is no problem. Hindi dubbing is available and Hindi dubbing is quite okay.
Story Overview
What is the story of this? Here, there is a high school, and a prom night is being organized there. Six girls have been selected, they will participate in that prom night. One of them will be the winner.
There is a murderer who wants to kill six people. Why, for what reason does he want to kill, and until the end, that murderer cannot be caught, cannot be caught—this one-and-a-half-hour short movie is about all these things.
Now, you will tell me whether this movie should be watched or not? No, look, it is a slasher movie. This time, without thinking about Hollywood, I watched the movie and thought that if I showed violence, bloodshed, and gore, a proper slasher movie could be made.
Hollywood has made good slasher movies. This movie can't even come close to slasher movies.
Positive Aspects
Positive side? If I say the positive side here—there is only one positive side: the BGM is good in some places.
Negative side? Apart from that, you won't like anything else in the one-and-a-half-hour movie. Bloodshed is shown here. Now I'm going into the negative side. Okay? Bloodshed is shown, but those bloodsheds, not those, can't have any effect.
Because the reason behind it is not strong. The emotion is not working. If the reason is not strong, then those bloodsheds seem normal to you.
Suppose, a person is beaten, cut, and his throat is slit. Now the people around him are looking at him—his body lying with its throat slit. They are not accustomed to seeing a body face to face like that. Nobody sees such things every day. They are coming, not coming, presenting that thing in a very normal way that is normal for us, throat slit, we see it every day—we see a body with a throat slit every day at breakfast. That is not a problem for us.
The fear will go away from you. The horror elements that have been kept here or the edge-of-the-seat moments, this body-shaking thing—what will happen now? The shock value that is there when the killing takes place—you will not get those. The story becomes predictable. In the end, you will understand who was doing the murders long before.
Things have a twist in the end, that is revealed to you. This horror field cannot give that. Whenever in a place, when it is not creating that mahal, creating the atmosphere, you will understand that, well, there will be a murder here. And what does murder mean? Slasher will cut, will cut off hands and feet, will cut off throats - these are the ones I can see. It cannot provide shock value there.
The performances are also pretty good, I can't call it amazing or there is nothing to talk about separately.
Negative Aspects
What's wrong with the movie? The reason or motive for the murders that are done here is not very strong. The way the horror scenes or slasher scenes are staged here is not good. The way the whole thing is being shown here, the storytelling is not good.
The story here cannot hook you up. In a one and our movie, your story is being revealed during that. You are already knowing what will happen in the end.
So what else is left to watch in this movie? Even then, if you want to watch it, go and watch it. It is on Netflix, it is available in Hindi. I think the movie itheme best movie, whi,ch even if you don't watch itt won't be much of a problem for anyone.
Final Verdict
So this was the review of Fear Street: Prom Queen. Who has already seen it, comment and tell me how you liked it. Anfor d those who haven't seen it, you can watch it if you want your choice.
Don't forget to tell me how you liked it in the review.
I think you're being a bit harsh, even if I didn't connect directly with the Fear Street trilogy at first, except for some familiar imagery in the typical character intro and maybe some name that sounded familiar.
I understand your reasons, because it may not bring anything to the assassin genre, except for a character design with a raincoat and mask.
Taking refuge in the 80s aesthetic and the songs may connect with me, but it doesn't help either and I don't think it's for everyone.
Where it does pass my test and partly saves the film is in its form of gore and those deaths that border on parody.
I'm a lover of old school B-movie fare, and I think this high school prom death flick wants to pay homage in part to that type of filmmaking with its spurts of blood and mutilated bodies.
In short, it's the typical catalog film that's there to get attention as a novelty and is totally watchable in the background, but may be necessary to keep the genre of gore and mutilation alive within the platform.
You're right, thank you for your opinion.
