I recently watched a movie on Netflix titled Night Always Comes. This movie features Vanessa. You might have seen Vanessa previously in Marvel’s Sue Storm role. We have also seen her in Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible movies.

Story Overview

This movie is a crime drama thriller, in which we get to see Vanessa’s story, where she wants to buy a house. If she doesn’t buy a house soon, she will lose custody of her brother. Her brother is mentally and physically disabled. There’s a specific term for this, which I’m forgetting right now. Aamir Khan’s movie also covered a similar theme.

Vanessa’s brother has physical and mental disabilities, which is why, to keep his custody, she needs to have at least a house. She had worked hard and saved money for this, but her mother spent all that money on a car. Now, she has only one day left. She must arrange the money somehow, or she will lose her brother’s custody forever.

How she manages to arrange the money is what you’ll see in the movie. To gather the funds, she resorts to various methods. Because of this, the movie becomes an adult film. You cannot watch it with family. However, it doesn’t show too much of that content. For those who are fans of such content, this movie isn’t for you.

What did I think of the movie?

The most interesting part for me was when Vanessa is ready to do anything for money. She has a specific goal and will do anything to achieve it. But it’s shown in a very realistic way. There’s no excessive motivation or exaggeration.

It shows how dark things can get in America, portrayed from a girl’s perspective. While trying to fix things, how she gets trapped deeper into trouble is depicted very well in the movie.

Therefore, I’d say it’s a decent story. Not overly amazing, but definitely worth watching once. If you like crime thriller movies, this is for you. By crime thriller, I mean you won’t see too much crime. There’s hardly any action in it.

Mainly, you’ll see drama. The pain and helplessness of a girl are portrayed. It also shows, both indirectly and directly, what’s happening in America very well.

Acting & Performance

All the actors’ performances were impressive to me. Especially Vanessa, whose character is the main focus. Vanessa has done remarkable acting. In terms of production value and acting, this movie is great.

Final Verdict

My final verdict is that it’s a one-time watch movie, through which you can pass your time well. I liked the movie decently. It was engaging from start to finish. Therefore, I’d rate this movie 7 out of 10.
